Land Nav Assistant
This app was designed with Army, Marine, and other military personnel in mind. Use it to correct your Land Nav technique by analyzing your pace count and tendency to veer left and right.
Available Input: 8/10 digit MGRS, latitude/longitude, and map input.
Simple arrow interface directs you to your point. In addition, your distance, direction, speed, and bearing are shown as you navigate.
Satellite map view shows all your points, and let you add new ones.
Displays distance/direction from your currently location to all points.
Export your list of points to a spreadsheet for personal use.

This app uses the Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) and Latitude / Longitude. It utilizes the WGS84 datum for calculations.
Choose to display your MGRS locations as 10-digit or 8-digit.
Angles can be displayed in degrees or mils.
D:M:S can be input in the format DD:MM:SS followed by the appropriate direction (NSWE). Default direction is N, W.
Examples of valid DMS Inputs: 40:43:0 , 74:0:040:43:00N , 74:0:0W40:43:00N ,-74:0:0E
DO NOT use this application while learning Land Navigation. Land Navigation is a valuable skill, and should be mastered before using this application. Do not rely solely on this application for navigation, especially when lost. Always be aware of your surroundings.

i use this quite a bit for work. For my purposes as a trainer, it's more efficient than burning through AAA batteries on a Fortrex every day and a half, and it's instantly available as soon as I open the app if I forget to fire it up before I need to call of a grid. A Fortrex takes time to boot up, and accquire satellites. I recently got a Samsung smart watch, but I can't move this app over to it. If there was an update that was compatible with smart watches, that would be even better.
Compass is frozen. I have a samsung z flip. Everything else works great. I tried google map to calibrate but no luck. Auto rotation is on. What else can I do to make the compass work?
This app had so much potential. It worked liked a charm and used it to help teach classes and confirm pace counts and land nav points, etc. However, the compass is now frozen. I conducted all of calibration steps and none of it worked. I downloaded other apps and the compass for them functions on my phone. If th e compass worked, this would be a five-star app.
Seems like it could be a good app but the magnetic compass does not work and the company has not responded to two emails asking for help. The magnetic compass does work in other apps on this phone.
I tried it and it had no idea where I was. It constantly changed in sharp directions. Needs a lot of work. Would be very useful for land nav if it worked
Make an app for smartwatches (Tizen, Andriod Wear, and Apple watch) that can connect to the phones and display an arrow and distance towards coordinate/path. This would be very helpful.
$2 worth of trash. compass doesnt work, grid updates way too slow, own position cursor points only one direction and refunds are basically impossible. i guess you won ( who ever created this app)
My compass doesnt work with my new phone. I got a LG thin q. It worked great with my samsung. no matter how much i try to calibrate it wont move.
Amazing app, makes navigating in a vehicle such a breeze plus you can get a good idea of the Terrain you will be operating in with the Google satellite imagery.
Dosn't show how to navigate to a saved point, draw a path is not working, can't create folders for deffrent points for deffrent citys.
Awesome but I need a way to use the navigation on my smartwatch.
APP kind of works. I can still navigate however the compass does not work.
vsry good, but it lacks the one thing i need in a gps app, offline maps.

Doesn't display the mgrs grid numbers in the corners of the grids. especially when you zoom in.

this app would be perfect if I could print maps. by the time I found out it was too late and now I can't get a refund.

Dropping my rating until the compass gets fixed. Compass not working on Moto G7 Power on Android 9.
Maps freeze. Maps blank out to a gray screen. App opens up to a globe of the world. Map settings are very poor. Navigation and compass are ok. Better rating if the maps functions and settings are improved!
Bought this app for the little "reconnaissance patrol" my friend and I like to do every 4th of July. It worked great even having no signal out in the Tillamook forest of Oregon. I was able to set a nice route that followed the low ground using the included topographical map feature. My only grip with the app is that you can't select the actual course lines and move them at will to follow terrain features like a winding river. Would recommend overall!
