Category : Maps & Navigation
I previously reviewed this app, which simply does not work for me at all. The developer responded with "The app works fine and users are happy with it". I find it hard to imagine a less helpful response. I have internet access, as I'm writing this review and have downloaded the app. However, routing on the app still gives a "There is no route message" regardless of starting point or destination. Useless.
The routing is almost perfect, but it's limited to one POI source, and lacks google maps, TomTom maps, etc. So you get very basic maps, with almost no points of interest (POIs): mostly just gas stations. Sadly, that alone makes it almost useless if you want to plan a route with a few stops for food or lodging. I've found that the MyRoute website works better, (than this app's website) since it at least has multiple map sources, however its route-following during navigation isn't as good :/ What I wouldn't give for one solution that just worked.
Great app. It does what I want it to do. I plan routes in the Kurviger web site, and I use the Kurviger Pro app for navigating along the routes. I haven't tried creating routes in the app. A few things I like about Kurviger compared to Calimoto (which is what I was using previously): There are "shaping points" as well as waypoints, which helps to reduce the clutter. You can name the waypoints (e.g. "Lunch here"). If you click on point in the web site, it tells you the time and distance estimate to that stop, which is helpful for planning stops.
Great routes many laughs and you should be prepared to get stranded at some point on a "road" that's more a gravel path. Including that it was a great choice for my tour development was bringing it forward (2019) I paid (gladly) 10 bucks because I was happy of not having a subscription based system that gave me amazing navigation options to work with my PC. And it's just gone now?! Subscribe... But now you seem to have removed the pro version without proper announcement etc? Why? This sad...
Confusing, dated interface which is tricky to get used to. Different subscriptions and no real info on how to manage them, or what subscriptions you have.
Free Android version on a tablet. Easy to use and could be great, but, and maybe due to the open source maps, on my first route attempt there is a gap along the Blue Ridge Parkway it will not bridge regardless of how close the waypoints.
They have done the difficult part, but fail with the interface for usability in the app itself, to create routes, it takes a while to get used to it. It would be great to have a simpler way to try the pro version.
User experience is not the best, but functionally very good. Great when used with the website. Voice navigation via a headset is perfect and customizable. Maps and navigation cross border works well.
Appreciate this app. Purchased the PRO version. Lots of options. The free version does have ads, but they are not in a way as to interfere with functionality.
All the features I downloaded this for are only available on the Pro paid version. What is the point of a free version for trial if you can't actually do anything worthwhile with it? Uninstalling and onto the next one.
Nice app, just a shame that the ability to search for UK postcode's is so poor. (even in the Pro and web versions) For example if I enter the postcode for where I work, not only does it not find correctly it but i'm given given 'Heathrow Terminal 5B' as a result, my works postcode does have a 5 and a B in it, but that’s all!
I have Kurviger Pro which appears to have been removed from the app store. We'll it no longer works and I have no recourse. Not happy. Great app when it worked.
I've used many routing and map apps in the last years (mostly free ones though). For getting motorcycle roadtrips nothing beats Kurviger to be honest.
Routing around Toronto seems poor. The app picked mostly straight roads even when I selected start and end points in areas I know to be good rides.
Useless. The website version works great. Free app is garbage and does nothing. Don't pay for the app. Use the web version for free.
As a OSM contributor it's nice to see a app that utilize the power of OSM. Keep it up and I'll keep mapping.
If the app only runs with supscription, it should not be tagged as "in-app purchases" but explicitly be a "paid app" in store already.
I barely used the free version because I loved it so much. Almost instantly bought the pro version, best purchase in my Moto-Life ;)
Don't bother with this version!!! Nothing but junk and because it offers nothing in this version, I wouldn't think of purchasing the full!
This is my #1 app for on-pavement motorcycle trips. Easy to use, and awesome curvy road feature
not what I expected. useless app. I dont see any roadtrip made by other biker. google map can replace this app.
Love the app. A great addition would be a "Prefer unpaved roads" option.
Haven't seen anything that would prompt me to buy. Didn't record any trips and doesn't give directions.
I've used Kurviger for years now and always loved it! It provides many options, but you have to learn how to use it before thinking it's a poor app. They've recently changed their platform to a paid model, and frankly I don't blame them! They've more than earned the money they should be making from this app and from their website. Keep up the great work!! The new system, which requires a separate subscription, allows you to plan out all your segments online with different modes for different legs. You can now have the same route planned, but avoid highways in certain areas while allowing highways in other areas. This is so helpful when planning to cross borders or major bodies of water where the only route offered is technically a "highway." Previously, it was very difficult to map it all at once because you could only select one option for your whole route. Great job!
