I must agree with most reviews on here about loading at super slow speed. Also, if you click on any button or option in settings or basically any button throughout the entire app, you wait equally as long for that to load. Basically, it'll take about 5min to change any settings in the app. Other than speed, very easy to use & navigate. I've been using this app for over a year.

Apparently I'm in the minority here, but this app works awesome for connecting to and managing my AC. I have had occasional connection issues, but by and large it works as intended. It's easy to set schedules and adjust the temperature from my phone. It even auto-connected to my AC after it had been in storage after the winter. I guess your mileage may vary. 🤷‍♂️

TLDR: when it works, it's ok. But it almost never does. This app is a coin flip. When it works, it's pretty good. But, opening the app is a 50/50 chance of success. Sometimes it just sits on the opening splash screen and doesn't do anything. The only fix (sometimes works) is clearing the app's storage and rebooting my phone. At which point I have to sign in again. Another reason hardware developers should never be software developers.

Trash! Every time I open the app, self help page comes up. Why? There is no geofencing option. The ac unit just randomly kicks in on eco mode with medium fan speed. I don't want any of that. And I don't care how much energy this unit takes, I would like to set the time and temperature for certain days of the week. It's simply not there. It's easier to use the remote or just walk to the window and press it. Maybe someone who actually use window air conditioner should be designing an app. Fix it!

Wouldn't let me sign in or sign up. And when I finally got pass the sign up (had to use different email), it wouldve even find the AC that I bought. It's brand new. Fresh out of the box and it couldn't find it. Not even when I input the password. Then, the customer support help line is a constant wait with 0 progress. Every 30 secs, it will interrupt to give an advert for their scheduling repair. Then make you press 2 to resume queue. The worst.

I've been using this app for 2yrs now to date there's no major issues. My experience so far is that connectivity has been relatively easy. I use it to control my GE window unit ac and find that it's easy to regulate the settings via the app, even turning on remotely prior to me arriving home is a breeze. Eco mode is my fav as it senses the temperature and turns itself on/off accordingly. Great app so far. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾

I've had this for a year, last year everything was slow, just like the review stated, but scheduling worked. For that I've given it three stars. But ultimately, it shouldn't be this slow, I'm not sure why manufacturers would use subpar developers to create apps that barely work, it floods the market with useless apps, and demonstrates that this was more of a gimmick, rather than a feature.

**Edit** I followed the instructions listed in the response and now the app is completely useless. The only way to add a device is with the password which GE has placed under the lid of the washer and now after all the use, heat, and water has disappeared. Thanks for nothing. Ever since this app changed completely over a year ago, it is completely useless. None of the notifications work. What is the point of having smart appliances if the only way to use them is with an app that is worthless?

Beyond frustrating. Purchased a brand new washer, and after combing the internet for tips and tricks to make it work, absolutely nothing is allowing me to get my washer connected to wifi. Keeps getting to the screen asking for a password, but there is no password on the washer label. I'm under the impression newer models don't need a password, but rather rely on bluetooth, but that doesn't seem to be working at all. Customer support said a 2nd phone was needed to troubleshoot....

Updated from previous review: I now have full functionality back with this app. While it is still a bit slow to connect to the device, everything works again, even the weather which I actually love seeing while getting the kids ready for school in the morning. Thank you GE for the last update which fixed my issues, potentially I had a bad firmware update the last time and something wasn't working right.

Haven't used the app since last summer due to my product being a window unit AC. Now the app tells me I need to add my product again. I delete and re-add. The issue is it refuses to connect to my product. It doesn't find it on Bluetooth either. I've Uninstalled the app and re-installed and nope. Refuses still. I'm at a loss.

Really very little functionality in the application overall, not that a microwave is that complicated an appliance. The app itself takes a while to load the available products every time you visit the Home page (that is EVERY time, not once per session). Also, since installing the app I get notifications at completely random times during the day that my “kitchen timer” has completed. I don’t recall ever setting a kitchen timer, nor do I see any such option in the application, or on the microwave for that matter. If it was something on the microwave I would have expected something to be a one and done and ignore it, but it happens anywhere between 1-4 times a day with the frequency and times varying each day.

Worthless waste of storage spce on my phone. It took one month for the app to fail. Nothing works. Just using it to power on the only device that I downloaded it for only works 20% of the time. I usually end up walking to the unit to turn it on. The scheduler doesn't work at all anymore. Restarting didn't work. Reinstalling didn't work. I just uninstalled it.

