Kiwi Browser - Fast & Quiet

Decided to update my review, as I also updated the application. This app has some promising features, though unfortunately it kinda fails in handling the Private Browsing mode. Last review, my tabs were gone. This time, the memory usage is a mess. Two stars because I like the features such as the ability to import-export bookmarks and the ability to use extensions.

Lots of recent improvements, but a few major issues persist after about a year of the team being made aware of them. Specifically, on YouTube, normal portrait view in fullscreen cuts off the left side of the screen, so I have to flip my phone over on every video, and there still isn't an option to disable pull to refresh, which causes minor issues every single time I use the app. Seriously, please give us an option to turn PtR off soon, it's really bad.

Using this browser primary for the dark mode. It would be awesome if the browser respect the Android 10-11 dark mode. So it could be enabled and disabled within the system dark mode settings changes. Recently started experience the problem with back action on many sites. To go back I have to press back several times with a second. Switching to another browser because of that for a while

Used to love this app, I could install desktop browser extensions, some were glitchy, but that's not the apps fault. However the most recent update added "windows", and the app always keeps two windows open. By default when you go to the homescreen and back to the app it switches windows, meaning half the time it forces me a window without my open tabs. I then have to go back to the homescreen and back into the app. What absolutely incompetent functionality, and I see no way to turn it off.

This is the most powerful, versatile and customisable web browser for android I've come across. Full and accessible range of extensions to download from the chrome store, fluid media playback support, the best built-in progressive web app functionality I've tested, lots of settings to configure the UI elements, lightning fast performance and efficient on system resources. The default home page even includes news articles to scroll through. Highly recommended. 👌

Best chrome based browser for Android..period! Biggest advantage is being able to use the desktop extensions on a mobile device. Edit: 04/23/2022 Version 101.0.4951.40 keeps on crashing in 3 seconds after launch, tried clearing cache and unimportant data but no fix. If developers can add a feature to backup extensions that would make life a lot easier for users.

Pretty great browser - except I can't sign into chrome to get my history and everything synced across. I particularly want to use 'recent tabs from other devices'. The "turn on sync" button in chrome settings just appears to do nothing. If this were enabled, it would be 5 stars without a single doubt. Having extensions on mobile is so great, and this would make it perfect.

The app lags so much even on a high end phone, when typing on certain sites. Example Google Translate. I would type and I won't see anything I type for a few seconds and then everything would be typed on screen at once. Very bad experience. This is not the case in any other browsers. This leaves a very bad user experience. I was going to switch to this as my default browser but I'll wait for sometime.

I love Kiwi but, since the last update, the the developers have tweaked with app to make the mic appear on the toolbar always, even when I'm veiwing a page. I don't understand its necessity. I mean previously the mic appeared when I searched for a thing or type an address in the toolbar but now it is appearing always, which doesn't look good. Developers, I request you to restore kiwi its previous look where mic would appear only when I type in toolbar, otherwise it shouldn't appear.

We users currently can only view the simplified version of a webpage when the page first loads. What about all the times I either want to load the page by its default, then I decide to go with the simplified view? That no longer seems to be an option. Everything else continues to work well. This is my favorite browser, and I'm sad that it's not available for my laptop.

Easily the BEST browser for large print or visually impaired users, by far. So glad I found this after testing 12 of the most commonly used Browsers on the Play Store: Useful Features other App Developers Haven't thought of yet include: 1. The ability to change the way you see tabs displayed 2. Great accessibility and Font control 3. Increased font size does not create any visual glitches when using menus or the address bar. In short, very polished. Room for Improvement: Please add an option to have buttons like tab switching on a bottom toolbar while keeping the address / url display at the top of the screen. Great work!

Million points for extentions support when chrome itself can't figure it out! That's what lead me to this browser. Some sites just don't work in Firefox and need chromium but I refuse to be without ublock origin, privacy badger, and decentralizes. Turns out Kiwi is faster than Firefox! Note: homepage cannot successfully be turned off; it always annoyingly loads when url bar is clicked.

Thank you kiwi !! This is the browser i was searching for whole time ! It's literally bringing the extensions of chrome browser of windows which is incredible and unique as no other did that ! There are compatibility issues but the updates fixes that so thanks again !! I have a little request to make the extension called ”Video Colour Enhancer ” more compatible with every site like YouTube, this doesn't work on mobile /Android mode but work just fine with desktop mod please fix it mobile mode.

