Lander

Lander is an Android port of the 1990 game by the same name for Windows 3.1.
It is similar to the classic Lunar Lander game that everyone knows. One difference that sets Lander apart from the rest is that it uses side thrusters to change horizontal velocity and doesn't rotate (though v1.1.0 added that option). In my opinion, the style is easier to learn and more appealing than most Lunar Lander games. It can even be a bit addictive. With each round lasting just a few seconds, you don't need to decide if you have enough time to play it.

Features:-Randomized terrain-Touchscreen controls with custom scale and opacity-Customizable keys (physical keyboard/D-Pad)-Adjustable gravity, fuel, and thrust-Improvements can be toggled (mainly for nostalgia)-Gameplay modifications (unlocked for $1)

PERMISSIONS:Market billing service
- Used to unlock gameplay modifications with in-app purchase.

Tested in emulators to work great on Android 1.5+ as well as QVGA (tiny) to WXGA (tablet) screens! Also tested extensively on Motorola Droid, T-Mobile G1, and Logitech Revue.

For this port, permission and v1.3 source code has been provided by the original developer, George Moromisato (neurohack.com).

Please rate/comment! Just keep in mind that this is a near exact port of a classic game with some tweaks and modifications. That said, I ask that you don't rate negatively just because you don't like the old style.

PROBLEMS:Please email me or submit to the issue tracker if you have problems! The issue tracker, which can also be used for suggestions, is available at http://tracker.pilot51.com.

You really have to rate this game differently than you would for others. And that's by judging how accurate the port is when compared to its source material, the Windows 3.1 game. It's just like I remember it being, thanks to having the source code, complete with the comments after landing/crashing. It may be easier to use a PC keyboard for this game, but the touch screen controls work well enough to enjoy the experience. I can't rate this any lower, because it's as good as it gets. Great work!

As other reviews state it's a great port of the classic game. There are options to change gravity, thrust, and fuel settings as well. Worth playing with. To the developer, my only real complaint is having to lift my finger from one button to another. I find myself crashing most often because I don't lift my finger enough between inputs. I can think of 2 solutions 1 increase the size of the buttons by about 70%, or 2 allow the player to drag their finger across buttons eliminating the need to lift finger.

Unable to open any menu. Samsung Galaxy s5. Good concept, just needs options listed in play store to be available for game.

This app shows that classics never die. I can't get enough of this game. Highly addictive and highly recommend.

This game is frustratingly difficult, which means the port is extremely accurate. Allowing one to adjust the landing tolerances would do a lot for the enjoyment of some.

This is a great little game to kill those few minutes you have here and there.

Should b called crashed. Buttons work when they want 2. Not when you do.

On the moon stuff doesn't drop as fast to go zero to twenty meters a second in less than half a second

Keys are barely responsive, rules not clearly stated, thruster buttons not explained, really too crappy for the space it occupies.

The controls are poorly executed and bunched up in one corner of the screen so it makes it difficult to s.ee the rocket.

A fun little Lunar lander game (or Mars lander, depending on your own imagination). Tricky to get this module down safely though! Thanks for the freebie, Pilot_51!

Don't hit ok it will stop you from doing anything unless you force stop the app.

Not sure why people don't like it. This is a fun little game, especially when using a physical keyboard (Actually makes it a lot easier). I definitely recommend this game for everyone who enjoyed the good old days with this game ;)

Not very replayable. Controls don't respond. Might be a multitouch problem. There's no multitude so you can't side and up thrust at the same time. Variable throttle would be good.

I must say that I am a fan of Apollo 11,and the lunar lander.Look's like the begining of another Apollo adventure:-)

Absolutly loving it, just like in back in days kicking with gravity. Simple good game! Thanks!

Started great but controls too small and any multi touch of buttons stops control! Please fix so u can actually play it and all will be happy!

This is exactly what it says it is. It's a copy of the Windows 3.1 game, and a good one. The buttons sometimes don't respond and you have to restart it once in a while, but no floppy drive required!

This is as true to the source material as a phone version should be and the updated look is great. Love all the options added in as well. Runs great and is a lot of fun! Overall, great game!
