The good: love the parking spot marker and qr code. The bad: Making me click into 3 levels to get to my pass isn't a great user experience. The ugly: I loaded a profile picture that the app has lost, with no obvious way to re-add it. The app also does not show my dining plan, though I added it months ago (but the qr code did still work at the restaurants). Needs bug fixes and improvements for sure.
Better off using the website! Especially if you are using a dining plan, it is just vauge on what dining plans it accepts (website lists every single one, including the snacks)
Never works! I can't upload new season passes after previously having last year's pass on here.
Good app! Don't use it much for ride waits but good as a pass backup if you lose it!
Garbage, doesn't work. Used it all last year (2018) and it worked well. A year later you have to create an email/password combo to see ride wait times. Except you can't make an account, the circle just spins and spins when you try. I've tried it at KI signed into their wifi, at KI on LTE, and at home. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've tried different email addresses. Nothing works.
Park map is nice. Some ride times are accurate, some are way off. Directions to Mystic Timbers doesn't take you to the entrance. Height req are wrong for some rides (min/max) There is an inconsistent layout of the app online vs offline. Ride times are only available in the park and the first time I used it, I couldn't find them.They just took several minutes to show up. The app is better than nothing, esp ride info. Use a paper map for shows, rider height requirements, and finding something.
This app does its job perfectly well when it does work, but there's no telling when it will work throughout the day. I had two issues with this app: 1) it would occasionally tell me I had no internet connection even though I did, and 2) the ride list wouldn't stay current throughout the day, it would list all current rides at times and default to an outdated list at other times. Two good features are wait times for rides are fairly accurate and directions to any ride from anywhere in the park.
The app is easy to use, so glad I had it to get the pictures they take when you first walk in. I actually didn't buy any at the end of the day and I regretted it and wanted to purchase them at another time. Their customer service was able to retrieve our pictures and send them to me so I was able to purchase through the app. I just left Kings Island in general rate theme park wonderful rides my daughters had the best time for their first time ever going to a theme park
Can't add season pass, tried both cedar point and this app and I can't add my season pass to either of them.
I like that the purchases you make are tied in making a quick scan at places possible. The map and ride times are about useless however. Add 30 minutes to most your times and you get a more accurate outcome. Really it's just anyone's guess.
Bugs need fixes for android, funpix doesn't work correctly, have to download photos to see them. Camt just click and open them. Still doesn't show food reservations system like iphone app does. Hopefully it's fixed before the park opens. Edit after update just now, it still doesn't have the food reservation option, under the store tab like the iPhone app does.
Strengths and weaknesses. It's mapping is handy, but doesn't tell you what is open and what is closed (and a lot was). Wait times displayed were totally useless for their inaccuracy.
it had a map, but kept lapsing into a 2018 version, or maybe even older than that as it had fire hawk and was missing mystic timbers. it repeatedly reported that I was not connected to the internet, although I was (sometimes with park wifi and sometimes with data). the wait times were absolutely useless and wrong. (plus they are not even posted at ride entrances.) restaurant info was also lacking actual menus and meal plan details. just tries to sell tickets to a park I am already in!
Why bother creating this app? Wait times are completely innacurate and map shows the same icon for every ride without labels. You have to tap each one to see what it is. Why develop an app that gets so close to the finish line and does not cross it? Disney knows how to do it right... that's why KI isn't them. Developers should be a embarrassed.
The apps won't let me create an account to link my season passes. I keep getting a message that "something went wrong". Very frustrating, especially if this is how I'm supposed to reserve a day to attend when the park reopens in a few weeks.
There is a definite glitch in this app. It won't permit me to 'sign in' or create an account. So I have limited functionality. The app would let me update and add my season pass information. The app keeps telling my I am off line, though I am not. I had a similar issue with the Cedar Point one as well.
I bought the fast lane advanced tickets for me and my niece then was refused access on the right ride at the snoopy ride. Spent over 160$ to be treated unfair. Paid over 400$ literally to have a missirable day and be treated unfair.
I use this app everytime I'm at Kings Island... Which is, pretty much, everyday. We have season passes and try to make it there on a daily basis, since we live 5 mins away. This app helps us store our passes and lets us know wait and walk times. This app is a must have for any Kings Islander.
Good app to know where rides are and if they are down. During the 2019 season the ride wait times were accurate about 50% of the time. If they fix that issue, this would be a great app.
Was at park opening day 2019, no ride wait times showing(even though it was a walk on) and no 2019 schedule yet! come on Kings Island get it together! The park looks amazing, best in years but review is for the app!
This is a great app to own if you go there alot or live near it... Only because it gives real wait times on the rides and it lets you know if there is a ride down, plus it lets you know if your near food or a bathroom which can really help especially if you know the wait time on the next ride is going to be a hot minute 🤣🤣😂
So instead of telling me I had the wrong password, the app chose to tell me there was an internal server error. It was not at all clearnfrom this message that I was inputting a wrong password
One of the worst apps. Used to work but no longer allows login or signup so ride times are not available. Tried on prior phone and brand new Droid Z3. Wheels just spin when attempting login or signup.
Worst update ever. Now I have to scroll through every day to see when the park is open. Used to be able to look at an entire month with color codes days to see park hours. Now every day is the same color and you can only see 1 day at a time. STUPID!!!!
Rarely works when I'm at Kings island. walked all the way across the park to get on drop soon for a shorter wait but it was closed even though it said a 10 minute wait. If it's not working just say it's not working.
Most ride times are 3 times what they say
App worked fine last summer. This year I cannot login, signup or request my password, the screen just spins indefinitely. Very disappointing.
I give the app an overall 2 stars. It has potential to be a 4-5 star app if it worked properly and worked. Pros- It's great for keeping your pass on there, its also great for marking your parking spot. The map, itself, is nice to have, as you can find your way around. Cons- The ride list is not accurate, one of my favorite rides growing up was The Vortex, it's no longer there but its on the app ride list. The "wait times" never loaded up yesterday.
