2020 new version is working now better. Less crashes. Much improved stability. One issue I found that playback to scroll time will not replay the selected time every time. Many times it jump back to the last point of the playback. So to select a exactly moment in the stream can be difficult. Would be great if I can not only selected a date but also the when I go thru playback to find what I looking for.
Useless. So now I get a screen with 4 huge ratio buttons on and reduced size actual pictures. Ratio buttons that I set once and never need to see again. Also selection of the 4 square picture layout never works unless you choose another layout first. And finally, the mainstream/substream keeps constantly re setting to sub stream every time I load the app, even though my actual DVR is always set for mainstream. Do you have testers ? If so, change them.
Most of the time, unfortunately, it does not communicate with the device, or you have to open and close the software several times and wait 10 or 15 minutes for it to connect. Most of the time it shows pictures only with home internet and not with mobile internet. This is a weakness because you may be traveling and need to view camera images and only have mobile internet
v2 of this app will not connect no matter what I tried. I went to the kguard security website [find it below under developer website entry at bottom of this page] and downloaded v1.1.1 app, installed it and it connects without any issues. At the kguard security website click on support, page down to NS/BR/HD/ST Series Android, click on 1.1.1, download file and install it on your device. I downloaded to my PC then transferred to my phone using USB cable and installed it using the file manager. NOTE: make sure you disable auto update for this app in google play or it will reinstall the new version and overwrite the old version rendering it useless again.
Always restarting and returning to default settings when accessing through the mobile app. Time doesn't synchronize automatically after restart. Please fix it. Thanks
Cannot get the cctv to work on mobiles data. Will only work on same WiFi. The old KviewQR app worked perfectly. The apple version still works great. This only this android app that isn't working
I need this app so I can remotely access the cameras. Like other reviews, most of the time I could only access the app for few seconds and the preview will display error page. So frustrating :/ KView QR is the worst btw
I've been installing kguard for year's as a budget system as it works fine and does what it's supposed to. Apps were only ok. Always preferred apps from Dahua or Hikvision. For myself, had to be Kguard due to budget and what they offered. Worked ok over the years. Today I logged onto my wife's phone too use the Kguard pro app What a really pleasant surprise. Wow. 5 stars because the app just really pleasantly surprised me. Technology wise and compatibility issue could still be improved.
Okay for initial viewing. Once I want to do playback, it goes offline. Since no one is watching them all the time and I dont often stay where the dvr is, playback function is important for me. If I cant playback on my phone, its almost useless
I installed a newer kguard DVR and had to switch from the original kview app to this one for my phone. Although I prefer the older apps layout better this one does the job. My only complaint is that it's slower to load the images.
I was able to access this on my Samsung Android Tab A6 until I accidently selected mainstream for picture which was on sub stream. Please kindly help me in getting the default app. I have reloaded the app. Goes back to the same doesn't work. I used port 2000 when it worked. Please help.
Works better, but still not great, can't connect to cameras on mobile signal but can on WiFi so pointless really. Used to work fine everywhere. EDIT, Since last update doesn't start connected. Back to how it used to work.
As soon as the app is opened, it crashes and restarts after several seconds. The camera loading speed is also very slow although I have used a high speed connection. Needs urgent fix.
Motion detection messages are driving me mad. Have tried everything to block or deactivate, nothing helps. Previous version was much better. Cameras shows offline takes ages to load and then offline again. Please please please fix this urgently!
This is quite possibly the worst app I've ever used in my life! It will not sync my phone to the DVR at all! The manufacturer will not respond to my cries for help and everything I find online is in Chinese This was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I highly recommend going to Walmart and buying their equipment
It's pointless when because only connects to wifi not mobile data.. also it wants the mobile to be close to cameras in order to connect, it certainly defeats the purposes of the app because if I'm home I dont need the app. I only need it when I'm not home how ever it wont work
not liking the app at all It constantly disconnects and can watch only a few seconds of live stream. I have to close it constantly and re open in order to see a few seconds again
I like the new app. One improvement would be to remember the screen selection for the different DVRs rather than defaulting to always show 3x3 when I click another device.
Don't buy this security System. There is no support for it. You can email them all you want, but they will never respond. The app crashes a lot and they haven't updated the software on the DVR in more than a year. Worst service ever.
What happened to your kviewqr app. It seems to have disappeared and this one does not work. We still have a older box, WE NEED THE KVIEWQR APP BACK
Adds great functionality to my aging CCTV system. Saving video and images to phone is a great feature, no longer need to use a USB stick.
With the new upgrade, I can hardly load the real time video from my cellphone. It seemed to be a bad move. Not a reliable Cameras anymore!
After the upgrade is not working properly. I deleted and reinstalled app, same problems. My phone is Samsung S9. Clearly needs some serious attention by the developer
The device/app works 85%. The quality is very good. I still want to setup my dyndns account and see it it will give me 100% up time. Other than that i must say that my analog camera works and i must still check when i add some ip cameras to my same setup.
Crashes every time on first open then on the next time i open it i have to re-add all cameras. I see this is a common issue based on other reviews. I use a mate 20 pro. My friend has the same issue on his galaxy s7 as well as my wife with her galaxy note 9. Is there an earlier version that works properly?
Always shows offline.. Connects.. The offline again. Literally more offline then online. And motion detection notifications drive me insane(edit 2020) as per my review from last year.. Same problems different year
App is very slow and we often cannot get into cameras to view. We have a 200mbps fibre ag home. Definitely not suited for emergencies.
I just wish kGuard would address the issue with their systems not being able to upload to Dropbox any more. This very important feature stopped working years ago across multiple storage devices (DVR's analogue & Hybrid systems) I like many other users have complained about this problem for years without a solution or even acknowledgement from "support".
