You have to wait 3 screens before being able to use the app for payments, it can be anywhere from 20 seconds to 40 seconds. You are way better off just getting the tmoney app, cheaper (less service fees) and it just works. And what is not mentioned clearly before using the app, you need to have reliable Internet connectivity for it to work.
The payment screen always takes a while to load up, which can be a problem if buses/subway stations are busy, as you'll be the awkward tourist fumbling with your phone. Also, it might be buggy with transfers, as our apps stopped working one day all of a sudden. I'd recommend getting a physical card instead.
Super horrible experience. Refill and gate pass rate less than 25%. You have to keep trying until it passes through. No reason is given on the failure. I have two post 2017 modern phones with perfect 100% pass rate with NFC Google Pay but not with this app. There was once in Hongik University station which took me 20mins+ trying more than 8 machines many times each to get through the gate...
Quite nice option to avoid using actual physical card that would be thrown away after day or week of the visit to Korea. I was able to pay for my transportation and in convenience stores, sometimes to surprise of a cashier. From time to time UI was switching from English to Korean, but it doesn't add much problem.
It'd work way better if the card was integrated with Google Pay. Also, the insistence that this app be set as the default payment service is unnecessary. As long as "pay with currently open app" is enabled in the settings it will work.
Constantly checks for internet connection, causing lags or block when trying to pay w TMoney. This makes app very hard to use on buses, since you have to enter/leave really quick. Should be useful if can be used w/o constant checks for internet connection.
Want some excitement during your trip to Seoul? This app is awesome until it stops working. Add some flair and adventure to your commute with an unpredictable app!
At first i was able to use it for my transportation fres such as bus taxi and subway then suddenly during the last 2 days of my stay in korea, it doesn't work anymore. I couldn't use it also to pay in convenience stores and restaurants. So I still prefer using the tmoney card.
Worked well for about 2 days, then left us stranded twice, despite having funds and stable data connection; still needs a lot of work on stability. Would not recommend.
I was super excited to use my phone as a tmoney card in korea. problem is that it takes wayyyyy too long to load the card. the network does not connect for several tries so you are jamming up the turnstile wile you are furiously hitting retry hoping the card loads. i got a physical card after one subway ride. keep up the work as id love fir this to work better!
- It takes time to load the payment page - Cannot recharge by cash via machine at subway station. It can read the amount but when I selected the amount to recharge from machine, tbe screen back to home screen. - It deducted money, but the gate showed error and can't pass through.
Used to work well, now it dont work. Please fix. Is just a frozen page. Im glad I didn't put a lot of money. I will have lose it all.. I think it needs a ln update.. For now. Is not working I recomd to still use T money card.
Often says you are not connected to a network, even when you are, making the service unreliable. I strongly recommend buying a physical ticket instead.
Do not use for subways. Can drop unexpectedly and keep you from quickly getting through turnstiles(gates).
Already paid and now cannot use. Can't login. Asked to find password but app says "User does not exist" tried to register, app says my email is in use... I already paid for the app and now I'm locked out since the last update.
Kept saying I wasnt connected to the network when I cleary am and locking me inside the subway station. Im literally stuck here as I type this! do yourself a favor and Do NOT get this app!! just get yourself a actual card 😡
Dont use this app! Just succeeded once then it can no longer load. Wasted 3000 won for the card as well as 3000 won of value!!! They should unshelf this app!
The card should also be made available on Samsung Pay (foreign vesions, USA, Canada, not just Samsung Pay Korea etc.. ) and Google pay to centralize everything.
Worst apps I ever tried. Might even report this as scam. 0% pass through rate. Don't install this unless you want to lose your money or stared by long angry queue.
Died on me halfway after using it for a week. Had to pay another 3000 won for another tcard and also lost 8000 that was in the card. It's better to use a physical card this app is rubbish.
App does not open after recent update. Glad I only charged small amount of money which I can't even access now.
Only works with data signal or Wi-Fi. For tourists not good as SIM cards are a rip off in korea
The app has been unresponsive for weeks. Even uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing
The charge 3,2% commission when charging with credit card Not fairly displayed before paying the "not making any sense" electronic issuance fee Just another rip off for tourists
The developers of this app definitely need to do some bugfixes on this app and refine the NFC function. Using this app for public transportation in Korea is uncomfortable and stressful because of all the bugs. The NFC isn't always recognized correctly or sometimes not at all and sometimes I had to switch to the NFC cardmode to get it to be recognized. On some buses it didn't work at all.
