Komodo 8 is the Android release of this prize-winning chess engine. Komodo has finished first and second in the last two TCEC championships, the most prestigious online computer chess event, and also won the last two CCT events.

Some people are complaining about crashes.You need to open the komodo 8 app and click configure. Stock fish 8 is the strongest chess engine beats komodo 8 most of the times or either draw.
Little bit strong enough to beat stockfish 8 in 1 thread with 16 hash on 30 second game LOL

It crashes with latest Android version (5.1.1). Instead of releasing a patch to fix the issue they release a new version and ask for us to purchase it yet again. That aside, when it was working the engine was very good.
Same problem on PC version. In Stockfish you can set the playing strength between 1 and 20. No such option here. Also, Stockfish is free.
It is very slow and also you can not adjust its playing elo according to you..The beauty lies in adaptation :)

Hi team Komodo. The Syzygy files I understand to be endgame files. Are these something in need to download first to use? Or are they part of the app download? I have seen under the Configure komodo button a option stating "use Syzygy" do i simply need to click this in order for the engine to use the endgame tables? Please help. Thank you :)
gets absolutely blown away against stockfish
In many pieces board sometimes finds better plans than stockfish
Loss to stockfish 7 ...in analyze this app........Stockfish 7 vs Komodo 8 1-0
Consistently locks up device when using latest droidfish. Using Android 4.4.4 on Samsung S5. Works fine with other chess GUIs..however consistently looses with big margin to Stockfish 6. Something isn't right.
Greetings!!! Komodo is truly a strong and magnificent chess engine. But I was wondering if there would be a discount for us Komodo 8 users who would be upgrading to Komodo 9? Just a thought =) Komodo is truly a world class chess engine hands down!

Not shure if I'm doing some thing wrong tried two devices and two programs droidfish chess freezes after a few moves and chess for android after five moves it resigns for the komodo engine..... Thanx I got figured out it beating every computer I have lol
not that I could beat Stockfish but great for analysing.
After the last update I can call the app for configuration, but still get a "cannot open /data/user/0/com.kommodochess.komodo/lib/libkommodo8.so" no such library" error in droidfish. In PGN Master I can select the engine but it still uses stockfish 5.
Plays beautifully! Works great on droifish beta and syz tablebases! Keep up the amazing work!
