How it works

Kudo Coach monitors your heart rate or power for each training session and calculates a Training Load. The Training Load is a combination of the session's duration and intensity, which gives us a better idea of the training stress your body has experienced.

A weekly training plan is then built based on your recent weekly Training Load. The training plan is broken down using Periodisation which is a tried and tested training technique used to break down your plan into periods. Each period is designed to prepare you for the next training period , and ultimately your event.

An interesting application that allows you to distribute the training load throughout the year, for amateurs it is not easy. There are some mistakes in calculating the training weekly load, but these are minor details. Some moments: - the app has a set of workouts that it offers according to your free time and position in the plan, but it looks a little random. For example, in the initial basic stage of the plan, I am constantly offered training to develop sprint qualities, I probably need to build a base and not work in the red zone from the start. - I was unable to connect speed, cadence and heart rate sensors to the app. Perhaps the application does not support the ant + protocol. -the application is constantly changing orientation, despite the fact that I have the screen rotation lock turned on. In any case, there are more positive aspects than disadvantages.

The App is helping to be more structure when planning my training. I love the fact that workouts are seamless in sync with my bike computer. Also, it's helping me to enjoy the indoor trainings. I'm still struggling with the App heart rate zones though as they look slightly different than the zones in Garmin and Strava. Nevertheless, I fully recommend the app

Kudo Coach is easy to plan and adapt sessions, especially adapting overall workload. Just what I was looking for. Training load is an effective way of assessing and comparing effort and benefit achieved. There is also useful training advice on hand. Still getting used to the App but so far been great!

Amazing. So glad I discovered this app. It really helps me to plan my training in a very effective and flexible way, adapting the training load to my goals and my available time. Plenty of training schemes to chose from and possibilities to log my training from multiple devices. And whoever has designed the UI deserves a gold medal. It's so clean, intuitive and well made with colour code consistent throughout the app. I love this app, really.

Beautiful interface and functionality at a very sensible price. I don't care for the social aspect of indoor training and I don't care for the virtual aspect as well. I need clear instructions when and how to ride. That's what this app does. It combines the best training features of all the platforms I have tried, plus more, for a fraction of the price. One thing that needs fixing - the screen rotates even with the orientation setting on lock before the workout starts.

Very user friendly interface, good variety of workouts, super flexible in terms of planning and also counts your other activities cardio load (although it names them "rides"). To be a complete coach, it could also propose strength workouts. Messages are also helpful. I started to train for triathlon and it doesn't cover that well (it could be an option were it would be more targeted to that): the only reason I haven't subscribe yet. Be aware that, after trial, app doesn't work at all.

Tried a few other options and found this app quite by chance. I've been impressed with its intuitive interface, ability to draw on both heart rate and power data, structured training options, and flexibility (i.e. if your plans change). Fantastic value too. And I had a query for the developers, to which I received a very prompt and helpful response. I am very happy so far.

I've been using the app about 2 to 3 hours a week constintly analysing , updating and double checking . It gives u all the information u upload in a easy way to understand and if u still don't understand they go and explain it as well. My fitness has improved by about 240% in just this year and in fact have a pretty high hope of making world champs in a about 2 to 4 years if all goes to plan . Something to always keep in mind is consistency and the app does a good job of reminding that. Big thx

Easy to understand and well put together plans. Well explained rationale and regular messages from the coaches. Fast response to any queries, with clear personalised answers. The readout is not as clear as some, with the diagram of upcoming efforts not easy to read and is a very small part of the display. It is a matter of personal preference but I would like to see what agonies await and for how long. Overall, I'm enjoing the app, with continuing info and encouragement keeping me honest.

I love how the app automatically creates and adapts a training plan for you. There are plenty of sessions to choose from and being able to select one based time is hassle free. The best feature of this app for me is the ability to quickly send sessions to my Garmin edge based on power zones or heartrate zones depending on if I'm on the indoor trainer or out on road (I have no power meter on the bike). Sadly the app does not support ant+ yet, which if it did, it would be a 5* app for me.

