I installed it on my phone first, the easiest device that is always in my pocket. It worked fantastic, phone appeared like new, smooth and butter soft. So immediately paid for premium version, then would be installing on the rest of the devices. My critical one is the android TV box, love it but lags. Problem is cannot get a custom recovery for it, tried this app, and black screen, luckily it worked afterwards.
The lagging on my GNex was getting really bad, and this has eliminated it almost completely. The only problem with this app is it will stop running if you use other apps while this is working. And then you have to restart. It's a minor inconvenience for a drastic improvement to my phone's performance though.
the latest version of Android supposedly does this by default, but my device was lagging massively after nearly running out of storage, but this fixed it - highly recommend. Note if it says trim not supported the first time you use it (because it doesn't wait for root user confirmation), try clearing the app data and restarting the app
Trim is simple enough, however it seems that for the paid version a simple feature could be added for functionality at least. E.g. Option to reboot after scheduled trim. It also seems that the UI is lacking in updating when it is working as it always says "Idle..." Even after issuing the fstrim command.
Root and busybox available. # fstrim -v /data error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported. It was working on old android, same phone. Another app is working: Trimmer (fstream) ..any have same issue go and grab it
Used to work on this device, now with recent software updates it hasn't been and I have been using another third party app. I know that the system is supposed to do it on its own ever since 4.3 but these apps that run trim commands come in handy when doing large file operations and you don't want to wait for your device to decide it is ready to do maintenance. Not rating lower because it still works on another of my devices, just frustrated that I had to switch apps on this device.
My 2012 Nexus 7 had become so slow it was unbearable. Having had it previously rooted until 4.4.2 update the bootloader was already unlocked so was able to re-root without loosing any settings or data. That done installed this little app. Simple to use and in my case quick too. Took only a few seconds and made my Nexus usable again. Big improvement, long may it last! Happy days :-)
Make sure this will work on your device before buying as it will only work on certain devices. I have an N7 so it works great for me. Not sure if it's possible, but a widget with a configurable one tap run would be great for ad hoc trims. Great work dev and thanks.
Used this on both my Tablet S and on my Galaxy Nexus. Both devices were in line for yet another reflash; in the Tablet's case, I was looking for its replacement due to the long load times for everything. Both devices are now behaving like brand new, fresh out of the box, fully charged androids that made me fall in love with the OS. Awesome and well done. I honestly can't think of a single change to recommend, so five stars from me!
If you have less than 3 gb remaining on your device, or have heavily used it for weeks, you might notice a major slowdown in I/O speeds (also can include apps loading slowly). This program fixed my problem. not 100% sure if this is related, but before running this play would only let me download about 4-8 kbps with the tab on top of the router and this program fixes this too
I have an Asus Transformer tf700t and had a lot of problems with lagging. This program largely reduced the lagging. By buying the premium version scheduling is possible so my ad is constantly trimmed without me interacting.
If you are having problems: the first run the app asks for superuser permissions but apparently doesn't wait to run fstrim, so it fails because it doesn't have permissions. The app remembers the failure and blocks you from trying again (WTF?), so you must clear the data (Settings->Apps->Lagfix). Oh, and if you use one-time superuser permissions it will always fail. In summary: first run, grant permissions either permanently or for a few minutes if you don't trust it; then clear app data and run again.
Rooted my phone just to use this app. If you are familiar with TRIM on SSD drives that is basically what this is - garbage collection for your phone's storage. After running this app my nearly two year old Verizon Galaxy Nexus went from being a laggy mess to performing like new.
I read on xda that this app could be a fix for the galaxy s3 (i9300) random freeze bug. I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1 nighties and suffering from random freezing. After running this app I went 24 hours without a freeze, had one freeze, ran the app again and running smooth again. Fingers crossed, but this app appears to have helped...
Fixed a lag issue on my CM10.1 Nook HD+. Speeds up keyboard, app switching, new tabs in chrome and much more... Now I can use my tablet as I want.
Used to work great on 5.0 but not on 5.1.1 and the developer doesn't seem to think it's important to update something that users purchased as a premium app. The trim does work with other apps available on market, so it's just the lack of interest from the developer updating the app.
to those that do t know it depends if your kernel is able to support the fstrim command. if its not working try a different custom kernel.
My galaxy nexus was almost unbearable to use. Apps took forever to open and even my keyboard hung while texting. I wanted to blame updates but this app proved otherwise. Not only is my phone fast again (for a galaxy nexus) but... MY BATTERY LIFE DOUBLED!! Easy to use just wish there was an indicator to say it's working while it's doing its thing. Only takes a few minutes but when your used to your phone hanging all the time, the first use leaves you wanting to abort and reboot. Highly recommended!
I don't think this works on any recent Android release. It's been years since this app worked.
Nexus 7 2012 is a laging scam by Asus and Google. This is an app that dont solves lag. Perfect.
Thanks so much for this. I have an optimus g and running in eco mode made the phone stutter, now it runs smooth and I can keep it this way and save on battery.
Good, but for premium could use option to run every xx minutes or xx hours instead of once at a certain time per day.
I constantly install new apps (currently near 400). 1st time I used lag fix, I noticed my Note 2 was snappy again. Until the Note 2 gets 4.3 ota, lagfix is the answer
Really does speed up memory access, works great on my sgs3. Get the premium version to schedule trimming.
You can schedule a recurrent FS trim, so you don't have to worry about it.
I am amazed at what this did to my Gnex. Such a simple app completely fix my huge performance problems. Smooth as butter once again
Fixes lag superbly. I set it to run every night because i want to enjoy my Galaxy S3 as much as I can.
I have been using this for awhile on the Nexus 7 with KitKat and it works great. Just installed and rooted Lollipop but can't run trim. Maybe it's no longer needed? Anyway, I'll check back to see if it gets an update for Lollipop compatibility.
It worked great on Android <5.0, but since 2 years no update anymore, seems developer is not interested anymore to make it compatible with newer Android versions. So if below Android 5, you can buy it, if higher than Android 5, don't waste your money
guys don't buy this because you need root for this i cant fix it it doesn't do anything dont buy it its a waste of time and your money
