This lock was really cool when it worked. I used it a couple of times to get used to how it works. Two hours later, I go to show a friend, and the lock won't connect to my phone. I try turning my bluetooth off and back and on, unpairing/repairing, and even deleting the app and redownloading it. I think I am just going to throw it out. It isn't worth a refund. On the upside, this lock is STURDY. I am positive that it would be great if it actually worked.
Very disappointed. The lock hardly responds or you have to plug it in to a power source to open it. Set up should be simplified & was overdone. The app is slow and the platform it runs off of isn't very good. Everytime you step out of range you need to hold down the power button and attempt to reconnect... forget sharing with friends. If you're putting something behind this lock you rely on or need day to day DO NOT USE! No simplicity in this lock. Not recommended. carry backup power pack to 🔓
DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK or download this app. I wish I would have read the reveiws before buying this. Complete trash and waste of money. Lock can be easily broken into and unlocked with only a small screw driver. There is a video on YouTube showing exactly how easy it is. And the app does not connect to my phone at all. Also the app constantly freezes and I have to restart it and the permissions are very intrusive.
bought two locks for $4 each at Walmart... came home, charged them... downloaded the app... they synced right up, zero effort... just used the QR codes with the app, didn't even have to do anything with Bluetooth, nfc, etc...it does its own thing. I very quickly assigned a pin and a fingerprint to each lock... tested them a few times with and without the phone. And... well....its a perfect system. simple, intuitive... easy. And it works...
This app requires camera permissions. for those who think it's invasive, it's required to scan a QR code which is required to use the device! This app keeps logs of each unlock even if you uninstall/reinstall or even upgrade phones. the power button must be pushed on the lock first before using the app to unlock or connect. sometimes it requires 2 attempts. overall it's a good app. I don't think it's invasive, it works well with my old S8+ and my S10+.
Seems relatively lacking in power. Only able to open the padlock on my shed from roughly 25 feet away and outside. Have to actively connect through bluetooth when you want to use it and the range is limited, as expected with bluetooth. Eventually, when the batteries got critically low, I believe that the battery became damaged somehow which caused it to continually flash a single LED light and not charge when plugged into any power source and USB cable. Cool idea but unable to reliably deliver
Neat lock, picked it up from Walmart on clearance for $7. You can change the manually entry pin so it's basically a normal lock and sharing features can be convenient. There is unfortunately a lot of cons to this lock. The app requires location, phone storage, and camera to even launch the app. Disable any of them later and it won't launch. Your phone will be vulnerable. I wouldn't recommend this lock until they remove all the ridiculous permissions.
I don't know why if I'm using the Bluetooth that this app to be able 2 work it has to be able to see your location have to be turned on and you have to give permission for it to see your media files and your device storage and you location not comfortable with that at all. Why does it need that?????
I like the app and the lock, I love smart tech. but I live where I don't have service, or wifi so it's useless to me because the app requires you to be logged in to use it. it would be ideal if there was an offline mode that allowed you still open remembered locks with the phone, otherwise it's just a really fancy combination lock
I bought this a few years ago and couldn't make a account or use it, just found it In storage and thought I'd finally get to use it and they should have a way better app and customer service now. It's probably worse than it was a few years ago, I'm not sure as I never got to use the lock and never will I'm assuming as I can't even register because the app and website are absolutely horrible I can't believe yall actually sold these to people when I can't even register. Yall did me dirty. shame.
Bought 4 locks on clearance. Best Deal Ever!! If you allow ALL the permissions (they're there for various reasons including the camera for QR reading, bluetooth functions, sharing with or allowing other contacts access, etc.) there haven't been any problems whatsoever. We connected my husband's phone first and then added mine as an authorized access person on the same locks. The app could be made a little easier to navigate and a widget would be nice, but overall I am extremely happy with them!!
Do not get this lock it's garbage. I had the lock stored in the app and haven't use for a while. I try to reinstall the smart Lock using the QR code didn't work, I tried bluetooth didn't work and tried using the serial number no go either. It's a waste of time and money. I ended up throwing it on the ground and it shatter to pieces. CHEAP! CHEAP! CHEAP! And I am not ever buying a cheap one of these again...
