If you liked the Reign games you'll feel right at home here because it's literally the same thing. And that's the biggest downfall. Instead of picking the option you want, you end up picking whatever option of the two on each screen that keeps the bars balanced so that they don't bottom out which causes a game over. So you don't actually pick what you want to do but instead you pick what you have to do to keep the four bars balanced at the top of the screen. Pretty pointless after one play.
Having played through the game to 100% completion, I just have to give a review. The plot is well-done, and the gameplay is engaging. It definitely gets repetitive trying to get from one part of the game to another, but otherwise it's an excellent game. The one thing that stood out to me was how subtly the respawn mechanics on the game are integrated right into the plot. Takes some memory to navigate, but otherwise a solid game once you have it figured out. Looking forward to playing Lapse 2.
This game is great! The ads aren't too intrusive, as ads are only used as punishments for bad decisions or a small fee for a helpful, but not necessary object. The story is captivating and is not overly simple nor complicated. However, if I have one small complaint, it is that the game tends to get a bit repetitive over time. But in time, you kinda get used to that, and the repetitiveness doesn't lower the quality of the game much. All in all, props to the creator for making such a nice game!
Great to pass the time on a short journey. I used Google surveys to pay for everything. Unsure is the best interactive fiction, but it is the one with the most attractive and simple interface, with a good narrative that keeps you engaged with the story. It's better with headphones, so it is immersive. I've spent several hours in the game over the years and it has not lost its appeal or interest. It reminds me of the 1980s text adventure games, or books. A good revival of reboot of the format.
i really like this game its super fun, but it does get repetitive after a while waiting for the next event to happen so you can get new achievements. but my main problem with this game is that it doesn't save progress even if you're linked/logged in to your google account which is more than a bumer because it takes a while to make actual progress in the game.
Honestly this game is amazing. I love the story and gameplay. It very clearly takes the formula for regins and turns it into a post apocalyptic adventure. Only complaint is that it takes way to long to get the encounter you want. I haven't gotten the tabla rusa achievement because I die before I can even get the card. Anyway amazing game if I could I'd rate it 4.9 out of five.
I really like this game. I got ending 2, but my only issue is that the gameplay becomes really repetitive. After getting an ending, you have to go back to the very beginning, and there are 3 endings in total. I would recommend beating this game, but only go for all endings if you really want to.
So far it's been a fun game much in the vein of other cars based decision games. Ads aren't egregious, but bearable and the optional ones come with an oracle reward that let's you see the consequences of your choices. Overall enjoying the game and looking forward to see how the story goes.
The graphics, animations and storyline are all top notch. But the game 'mechanics' are grindy to the extreme. Just reaching one ending took hours of repetive gameplay and there are supposed to be two more endings after this. The gameplay really needs to be shortened in this one.
Very unique concept and not going to lie it works. The game is both challenging and interesting. You have to make sacrifices to make other ends meet and I think that's very cool. However sometimes you get stuck in a situation where you lose both options. But that's only a problem if you sick. Anyway good job devs very good game.
I thought it was unique, only to learn on Reddit that it's heavily inspired by the paid game Reigns. I finished it anyway for the story. I got one ending and it seems pretty tedious to get the others - what can I say, 75 years is a pretty long time to swipe (and I also believe that some cards don't have correct stat changes, which adds to the frustration). I wish it dealt with time travel and politics deeper. There are also some grammar mistakes that lead to a lesser experience.
Great idea, pretty well executed. The game is challenging and complex enough to be fun to repeat, and is actually designed with three different endings to accomplish. Even beyond trying to accomplish all three endings, the randomness of the cards and how decisions affect larger gameplay mean you're not playing the same game twice. Some of the verbiage could be a little clearer, as it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between two options, but overall the gameplay is addictive. The graphics are simple, but clean, smooth, and professional looking. It has ads, but, not too many, and, it gives you rewards for watching some optional ads. If you really don't like ads, you can pay a small amount to get rid of them entirely.
The story in this game is incredible and definitely something worth exploring, especially since the game is free to play. Ads are minimum and only started appearing late into the game, and you are almost always given an in game item to help in exchange for watching an ad. if you absolutely do not want ads it's only about $1 to remove them. overall a good deal and it's an incredibly fun game.
