Generally works really well. Quite fancy if I compare it with the apps the competitors are offering. Like the Chromecast support. Pity their AndroidTV app is being blocked to be used outside your home. Would otherwise be ideal to use from a Xiaomi TV stick while on the go.
KPN iTV app is instable, screen sometime turn black, you have to wait for it to return to normal. De app regularly has problems loading . During navigating through the app it is sluggish in reacting one sometimes has to wait for up to 5 sec or so before is is back or simply restart.
I've been a client for many years. This app is a wonderful option for when you're on your way. However, it doesn't work as promised. Many failing tweaks/ features have been mentioned in earlier comments. Adding to that, not all channels have a program description nor have the option the watch missed programs (RTV-7 f.e.). Which is specially a nuisance when you want to keep up with news from abroad. Noticed the problem Jan 2020, still exist today. Fixing all of this, finally, would be great!
Tv guide and live view are intuitive and work well with Chromecast. It is really annoying that I often have to repeat my login (possibly after an update). There is no personal data that requires extra protection and I have better things to do with my brain power than remembering my KPN password, so I shouldn't have to look it up every 2nd time I use this app. Please developers, work on saving the password and favourite channels better. Otherwise a good app.
💩 Doesn't work. Give you the info of program and it doesn't load.
Slow. Much too slow. What else would you expect from a state sponsored market monopolist.
Frequently, programs stop to reload, usually when something of interst is going on. Very annoying. I also use Netflix and it is able to show without interruptions for reloads. So the technology is available and therefore I do not understand why this KPN app is so unreliable.
Decent app, boots a bit slowly, but does the job. One improvement I can think of is adding the option to select ultra low video quality when on 3G, giving e.g. 3 hours of video per 1 GB. Sometimes high data rates are not needed and therefore too expensive.
Difficult to navigate, unclear. When checking a movie/series content and you return to look further, you start at top of list again. No filter, only to exclude kids stuff. And every bloody time you have to put in the code for the auto used kidslock. Needs much more tweaking.
Hindhi channels are not playable Bad!
it doesn't provide even 0.25% of promised experience. watching on demand now in plus packet it's jus same title repeat it 4 times under different categories. to read any description of a movie or series it's left pretty much to the last click before clicking Play. which is stupid, better will be off with additional Info button at the Title name. IT HANGS UP! SO MANY TIMES. And the pop out.Sorry. blah blah.sender.cant reach.with so many customers,with so much competitors I aspect better job.
I was told that this version is improved, but the 'off-by-one' issue with the mapping of favorite channels to all channels is still there for higher channel numbers. I would love to have subtitles (888) with BBC1 and BBC2 programmes...
Since the new update the app demands to be connected to the wired kpn home network. Can't use the android tv app any longer, I have a device that's connected via WiFi. Led us to cancel our entire tv subscription, even considering other Internet providers.
I was a client of ziggo for many years, and recently changed to kpn to use fast glasfiber internet. The tv options of this app are Abominal, to say the least. KPN clients are tortured with long series of commercials just to watch television they payed for. With the ziggo app you can always fast forward the commercials. With KPN iTV you don't have that choice. This app is completely useless to me, as I lose my patience, and give up every time. I never thought I would miss Ziggo so much, so soon.
Does the job but... Never works with a VPN (even if it's set to a Dutch server). No PiP. I always swipe to a different channel when grabbing my phone. And no way to disable this.
UPDATE 2020-0419: reset my review. With the update of yesterday all 'favorite channel' markings were gone again. So it seems that updating this app is a bad idea... UPDATE 2020-04-10: When introducing the latest update (6.6.0) the previous favorite-channel indications remained!! Both on the tablet version and on my phone. I have adapted my rating, three star as I still have see if the other app functions are ok as well.
Works as expected, chromecast support is good enough to do ditch my second decoder. Only drawback I found is that skipping support is gone when using chromecast

Just watched a program that was on two days ago, and the app was working fine. Starting, pausing, skipping commercials.. 😉 worked fine.
crashes everytime i select a tv channel
Still issues with app performance: programs when watching on demand never start when they should, one has to move the cursor and now not even able to cast on screen
I switched from Ziggo to KPN, and this app is missing some important features. Please add at least a watchlist, to bookmark items I want to watch later and so I can continue watching at a later moment without having to remember it's name and use search.
Video issues when changing from portrait to landscape, and no system wide Picture in Picture. Unusable.
Excellent with exception to language options. Eg Eurosport, only in Dutch. A pity as the Dutch really don't have the top commentators on most sports
It doesn't feel very intuitive. Recommendations are not very good, and sometimes the replay functionality stops and you have to watch the whole episode again (because of ads you cannot fast forward). It does what it says, but no more than that.
