KXAN News

The KXAN site has gotten so bad that you can't read any article without a barrage of pop up ads! I understand that ads are key to producing a website...but the endless pop-up ads are excessive and annoying!

New redesign is TERRIBLE. Too much screen real estate taken up with what some UI person THINKS looks good but just wastes space trying to be pretty, and if you don't want to follow topics, you can't get rid of that idiot banner. It's not as bad as KVUEs, but it's almost there and light years worse than the prior version. Ugly, slow and annoying.

This app is horrible, the previous kxan weather app was displaying blank screens and now I know why. I don't understand why after working so hard to fix all the previous app bugs they go and redesign this app completely introducing a ton of new headaches and more bugs to fix. I'm going to uninstall this hot mess as soon as I send this review, this is ridiculous. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Previously I could see weather radar, hourly forecast, 7-day at the press of a button, not anymore!

The redesign of the app is a disaster. It hangs, crashes and when it does open, the design itself is a mess. Weather videos are often out of date. Fire the folks who designed this app. Rewrite and relaunch the app, with competent design. Just terrible.

Hate that the video for story or add plays automatically as one who prefers to read the story. Videos should be muted with user being able to unmute or video only play if viewer chooses. Being halfway through the story & having the video delay start is annoying & sends me to other news apps instead.

This new app. Does not work for weather. The last one was slow and the 7 day forecast disappeared. Been using it for years. Fixing to get rid of this new one and try Keye.

App worked great until this week. I cannot access anything past the KXAN title page. I have go to the website to read any story. Update: Another week later, and still doesn't work. Just comes up with KXAN logo and stays there. Maybe time to change to a different station for local news.

Forced auto ads play. I prefer to read the news Every article now has a video that auto plays. The video has an ad, which you are forced to watch for 5 seconds before pausing. No peace and quiet. I am uninstalling.

Was a good app until recent changes. The format changed-now can't pick which news articles you wish to read. Also now Too many ads pop up so much that it prevents news articles from coming up. Love Kxan but please go back to old format

I've tried most, if not all, Austin area news apps and this one is hands down the BEST! Great layout, great reporters, news, weather, sports, features! 👍👍

It's mostly ads. One story shows up three times on a page. You can't just read a story; video WITH ADS plays automatically. Kinda useless.

Nice to look at news but I'm deleting because your push notifications tell me about certain news and when I click what I want to read it just routes me to the home page and not the specific article. Thanks

New forced update plays even more ads, now with pop-up ads when you open the app. Ads before and between every video. After the latest required update for "bug fixes" it no longer updates.

Poor editing of articles, I am uninstalling due to my child being able to write better worded articles. Not to mention articles that leave you hanging because it just ends for instance "he is now unable to..." to what? Dance? Stand? Get mail? I'll never know... more frustrating than informational.

App freezes when I scroll to read rest of article.

This is a great app and keeps me updated through out the day. I wish it had more follow up stories be but it does have top local news weather and traffic.

This app got stuck on the first stories and never changed or showed new stories. Also said I was not connected to internet-- to reload.

Can not get into app. Shows meter with no connection, however, my connection is on and good for all other apps. Have uninstalled & reinstalled several times. Unacceptable

Best Austin and surrounding areas coverage....

Very high end enhanced alerts of lightning and frost come winter. Better have a family member with acute game plan or ties to a safe zone to make direct hearing of such interesting intellectual highlights of electronic steering of intel. Very browse but kind. Very greatly interesting. Very great.thanks Justin

Good app. However, the "news" is always left leaning and extremely biased as with all things in Austin (Travis county). It disgusts me to read it so I try to only skim for important data.

Finally uninstalled this app today. For some reason they keep putting up old videos for weather that aren't relevant to the day when I check it on here. Today it was showing a video for weather forecast from Saturday. Today is Thursday....

The updated version of the app is not user friendly. It is organized poorly and challenging to navigate.

Seriously KXAN needs to fix this app. You can't even get to the stories. It won't go past the KXAN logo... no stars applied because you got me frustrated. There are five kids missing right now and I can't see...

I cant maximize the weather video anymore. The whole video freezes and I have back out of the app.

Was great till they started auto playing ads on every article you clicked on to open. Pick another of the dozen news apps that dont have this

Banner ads. I had to delete the app. The banner ads distract from the news like an annoying fly buzzing around.
