Cool idea, nice to use. Idk if its faster than using a "normal" launcher. But i do think it eliminates the "swiping back and forth between pages because ydkwtd". Sometimes its hard to think of the app name, especially if yiu gace it a long name; so I think its a good idea to give your frequently used apps a shorthand name. Otoh the search function is a little slow, so when I press enter on the keyboard, it doesnt Always activate the irem corresponding to my search, but ratgwr to an intermediate.

This launcher provides a fast snappy experience but my issue with it is that I cannot add widgets on my redmi note 10pro , I'm on miui13 global stable it's been almost an year since this issue was posted on GitHub , the launcher crashes as soon as I tap on 'Add Widget' it would be amazing if the developers fixed this issue I want to make this as my default launcher but no widget support stops me. Thanks

Good feature-rich simple launcher. It has grown to be closer to my first expectation years ago but there's a critical bug. Tapping on contact search result only shows toast notification that says "contact doesn't exist". --- Edit 2: Even though the bug isn't fixed yet, i give it another star since the dev is very helpful. --- Edit 3: I've since changed phone and now everything works perfectly fine.

Thanks for the prompt response for double tap to lock. One more small request (if possible), could you please make the widget size customisable, similar to Nova launcher? I know we can enlarge and reduce widgets but the sizes are fixed and not entirely stretchable.

Best launcher I've ever used and ive used all the major ones (and many others too). Too many are focused on all these useless gimmick features. All I wanted was a nice clean, empty, screen. This launcher achieves that perfectly. Been using for almost a year now with no issues. I would like to see some additional gesture support but other than that I have no suggestions. It's perfect and exactly what I've been looking for. Oh and it's FOSS. I'd give this 6 stars if I could.

The search results are not accurate. The search do not show even the most frequently used app 6/10 times. I believe the developer could resolve this issue. I am using KISS launcher for more than a year, and have met with several issues, which were resolved with updates. I believe the developer will resolve the "search result" issue very soon.

REPLY- Thank you for responding! I am aware of the tags option, personally I find visual folders easier to work with (in the app drawer). Grids are better than lists IMO. But, that's not a big issue for me. I did realize one other thing missing, and this is more important, that is quick actions app shortcuts. Hope to see those in the future. FIRST- It seems very promising. I REALLY appreciate the lack of network permissions and the non-invasive requests overall. I adore the overall look and feel + the straight to search on pressing the home key. However, I am waiting for more widget and general customization options (font & icon size, number of icons on favorites bar, folders in app drawer, etc.) I understand your focus on simplicity, but there's 2 kinds of simple, and one does not necessarily equate with easy. Anyway, I am excited to see and enjoy more good work from you dev Neamar. Thanks for sharing your project!

KISS is the best minimalist launcher, hands down. It is extremely customizable, from the colours (my homescreen is all black, it looks blank if you didn't know better!), to tagged and favourite apps, to app history (or lack thereof). The very slim install makes it a great choice for any phone, but the fact that it is free & open-source makes it the best one out there!

Simple, elegant and efficient. I discovered kiss a year ago and it effectively ruined all other launchers for me. I tried going back to the slick looking and feature-packed launchers that I used to have before because I was getting a little bored with how my phone looked. I COULD NOT STAND all the extra little touches and steps I had to do to perform basic tasks despite how slick it all felt. I switched back after 2 days. If you're lazy like me, this app is for you.

The ultimate minimalist launcher. Allows for zero apps, widgets on your home screen, no dock or apps drawer. Instead a fast and smart search facility accesses both apps, files and Google searches all in one. Learns as you use it so that apps come up with one letter typed. I have it setup with nothing obscuring the artwork displayed on my home screen, search bar is transparent. As a result.i can navigate around my phone much faster than when I had apps and folders on the screen.

Great concept, very light-weight, easy to use. The idea itself requires you to remember the names of apps though since there really is no drawer or "see all apps" option. However, the search is great and if you only really use a few apps often, then this app is the fastest way to launch them. Cool idea, been enjoying it but, the concept takes some getting used to. --- edit --- Developer pointed out you can touch the green circle for all apps! Made a good launcher now great! Nice work!

Awesome minimal launcher. I've been using it for a while and I'm not planning on using anything but KISS in the future. Sometimes a bit buggy when activating the keyboard, but it's not a big deal. It seems like when I have the keyboard set to 'always show' it will sometimes not register when typing. sometimes it's just the first character not getting caught.