Great app, simple to use and meets my training need for a very reasonable price. It's still not as polished as the others but this rough diamond has great potential. I really like how workouts are suggested and you can change workouts very easily. The dashboard makes it easy to see your weekly progress at a glance as well as what the following weeks will look like.

I really enjoy this app for a lot of reasons, and if the "Ride" option's data points transferred over to Strava a bit better (as in no negative distance or cadence readings) I'd completely cancel my Zwift account. Being a S&C coach I love the metrics and periodization; they really improve the experience and gives you the feeling that you're working towards an identified goal. The app's interface, aesthetic and functionality are brilliant; and all periodization principles are well executed!

I use Kudo Coach as a free version, and I must say I am pleased with what it offers me. There is not many apps that can calculate a basic training load per week building up to events while still using the free version. The app is VERY simple to use! It syncs perfectly with Garmin or Strava and I think Polar as well. You can easily adjust your training plan with a basic % slider if you feel you want to increase or decrease the load per week. It is easy to view and adjust your daily goal, even if you cant to the planned workout. Great App! Saving up for the paid version. Note: Everything works better with a powermeter.

Update: very fast and professional response to my complaint. Both issues have been resolved. Kudos to the Kudo team! Original message: Unfortunately not a mature app: 1. tried to input all profile data, but after several attempts it does not save my input (training days and training volume) 2. some of the information is not readable, either unscrollable or simply on the edge of my phone screen A pity because it sounded quite promising.

Kudo coach did alot for me since i joined and subscribe to them,before i didn't know how to train or approach road cycling.I made alot of mistakes, over training ect.Since i subscribed i did the right training at the right time and the right amount.The perfect program!!! with coaches that help me all the way to the top.I have gained and improve with leaps and bounds.Thank you all Kudo coach .Charles from South Africa.

I'm on the 1 month free trial, and it's...ok. Pros are the flexibility of choosing days and rides, indoor or outdoor and training options. Cons: I did the 20 min FTP test and there was almost no tension after the warm up period, I was in the bike's highest gear, and I cant sync my Fitbit watch for my heart rate. This may be a functionality flaw of the app, I hope someone will see this and respond how to do ir.

I have been a keen cyclist for years but have always struggled with increasing my endurance. Having Kudo Coach has been awesome. I entered the details of my planned big events and Kudo Coach did the rest. Creating an easy to follow plan that has given me the confidence to follow it making improvements sling the way. I'm still using the free version but will be paying for the premium package very soon.

Really great training app with lots of workouts and parameters for checking and improving your bike fitness (also takes account for runs, weight workouts etc.). The best part is that the plan adapts to your availability during the week, and you can also add multiple goals with different priorities. The devs respond almost instantly to emails and the communication is superb! Cant understand why more people dont use it.

Edit: 3 to 5 Stars. The APP is a solid 4 stars. I gave it 5 because of excellent and timely help from the developer. My issue that led to my bad review was mostly my fault and not understanding how the app worked. It was not clear when setting up for a total newbie like me, however this is a coaching app and the coaching team resolved my difficulty. I look forward to the app helping me achieve my goals.

Edit: Got my issue resolved on my own. Still I would like the app to support bryton devices - that's the only issue. Because of support's reaction and willingness to help, I add one more star to the review. Would be great if I could just set workout as done - my device (Bryton) won't synchronise with kudo. The rest is amazing though!

It keeps you motivated, has the right level of challenge & is great for developing healthy cycling habits. Bought the premium version, it's great value for money. This app is exactly what I was looking for. It displays my cadence, HR, power, and ride time while indoor cycling in a clean interface. It also displays averages of those data points and seemlessly connects to my bluetooth power, cadence, and HR sensors. And it uploads to Strava. Perfect!