Almost completely unusable. So the web site you use to control the device is down. That means if you did not set a passcode, you may not be able to unlock your Klic Lock. I have four of these things that I'll need to break.
Neat feature, but signed up created an account with QRC code on lock. Pealed it off, and now the application won't recognize the lock. The code doesn't work either, after i programmed it three times. There is no way to sign back in, and recover a previously 'synced' lock to phone. Kinda of a waste.
Amazing amount of intrusive permissions just to connect to a lock through Bluetooth. Also, needs data connection to connect to their servers every time you open the app or it will not work. Don't install this app! I'm returning this lock for a refund. 🙁
Needs access to your location, camera, and photos. The app has poor English. Worst of all, the lock was already bound to someone's email so it's a paper weight. It's worthless anyway because the cheap flimsy lock isn't going to stop anyone.
It is much faster to just manually unlock the lock. Cannot connect to lock without data or wifi connection. Selecting some options crashs the whole app. Nokelock works with this lock and is better (can unlock without connection and seems a little faster).
The app worked great for about a year not sure what happened but I have 6 of your locks and for some reason they all disappeared from the app now I can no longer sign in because I deleted the app and re installed it and upon logging in I forgot my password and it will not allow me to reset password.. not sure exactly what happened but whatever it is you guys did... please fix the problem. Just gonna have to buy 6 new locks from another company that cares to fix their issues.. smh
Lost all info for my locks, unable to add new locks. Emailed support, and they didn't even read my email and assumed it was a hardware issue. Now I have two new locks I can't add, and one existing lock which I have to use the PIN to open instead of the app. Sad.
Worked really well "unlocking". Most of the time. Had trouble connecting alot. But found out the hard way that it was a cheap lock. Someone knocked it right off. Cost too much to be that easy to break.
I do I do like it but it's not weatherproof how it's supposed to be and once it messed up it just messed up there's no point having the lock anymore and if it's bomb-proof no it's not a simple metal saw by hand or not it can cut through at ease and what's the point of having Bluetooth if you keep on constantly have to charge it up every three days or two days and the connection of the lock between the main base to the ground Loop it's not that deep like a regular like how a regular combination
loved the idea, wont work, one gate 6 people need access too, loved the concept, but only one person can have access not numerous others as it says. shows they have sent a request but no way to give permission, will be returning to Walmart and buying a lock with better reviews. if you cant add others why bother, this company clearly needs to work in the ap. the lock itself worked fine when I connected too it, was very excited until I realized no one else could have access
IDK what people are talking about. This app is super easy to use. Super easy to unlock your lock with it. No numeric passcode to log on or anything. Just quick easy hit power button on lock hit unlock on app and Bam! Unlocked!
Dude.. you have so many reviews all saying the same thing, you'd think by now you would go "Hey everybody is worried about the permissions and email requirements.. maybe I should explain why they need them." But you haven't. You've even made it so if we don't give you photo and recording permission the app no longer works. It used to on previous versions. So at this point we have to assume you're data mining and selling info.
The lock I set up disappear from the list and it wouldn't let me add a lock i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but, still have the same issue. Been having issues since i brought the lock. Looks like its going back.
basically trash. sometimes phone app will connect to the lock and sometimes it doesn't. Also locks don't hold a charge very long. Don't waste your money on this type of lock.
So far, it sucks. I'll know more, once I get registered. As of now, I can't seem to get a verification code for my email account. I can't imagine why i would ever send my lock an email anyway! Besides, even if i did want to email it, someday, I don't know IT'S email address.
No longer can log in or register Found this lock and decided to charge it and use it again but can not use the app. Good thing I remember my code for it to unlock because I can no longer use Bluetooth to unlock it.
I dont want to install it because it wants access to files that have nothing to do with the lock. Too invasive to my privacy for a bluetooth lock. Deleting app and returning the lock.
I love the concept overall but the whole system is just as inconvenient to use as a lock with a key. It takes a while to charge and set up but that's expected. You have to log into the app every time you use it and there is no saving passwords or biometric login settings, you also have to press the power button on the lock itself every time you use the app to unlock it. All of that and I could have just as easily grabbed the keys to my shed lock and unlocked the door... The concept is great but the overall usability of the app needs major improvement...