I would like an option for the app list to appear as an icon grid vs a giant list. In my first 3 minutes of using the launcher, that was my initial "ugh moment". Yes the search is fast, but if i could customize the list into a grid of apps 2, 3, 4, 5 wide and alphabetical through the rows i think id be more happy. It is blazing fast so far at least. Ill give it an honest try.

There's an bug, I have KISS Launcher as the default launcher on my device. when I use it It shows an app "KISS Launcher", in any other Launchers I ever used, didn't experience this kind of bug. Please fix. I think the bug is present because it Provides a "Launcher Intent" (fr.neamer.kiss/fr.neamer.kiss.MainActivity), There's no need for providing a Launcher Intent, Users can set KISS as the "Default Launcher" in Settings Anyway, why would someone need to Open KISS to use It?

Awesome launcher if you want a minimal, distraction free experience. Totally free and open source as well. Many thanks to the developer for making this available to everyone!

Great launcher idea, but unfortunately execution seems to be not that great. Performance is so bad sometimes it takes up to ~5 seconds to load. Calculator is now randomly gone for some reason. It may be a good strategy to keep app as small as possible if it does not hurt useability or it is intended for the user to extend the codebase on his own. As far as I'm aware, neither is the case here.

This launcher set the standard for other launchers for me in terms of having easy access to the keyboard to open apps, shortcuts, and settings + doing away with auto-categorization (e.g. Smart Launcher 5). But KISS is not quite as polished as I hoped, with confusing settings, reverse ABC order, and a fast scroll that's hard to reach with one hand. Edit: with the "display keyboard on start" option, I'm using this as an app search now on another launcher until Android 12. Works very good actually!

It's all there in the title. As simple to use as it gets. A bit spare on features when compared to most launchers, but if you download this that's exactly what you were after. It's probably not noticable unless you have a really old/low spec phone, but a lack of bloat does make this launcher faster than the usual fare. Also, free launcher is free, and free is good.

I have been using this launcher for the past one year. Absolutely stable and user friendly. I love the feature to freeze the history, so the list appearing on homepage is stable and i can always reach the required app instantly. Adding/removing to the lists, tags etc are extremely user friendly. Launcher works at lightning speed and without any issues whatsoever. I'm using KISS launcher on almost 4+ years old lenova vibe and it still feels like a new phone. Thank you Neamar for the wonderful piece of software.

Fantastic launcher. I always end up coming back to it, it's just so pleasant to use. Great visually too, the UX. Open-source and lightweight.

App is good but a suggestion give an option to change app icon to text only 1 problem app is not in full-screen . I turned on hide status bar but still it gives/left space of status bar infact in app drawer same thing

Ada. B. May 6, 2022

When leaving the app drawer or search the UI flickers once. Has happened on old and new phone. Very distracting.

Great launcher.. simple n powerful.. its lightweight too. You can search anything from the get go, also u can "pinned" your fave apps. Can i suggest some feature? Like keyboard shortcut or gesture shortcut? That will be perfect.. thanks!! Edited: Thanks for your reply. I see.. i dont know about the gesture until now. But if you can customize gesture that will be great, such as double tap to sleep. Also what i mean about keyboard shortcut is you can tap and hold a key and it will perform a specific task. As for the alias and tagging thanks for the info. I really like it. I really believed this is one of a kind launcher.

This is one of the best launchers I've ever used. Beneath the simple and minimalist surface it offers tons of features. You can search for almost anything, not just apps and contacts, but also any homescreen shortcuts (including files, folders, web bookmarks), even widgets (I'm using it along with Popup widgets and KWGT), you can use tags (instead of folders) for anything, customizable web search... My only gripe is a bit finicky resizing of widgets. Otherwise I'm impressed. Thanks

My new favorite launcher. It's ridiculously simple, well made, and does it's job perfectly. Everything you need is a click away. Need to call someone? Just type. need an app? Just type. Settings? Just type. Recent apps and contacts are listed above the search bar. Highly recommend.

Sur. j. Mar 8, 2022

Most simple and powerful application I never see in the Play Store. I have few issues with this launcher in regards to the accessibility when i am long pressing the application I am getting some menu but TalkBack is not directly focusing on the menu. TalkBack is not telling the focused application is work app or normal app.

Ron. J. Apr 12, 2022

Very nice change of pace from normal launchers. Tried many different launchers, and this is one of my favorites!

Lac. K. Jun 24, 2020

Brilliant!! Love the simplicity of this launcher! I can't figure out how to decrease the text and app icon size though? Suggestion: enable only selected apps to display notification bubbles - i.e. I don't want a notification bubble on my music app which shows when it's playing because notifications are enabled in the system for this app to display playback controls on the lock screen.
