What are the easiest things to knit?
The easiest thing to knit is a scarf, or other flat item, like a dishcloth. The easiest stitch is to knit garter stitch (all knit stitches on both sides). Moving up from there, slightly harder will be to learn to purl, so you can knit "stockinette stitch" (knit one side, purl the other).

What does RS mean in a knitting pattern?
This means that on Row 1, which is the right side of the piece (RS), you will knit all 12 stitches on the needle. Then for Row 2, the wrong side (WS) of the piece, you will purl every stitch. The pattern may now say: Rep Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 4” from the beginning, ending with a WS row.

How long does it take to knit a scarf?
but it all depends on the size needles. 4 inches wide and 3-4 feet long is not that big, plan on 3-4 days if you are just beginning and have only a few hours a day. Re: How long does it take you to knit a scarf? it all depends on how big of needles you use & how thick your yarn is.

What size knitting needles should I start with?
I would start knitting with a medium size needle (medium yarn, medium needles), around a size 7 (4.5mm) or 8 (5mm). These sizes are often used for medium weight yarns and they feel the most comfortable in your hands.

Which is right side of knitting?
You will see that there are definite right and wrong sides to stockinette stitch. Usually the knit side is the right side, but sometimes the purl side is used for the right side. When this is done it is called reverse St st. When a pattern tells you to work in St st, it means to alternate a knit row with a purl row.

What does * mean in knitting?
K means a knit stitch and p purl. K2tog this means that on row 1, which is the right side of piece (rs), you will knit all 12 stitches needle.

How long does it take to learn to knit?
In few words, just learn how to knit and purl. It will take you about 2 weeks (14 hrs) to do stitches consistent enough, but just 2 or 3 days to start seem some (crooked) results. PS: even if you do one stitch per minute, learn to do it properly.

What is the difference between crocheting and knitting?
Both are really methods of looping yarn together, just in different styles. Knitting uses a pair of long needles to form the loops, moving a set of loops from one needle to another. The stitches are held on the needle or “live”. Crochet uses a single hook, to hook the loops together directly on the piece.

How wide should you knit a scarf?
If you are a beginner knitter, you should make a relatively small scarf, enough to keep you warm, but avoid making it so wide that it takes too long to knit. If you are knitting with worsted weight yarn and size 8 to 10 needles, you'll need to cast on 30 to 40 stitches for a nice-sized scarf.

Is it harder to learn to knit or crochet?
Both crafts use yarn to make items, but knitting is done with two knitting needles and the stitches are loops. Crocheting, on the other hand, is done with just one crochet hook and the stitches resemble small knots. Knitting can be easier to learn because only two stitches are used: the knit stitch and purl stitch.

I found it difficult to search because I couldn't see any of the thumbnail pictures unless I selected pattern. So, visually it wasn't worth the effort to have to select every single pattern. Seems like an easy fix??

Empty. No patterns, no nothing! Option to create a profile to possibly link up with Google. No knitting patterns no crochet patterns. Nothing!

I didn't see a single knitting pattern, it was only crochet patterns. It seems like a good app if you're looking for crochet patterns.

Crochet, not knit. Pics dont match descrition. Pics of sweater but title calls it scarf. Pic of vest but title says its a bag. Obviously someone doesnt know knit from crochet, and a scarf from a sweater. Nice for free patterns but not labelled correctly and not knitted.