This browser has given me the best experience so far on mobile. If you like desktop browsing, then this browser is built for you. It as the extension or plugin menu just like desktop browsers, and you can download extensions from the webatore. Again it's protection is cool, has dark mode, ingroup tab... What else do you want from a browser.

Update: I've updated Kiwi Browser and the annoying microphone that was destroying my ears is gone. Five stars again, because I love how fast and good Kiwi is and I don't want to uninstall it because of small mistakes like this one. It's annoying, because I always tap on it by mistake, and Chrome mobile browser doesn't have it.

BUG/GLITCH/WEIRD-STUFF Like the app, but there's some weird graphical glitches happening whenever I switch tabs. It's more pronounced in the classical tab switcher, but also noticeable when using the tab group option for the tab switcher. Also, at times the framerate tanks, drops and gets stuck at 30, which makes the site stutter quite a bit, but AFAIK that's a chromium bug instead. Device is S22U, running at 120Hz, Snapdragon model. Will update rating to 5 once the first thing is fixed.

I have a few ideas to suggest. 1. Add "Play Audio in Background" option . This option will make Kiwi play a video in the background, so that the users can still hear the audio of the video, while they are using other apps like Microsoft Word, etc. 2. In a nutshell, try to learn from Yandex Browser & Firefox ? 😅

Is it just me or is the discover page and search bar a lighter color than before (it was pure black then). I love using this browser's optimized for AMOLED devices night mode but now it's not the same. I really enjoyed that. I've also noticed some colors lighter than average when using nightmode. If you can revert it to how it was before this app definitely deserves a solid 5 stars.

My main browser is Firefox, sorry about that. But I was looking for a second browser so I can have one for personal things and another for work things and although I just started using Kiwi I'm liking it so far. Bonus points for being made in Europe. Tried DuckDuckGo and Edge but neither support uBlock Origin on Android. Kiwi does and it's the reason I gave it a go in the first place. I know some people live off of ads, but I hate them like a vampire hates the sun.

One of the best browsers I've used on Android. Always stable and fast. Great job! Edit: it has a weird visual glitch on YouTube. Specifically in the shorts section. Even did a fresh install and same issue. ( Keep in mind it doesn't do it till later in the video.)

I've been using this browser for months and I've been pretty happy with it until today. I don't know what the issue is but pages won't load and all I'm seeing is a black screen. The only thing I can access is the settings page and when I try to close the settings menu the app just crashes.

Not sure why my review was removed, second time posting about the new issue I have, which is that the top toolbar (with the address, home button, etc.) keeps becoming unresponsive. I have to constantly close the app and re-open it in order to be able to change settings or enter a url.

No problem for several mo's till around 4/5/22. Kiwi browser disappeared, downloaded again.Pages load extremely slow or not at all to where you're left wondering if home Internet is slow or what prob is, product photos disappear while browsing/shopping on Amazon, etc.Under Y.T. vids can read part drop down menu,but text cuts off,left w/ white space & unable to read rest of links, info.Switched to BRAVE Browser & BRAVE Search and that looks good.

Great alternative to Chrome. It's not perfect, there are some minor issues, but the fact that you can use extensions is a major plus. Firefox also allows extensions, but the amount of extensions that are compatible are a bit underwhelming.

Best browser to get desktop experience. Could give full rating if it had an option to on-off night mode automatically on sunet-sunrise Or to follow system theme (which has auto switching of dark - bright on sunset-sunrise). Little annoyed by switching night mode on off daily. Dropped a star only because of this.

Night mode is a bit buggy and also I'd like my videos to switch to landscape mode on turning the phone sideways. Right now I'll have to enable the auto-rotate on my system to do that. Maybe add seek and volume controls on the video playback as well.

The big plus is that you can add extensions. Getting them to work similarly to desktop versions is another story and hardly seamless. Specifically, ads in Facebook proliferate and I don't usually have to suffer with them on the desktop.

It's a really nice alternative, but I'm a bit disappointed because the browser itself lags. I chose this because it allowed me to use chrome extensions, but it lags once I use my extension, which is momentum. I hope that the browser will be better in accomodating chrome extensions.