Useless. The touch display on the oven is not great, and I was hoping that the app would provide a more interactive experience. Instead (1) it takes a long time for the app to launch and find the appliance, (2) the app is just as tiresome to use as the oven's display, and (3) it often simply does not reflect what's going on in the oven (timer, temp, etc.). A huge disappointment.

Update: still no improvement to the connection speed. I'm literally never going to buy another GE smart appliance again because of this stupid issue. I hope the app developers all stub their toes. Extremely slow to connect to the appliance. That's all anyone says in any of these reviews. I have other smart outlets that connect through wifi, same as this, and I can control them within seconds of opening the app. With this app, it takes 15-20 seconds every single time. Every. Single. Time.

Update: the app has been fixed so I have updated my review. The only "smart" feature I use is remote starting my oven. Without this capability the app does nothing for me. I'm glad you guys were able to fix this problem. Old review: This app used to work for my oven. It was super convenient to be able to remote start my oven. But the recent update disabled all remote start functionality. Now the app tells me that the warming drawer can only be turned on at the appliance... Please fix this!

The app works, but it works poorly. I've spent more time waiting for the app to reconnect to my appliance than anything else. It does that way too often. I have yet to receive an open door notification for my fridge. It must be set to a threshold different than the onboard alarm tone. I have no idea how long I need to leave a door open to get a notification on my phone, and I don't want to waste the electricity to find out. Also, GE should make this an open API and allow direct, local communication with the appliances for home automation purposes. The IFTTT support for SmartHQ refrigerators is abysmal.

App fails to function on even the most basic level, notifications for timers etc.. go off hours after the event. The remote control functions all say remote control on my stove must be turned on, but it already is. Opening the app takes 10-20s looking at a splash screen before it is usable. If you are considering a GE smart appliance, think again purely because of the app support.

It does allow you to get notified when the dryer is done. However it's slow - slower than you could ever hope - like click wrong and you wanna close the app instead of wait for it to do whatever it thinks it's doing. And the reason to have the app (notification dryer is done) has no options to customize so you can get notified via say a chime or something unique sound wise that would help. And it makes you login - so you can get notified your dryer is done - meaning it's almost impossible for more than one person to use in your house. Did I mention it's slow - because you can re-read this and it will still be connecting.

App is pretty useless so far. Took forever to connect. No password on machine..just udp, but app goes back a screen when i click on UDP. With rhe app you can only SEE what is doing...and you can power it off. You can turn it on, you can't change cycle. App says downloaded cycles doesn't work. Why is this app still on the market being so USELESS. just use your hands.

This app is just ok. It is slow to load, slow to respond to commands and slow to receive alerts from our oven, like when a timer completes. It would be nice to be able to connect directly to the oven without going through a cloud service, like Bosch enables for some of their appliances. Even compared to our other smart devices that rely on a cloud service, the GE oven is noticeably slower to respond.

I thought this was going to be just as horrible as all the rest of them that I've had to set up between the light bulbs the TVs rokus and everything else but this was easier than any of them it tells you what to do you push it done nothing to it it's very simple very good I like it 👍🏼. It might be the only one I've set up that I didn't use 4letter words or throw my phone?

I use this for my washer. Setting up the app is a little tricky, but do-able with technical know how. (You'll have to manually connect your phone's wifi to the appliance for instance.) My main gripe with the appliance is the load time. Opening the app takes a minute because the app connects with the washer every time it loads rather than displaying the last status and loading after.

Utterly worthless. Feature set is decent and the notifications handy (when they work) but the implementation of their server side cloud services are complete garbage. This feature on my brand new range is essentially useless. I did something as basic as bouncing my router and now I cannot get the GE cloud service to recognize my range or connect. Feels more like a GE marketing gemmick than an actual well thought out feature implementation.

Please fixed the bug where you can't use the app to turn an Qpal Ice Maker "off" if it's was out of water (add water indicator on). Still getting "An error occurred - There was an error connecting to your appliance. Please try again." But it now loads faster from home screen at least. 5⭐️'s if you make it compatible with my Android tablet and fix the aforementioned error.😬

Does....not....work. Connected with my air conditioner which was set up last year.....then the application suddenly was unable to see the unit. Subsequent attempts to reconnect have been unsuccessful. Do not waste your time. Uninstalling as we speak.
