KXAN Weather

At the present time, it's horrible! I've got flash flood warnings for a week ago Tuesday! The sound double plays, and video keeps looping commercials! I enjoyed having a local weather/traffic app. I rely on it everyday. But this update is a hot mess! I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Still messed up! Y'all need to fix this ASAP!

Overall, good app for local weather station app. There are some features on other weather apps that I like better. The one aspect I absolutely hate is that commercials are 3 times louder than the forecast video I want to watch. VERY annoying. UPDATE: a mute button was added to forecast videos. Ads come up muted every time and keeps them from blaring loudly. Just unmute when the commercial is over. Volume issue now is the NBC chime alert. Love the chime, can't find setting to reduce volume.

More of an annoyance than anything. While the notifications can be turned off, when they are turned on, they will hammer you constantly. I have had 10 notifications in the past hour regarding the Tornado Watch that is in effect. Notify me there is a Tornado Watch fine, but don't keep sending out numerous other notifications. I thought reinstalling this app after I got annoyed with it previous was right, apparently I was wrong. Bye By KXAN

Turn off notifications and the app reinitializes them, after I've clicked "done." As soon as the screen goes to black, and then is reactivated, my preference is ignored. I do not want the NBC chime active several times a day. Downgrade for ignoring user preferences. The June "tweak" further degrades the app. (This morning, the video link {6/20} is non-functional) Out of state data either doesn't display or displays incorrect information.The news and weather apps used to work well. No more.

I've used this app for years, but for the last month or so, it's no longer working. When I open it, it doesn't show current conditions, and sometimes absolutely nothing shows on the radar screen, even when I expand the view to include the entire country or world map. I tried uninstalling it from my phone, then installed again. No difference. I tried clearing all of the data and cache, but that doesn't help either.

Better now that I found an errant VPN and removed it. I have used this for planning work, while volunteering with the Austin Steam Train.

Deleted app. Don't want to hear about electric cars and bu!!$hit climate change.

It's nice to have a local app to provide this information. I use it frequently. I would like it to be accurately updated more frequently. Often daily and hourly forecasts do not agree like a low of 59 shown for the day when hourly only shows it getting to 76. Likwise with rain. Video forecasts are just playing ads.

The NBC chimes drive me nuts!!!!! I've had this app for several years without complaints. Like many other apps, I had notifications for this app blocked but somehow, they have circumvented that system. Several weeks back I started getting this loud NBC chime sound. I use an earbud and all sounds are supposed to play through it but not this one. It blares out loudly over the speaker, again despite notifications are blocked. It took some real detective work to find this guilty party, KXAN. Goodbye!!!

Hi! Could someone please fix the sound levels on the app? The ads are easily heard, but then even when making my phone as loud as the speakers will handle, I have to put my ear to the phone to be able to hear the weather forecasters speaking. But that makes it so I can't see the graphics they are talking about. Can the actual KXAN videos please be as loud as the advertisements? I tried emailed the developer, and it bounced back as blocked. Thanks!

Had to uninstall. Liked the functions but it caused a random NBC chime signal on my Samsung phone that could not be turned off. The chime did not appear linked to any significant weather news and went off multiple times each day at random intervals.

Version 4.10.400 constantly crashes my Moto Droid Turbo 2 running the latest Android 7.0. Any navigation of the menu eventually causes a total system freeze -- reboot is the only way to recover. Until recently, previous versions worked fine, and I was happy with this app. But now it's unusable.

I have been using thiapp for many years. It used to be fairy accurate for areas outside of Austin, not anymore! It gives the exact same forecast for Austin and Lampasas. It is consistently 6°-10° colder in the mornings. It shows the same rain chances as Austin. None of it is even close to accurate! I will be deleting this app.

It just stopped working. It started crashing last night when I tried to look at the radar, I updated it and more it just opens and does nothing. It was great before. I tired to contact the developer but the email address is no good.

Great app but the doorbell chime won't shut up. I turned off the notification for it and it still chimes all day and throughout the night. Took a long time to figure out this app was the culprit so I'm just deleting the app for different one. Tried emailing them but messages are blocked.

Have used this app for years, but suddenly it's not working. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, no change. The main page is frozen, nothing happens when you click on anything. Not great when storms are headed this way!

Video no longer plays, or at least the forecast will not play. The commercial plays fine. Then the video screen goes to a play arrow, but no matter how many times you touch it, it never plays. Very disappointing. It began a few days ago.

No notification sounds from the app. The instructions say set Android setting to none, but none is not an option only silent or block notifications from the app. I'm trying to get the apps announce notification and I've got nothing. It's disappointing, especially since my tv often goes out and would need to rely on the app.

Too many notifications for not a whole lot of information. Also, if you're watching the videos of the meteorologists (who are great, BTW) you have to turn the volume up. Then the ads come on BLARING. The loud ads are probably the most annoying part.

Used this app flawlessly for the last few years. Suddenly a flurry of update, update, update...now this app sux. Opens and immediately freezes. Uninstalled and reimstalled, still a non-functioning mess. No worries, Texas Storm Chasers and Weather Bug are still very usable.

FREEZES, DOESN'T WORK WITH SCREEN FILTER. I have a screen filter app that darkens my screen beyond the phones own brightness control and I noticed this app freezes on the initial page if I'm using a screen filter or dark mode. If I stop/close the screen filter app or change from dark mode to light mode then this app works perfectly.

I lived in Austin 46 years. KXAN was my favorite news & weather channel. Now I have moved & cannot get the channel anymore so I was depending on the weather app for 2 years. It was really good for me keeping up with the weather where I am & my family in Houston! I recently had to unsubscribe to the app because it had changed so much all I could get was the ads which took up half the screen & kept playing over & over. I couldn't ever get the video & the radar screen had too much on it & wouldn't show the earthquakes, ect anymore! I UN-installed!!! Too bad cause I used to really enjoy this app. And I love Jim Spencer. 👎😭💔😡
