Great little program! I was looking for something fairly simple to create time-lapse videos of my art, and this was recommended. I have used it to create and upload about a dozen videos at this point...the videos are about a minute and a half for 90 minutes of drawing, and it's fantastic. The controls are easy to use, the render options work great (I usually render in a square to make it easy to upload to Insta)...I will be upgrading to the pro version soon to gain access to the other options. It does worry me that the app is no longer under development, so I wonder at its longevity, but I honestly haven't found anything I like better.
Serious marketing error - 480p! I've used this app (free) in the distant past, and was very happy with it, especially the results. However, now (August, 2020) the free version of the app is limited to 480p resolution. This is not a good idea as we (as potential buyers) cannot determine if the quality of the output in our desired resolution will be worth the cost. Instead, I would recommend some other limitation that still allows full use of the apps features. If we like it, we'll buy it!
After about an hour and a half I got and error message that the frames weren't saving correctly and perhaps I should change to a lower resolution (can't do this mid-video). Stopped it and started a new one, hoping I could use another software to splice them together. Same thing happened after an hour and a half. Finally I have done three separate captures, and now the app crashes any time I try to access my gallery. Four hours of work lost!
Used to be my favorite timelapse app (I develop timelapse software for a profession, this is saying something). Unfortunately it has always had "quirks", which could be overlooked 8 years ago, but since the app hasn't been updated since 2014, it is now just badly made. Also, at least with the Samsung S9, if you don't use "full frame" you get some weird pixelated screen door on the images that makes the timelapse unusable. App doesn't support anything above HD capture if you don't want "full frame" (which is 4:3). I wish the developer would update the app so it was awesome again.
Will record the video, was able to watch it once or twice, then after rendering it wouldn't work. I mean I know it was a free app but come on. After seeing all the reviews I see what they were talking about. Too bad, otherwise what I was able to watch was a great video and looked amazing....but again once it was rendered it would no longer work
The interface is not very intuitive, I found it difficult to navigate, the camera is set to full screen but is not designed for that so images look warped, couldn't figure out how to reset that. The camera rotation cant be changed, that's part of pro, you cant import images from phone camera, that too is in pro. Basically the free version of the ap is so limited that I ended up just uninstalling and going back to play to try something else. Bit disappointed in it overall.
Wow what a POS! Won't record with the screen off even though I set the option to run in background. Other video recorders will do it, so it's not my device! Can only go to 1080p instead of whatever the camera will record at, excuse me is this 1865? I cannot recommend smashing your phone against your head as an alternative to this app enough!
Not bad so far - only 480 res on the free version but all in all, very good for free! One thing I noticed that might put me off spending money on it to get better settings is the distortion - things look skinny in a lot of shots, especially from higher angles. Using a dual lens Honor but noticed a similar post on the pro version by a Samsung user.
Love the time lapse effects I was able to create with this app. Speeds are much faster than the time lapse feature native to my phone. The reason for the two star review is the lack of compatibility of the rendered video with any of my video editing apps....can't open it in Inshot, Videoshop, Kapwing or even on my phone!
This was, when I installed it and purchased the pro upgrade, the best time lapse app I could find. That was 2015. It's now 2022, and this app hasn't been updated. It is not compatible with current generation phones (Samsung S22U). Time to give up and move on, since the developer has obviously abandoned it.
Great app, but I wish there was a pro version for my android, makes it mush harder to complete a video without being able to add sound and then having to stop and make new videos instead of just stopping and starting back up. Kinda a pain. I'm sure the pro version is awesome!
Set to take a frame every 10 seconds, ran for 2 hours, it took about 4 frames and none of them were what was shown on screen whole shooting. I won't bother upgrading this app to pro or using it again.
This app is really convenient in how it lets me pause my time lapse and the function of auto focus is really useful. I really enjoy making videos on here and it's really straightforward. The only downside to this is that its sharing option does not always work for me (but downloading and manually sending it works!)
Definitely going to upgrade to pro version. Even the free version is great. Really fun way to show progressive photos of projects and easy to use app.
I was using it and made a few cool test videos, was shooting a short film using this app, but now it won't render or make movies... the only change was a device operating system upgrade, now the app is useless. I was going to upgrade to pro version, but not if it won't work. No word from the company.
Does everything you would expect it to, even in the free version. Time lapses can go on for more than a week without stopping (as long as you charge your phone), and it takes up barely any space (a 500 image time lapse takes up about 50 mb). Outstanding app.
Great app for timelapse and stop motion animation Used it a lot over last few years on ipad, ipod and Samsung phone. Only occasionally crashed or had any issues. Good to have it on a separate device other than your phone but does allow random impromptu timelapse experiments when out and about.
Video recorded with this app is so dark that you literally cant see anything. I thought that maybe autoexposure was having trouble so i set the app to highest ISO available. Made no difference. Video recorded with camera app looks bright enough. Not going to spend money on pro version if free version cant record usable video.
Easy to use and easy to publish to social media, even without the 'Pro' version. Fascinating to see the dynamics of things that move too slowly to be seen directly. Cloudscapes are just 'far out'!
Does everything I need. Simple interface. Getting the timing settings adjusted takes a few options on separate screen. But once you find your sweet spot the whole thing runs smoothly. Thanks
Irritated by their ad at the end of every video, but what really p*ssed me off was I set it up to do a time lapse of the Jan. 19-20, 2019 eastern snowstorm, at the rate of one frame per minute, and it recorded just 96 frames and stopped. No reason, no error, just stopped. Needless to say, I won't be buying the pro version. I'll find a time lapse recorder that actually works, thank you very much.