There's a lot of trial and error at first, but once you start learning what does what, it becomes a very engaging and challenging experience to balance the keeping the nation's ecology healthy, the people happy, the military strong and economy running. If any of the four stats gets too low or too high, expect to face coups, revolts, and radiation. You die a lot in this game, but you jump back in just as easily. The story is also pretty good and has some interesting twists. Overall, a 5 star game
This game is simple but brilliant. The creators turned a repetitive plot into an app that is both unique and creative. Although not part of the game itself, the thing that impressed me the most was how advertisements were placed into the game. Instead of popping up and random intervals whilst you were trying to make a difficult decision, they were gradually led into the game with a plot of their own, and this tactic meant that you weren't opposed to a 30 second video. Highly Recommended
I've only been playing for a day and I'm completely hooked. The storyline is interesting and engaging, and I love the simplistic layout and gameplay. It reminds me a little of a scaled-down civilization game, but with an overarching story and iteresting recurring characters. The situations presented are complex, and I love that there isn't always a right or wrong decision. It feels somewhat realistic in that way. Overall, I highly reccomend Lapse for anyone who likes strategy or a good story.
The storyline is well-written and interesting. There is a lot of characters but only roughly 1/3 of them contributed significantly to the story, the 2/3 are only for gameplay and basic story proggression. Gameplay is choice-making, but you need to think about your choices and you need luck. It gets repetitive after a while. The icons can be confusing to newer players, but should be understandable after some playing. There is one soundtrack and it just repeats, very repetitive.
it is an interesting concept and game. You die many times, but that is the point as each new life opens up new opportunities. Having finished the game I feel that there is a little bit too much padding for the number of important events for much of the game. This wouldn't be a problem if the padding cards were a better game in their own right, but balancing 4 meters isn't very interesting.
Y e s . It's not a pay-to-win game. You can earn temporary upgrades through ads, and decisions you make in the game. It's a super interesting timeline, going beyond you restarting every time you die. It's a loop. Ponder on that for a second. But as to not spoil anything, I'll just leave it with this, the game is amazing, and full of creativity that went into planning. 21/19, would recommend even if you're not into strategy games all that much.
This game is very clever in its mechanics and concept. Its functions are simple enough to learn and get a grasp on, the scenarios provide enough of a mind game to keep you intrigued, and the simple yet challenging gameplay leaves enough content to be satisfied with the game choice after choice, year after year, and session after session. Overall, I see next to no need for change, and I'm happy to have paid that cup of coffee to support the developer. 10/10!
Overall, amazing game!! I love the music and the sound effects, and it really gets your brain going after you've played through it a few times. And the little messages from the creator are so cute. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it gets somewhat repetitive, but you can unlock new characters and scenarios to combat this, which is neat!
I love this game, it's a really simple concept but so well executed and the app is gorgeous and easy to use. No instructions but you understand how to play almost immediately. The progression arc is consistent and keeps me interested, the ability to use powers and unlock new cards always makes me want to play more. The story that's emerging is both fanciful and dark, I'm loving how my choices have to include both right and wrong decisions to move forward. This has to be one of my favourite mobile games ever, I highly recommend. Politics is a filthy game and being a soulless dictator in a nuclear wasteland is definitely a neat way to spend time.
This game is incredibly fun with excellent replay value. I've had it on two different phones and once I was pretty convinced I had found all the different paths I switched it out for the sequel. That one i still have to work on, and though I did delete it from my phone because I needed storage space for some important pictures, I will absolutely put it back on and keep going in the future. Maybe by the time I finish that they'll have produced a third. 😁
Pretty easy to die in a few turns, ads sometimes irritating, but the game's great. Ended up with the early Machina ending and thought that was it. But no, this game is so much more complex than I thought. Only part I haven't done is the loop ending, but I already know what happens, so I'm moving on to the second. Great plot, ended up speed running it in less than 24 hours, and it was crazy. Great game, great game indeed.
It's a great OFFLINE, TIME-KILLER, ENJOYABLE game! Doesn't 'require' you to make a purchase in order to have advantage in the game. Developer is more than generous to reward the player, in-game, for watching ads! Graphics & user-interface are great too! Overall, I love it and plan to keep this game for a while. Thank you, developer! Keep up the great work.
A really good game! Pleasant graphics, little adds, very interesting storyline, really really entertaining. I'm really enjoying playing it, and recommend it a lot! It also is adjustable for busy schedules, you don't have any needs of coming every day. 10/10
