KOCO 5 News and Weather

It's no News Channel 9 app, for sure. There are a lot of things that can change for better use. Getting notifications about news I'm not interested in, is getting really old. I just want weather. Idc about the other negative stuff.

I love this channel especially the weather... keeps you up to date and aware of the weather threats....I will not watch any other channel for my news and weather. the whole team feels like extended family!

App crashes whenever you need it, like when a tornado watch has been announced? Great to have it working during that time 👍

Fine except for autoplay on videos. Whenever I open a notification, it automatically goes to an article which is fine but it automatically plays a stupid ad, which is what I don't want. Can't pause it or stop the ad, so in order to read the article in silence, I have to either mute the media or wait for the ad to stop and then pause the video. Frustrating.

Too many push alerts. Need to separate out different types of alerts so I can choose what I want to be notified. As it is now its the app that cried wolf, and if there was a serious weather or news alert it probably goes unnoticed because its buried in other alerts or in my case you get frustrated with junk push alerts and just turn off notifications. Even the Wichita ABC station app has customizable alerts.

Does KOCO actually write ANY news themselves? Is it just one guy with a word processor linking CNN and the AP? I'm pretty sure that's the case. Your Google feed is likely more reliable.

Bugs to pick out permanently so that inset settings are more personalized toward the weather. This is critically important, rebuttal is not, the southerly broadcast sector is presently/currently vulnerable, and the snags are bugs, the app keeps stopping. An update is required, to the app itself, although if it is not available at any time however, an uninstall must come soon for me as an app user.

I highly recommend this app it gives the information you and I need to be safe during tornadoes and much much more so I highly recommend this app I truly do you won't regret it

After installing the app, I went in to check the radar. Even though I told it to "find me", the app was not responding to that command. I think it was still trying to load up all of the ads. Furthermore, the radar went back for 6 hours and was very slow getting to the current conditions. I went back and uninstalled the app because there are much better apps for weather out there.

Not what I was expecting. The setup is dumb. Just let me get to setting instead of having wait while some damn AI bot asks questions. After unchecking breaking, covid, and politics the app opens with nothing but political and covid news. Where the F is the weather news, which I did have checked.

Terrible app for streaming. Push notifications don't take you to the news story when selected. Full of trackers.

it would be a great app except, there stupid unpaid commercials/promos and you can never get through a f ull newscast without it freezing up and the end of a commercial block. i have tried the app on several devices and the same result freezing at the end of the commercial/promo blocks.

It ignores user preferences. Did you take the time to turn off push notifications for everything except for immediate severe weather? This app doesn't give a flying flip. It will continue to notify you about everything under the sun while draining your battery.

Would be nice to turn auto play ads & video. I just want to read the article on my mobile device. The sizing isn't correct either, everything gets chopped of, especially at the top under breaking news you can only read part of it.

Too many notifications. I've turned off all the notification settings and it still does not stop the notifications from popping up on my phone about every 30 minutes. I can see the exact same thing on Facebook so I just deleted the app

Cannot get notifications! I have not gotten any notifications for any of the storms for the last 2 nights from Channel 5. I have checked all my settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no success. I love watching the news and weather on KOCO.p I have a Houston telephone number, but live in OKC. Ironically, I received notifications from the sister station in Houston about the severe thunderstorms last night, but not anything from the KOCO app. Very disappointing.

I love channel 5 and the channel 5 app

The content itself is fine but, it's the same 3-4 stories a day everyday. And the ads...wasn't there anything a Heisman Trophy winning football player could do besides work for a heat and air company? Try to get some new sponsors.

Everyone is great at channel 5. Damon Jonathan and many others we watch and they always keep you updated on the weather

When it's time for severe weather and my phone goes off at 4 am waking us up I want to know whats going on as soon as possible every second counts but yet I have to watch a 20 sec ad before I can watch the weather. Takes long enough to load as it is. Gonna die from a tornado watching and ad

Would uninstal if not for their weather. Not sure i believe their biased content. Selective reporting is not a good thing. Been with them for years and years. Only good for the weather.

This app needs serious work. Window sizes wrong, cant zoom on photos, poor navigation, incorrect links. Not to mention push notifications should happen for important info (ie Major traffic issues, water outages, food recalls, etc instead of all the feel good Stitch stories.) Do I really need to be alerted to some kid in Wisconsin selling lemonade to buy masks, or some guy helping an elderly lady across the street? And ALL push notifications alerting us to news conferences come AFTER they happen

You can't turn off push notifications, sound, or vibration! Also the app interface is so terrible.

I really just use this app to live stream the morning news and it's become useless. Constant interruptions and error messages.

I used to have this app and it was great. I just installed and couldnt get into the menu. Uninstalled. Will go to 4warn or somewhere else. Too bad, because i liked koco.
