Las Vegas is the largest city in the U.S. state of Nevada. Nicknamed the Entertainment Capital of the World, it is situated in the Mojave Desert of Southern Nevada. The city features many mega-hotel/casino complexes decorated with lavish care and attention to detail creating a fantasy-like environment. The casinos often have names and themes that evoke romance, mystery, and exotic destinations.
Compared with other cities in the western U.S., Las Vegas (literally, "the springs" in Spanish) is a relatively recent arrival. It was founded in 1905, and for many years it was merely a small settlement in the middle of the desert. However, several pivotal events would come together in less than twenty years that would help Las Vegas grow into what it is today:The construction of Hoover Dam in 1928 brought thousands of workers to the area. What is now known as Boulder City was established for the workers.Nevada legalized gambling in 1931, and downtown Las Vegas became an entertainment center for the dam workers, with casinos and speakeasies. Business became so good that it surpassed Reno as the gambling capital of the world in less than 10 years. During the same period in the 1930s, Los Angeles was also growing rapidly from a small town into a global center for the entertainment, aerospace, and defense industries; but because gambling was strictly banned in California at the time, Southern California workers began traveling to Las Vegas to enjoy gambling there.In 1941, the luxurious El Rancho Vegas resort opened on what would later become the Las Vegas Strip. Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel later opened the Flamingo Hotel in 1946.

The only thing worthy of more than one star is the hotel info, and that is online. For an "offline app", that's pretty bad.

Don't waste your time. No search function, gps doesn't work, little to no useful information and a unreadable map. This app has literally no redeeming qualities. It's mostly a lame list of links to internet content. You're better off just using Google since you need to be online for most of it anyway. It's garbage like this that gives the android app store a bad name. I should have noticed that none of the good ratings have actual reviews - obviously bogus ratings

Useful for those without data coverage in the US.
It's not worth it's free price. Not enough content. It gives info that most people know. There are many more muse8, to do's, etc.. Makes should take the time to ad a thousand or two more things to this app.
