lagging and blocking. the notification comes on time, but after that it is impossible to see the details, as the app gets stucked on 'loading' screen. it stays like that for minutes, and you can't do anything but check after 10 minutes to see if it is functioning again. and this is especially annoying as in such moments one wants to what happened ASAP. S7 android 8.0.
Why is the app telling me that it can't retrieve my current position even though it's on? Not able to figure out what I need to do to make this happen. Trying to view EQs "Near Me" and can't because of this. Using wi-fi tablet only with a very strong connection. Seemed to work fine before the Android Pie update. Now, when I open the app the page is dark and there's a spinning circle at the bottom. Have screenshot. Thanks for the replies! Works great now!
The app was much better last year. It was easy to use and informative. Now is full of colours and unpractical maps. Edit: please simplify the map allowing to see the evolution of the activities, as if was in the past. Your job is precious and this app was really important when I was in Kos during the earthquake some years ago.
Basically worthless to me because it only lets me look at last 6 hours. Why not have a time frame I can choose or AT LEAST 2 or 3 preset time frames (you know, like maybe 6, 12, or 18 hours) the user can choose instead of just making it 6 hours. Makes no sense at all. Uninstalling and searching AGAIN for a better app.
I live at the "T" intersection of a busy road. Many times I catch myself saying, "hope that wan a truck and not the"big one". Now I can know for certain! The app is easy for this old geezer to use. It is also amazing to be made aware that there are so many earthquakes. I enjoy looking up the many places the app mentions. Our planet is an amazing, active world and it is a delight to know more about it😊
I love EMSC. But my God, the UI is painful to the eyes with all these intense colors! Even the font choices are not that good. I hope they can make this more professional looking. Update: EMSC replied to me quickly. It was interesting and very confrontational. Anyway, thank you ESMC for reminding us that it is free and ads free. I'm sure I'm not a loss, I'm just one person uninstalling. Again, thank you for slapping it on our face that it is free and ads free.
Am extremely grateful for the app, for the support and the effort invested. Thank you for this sanity-saving contribution! 💛 The functionalities are beyond useful, but the app tends to be unstable when most needed - cannot load any info immediately after a quake and during high access load, the map is very laggy (often cannot be focused precisely). * Review updated to reflect the huge value of the app in whole - I hope you'd be allocated more funding for stronger infrastructure.
Have been using this for over a year now and, I believe, previously rated 5*. However, having recently experienced a total loss of notifications, due to your hardware issues, I uninstalled it. I decided to reinstall to check it out again, it's a great app, and I missed it. I'm rating 4* for the time being though until I'm satisfied all is resolved. Will happily give 5* again at that point. 🥰
it's been working the best for me. I've been using this for a good 3 years now and no problems. and very, very, very extremely accurate. completely up to date with latest shakings. the 7.1 of July 5th,i felt the Earth moving and saw my phone light up from this app. quick and reliable, i love it.
The user interface can be improved, the look and feel is slow. It can be improve for most phones. I would add the ability to show earthquakes in a certain timespans.
Good Concise functional App for purpose. Would like to have a pinch zoom for map showing more detail of earthquake Epicentre. Currently very difficult to see on a small phone screen. Update. Sept'2020. Continues to be my preferred Earthquake App with good functionality and refinement of pinch zoom maps now, not available two years ago. Maps now easier to zoom to Epicentre of earthquake. Continues to be my main earthquake App and provide info with the right balance.
Really useful app when it works. You should really move to cloud solution as quickly as possible so you can instantly scale up when needed (any Kubernetes service would be perfect for this). Until then, one suggestion easy to implement: show link to your Twitter profile instead of endless loading circle, when there is high usage of the app.
One jssue is that the app stops responding when there are lots of testimonies (eg 1000) for an earthquake and you try to read them. Maybe have it only load the first few comments on the page, then load more as you scroll down? other than that, excellent, useful app with reliable notifications about earthquakes.
An excellent well thought out app, that I use all the time. Living in Turkey it's unfortunate that its needed so much. The scale of the event may prompt a tsunami warning. No apps can give a warning of a quake. No early warnings exist, but some are timely enough and sensitive enough to alert you as soon as one starts. The internet is faster than a shockwave and if distant, you may get a head start on the quake. This app doesn't claim to do that, but it's a solid reliable app.
accurate information. I like this app because it's appearance and manageability are simple yet precise. The information it provides is concise, accurate and it gives the opportunity to include information about what people have felt/experienced during an earthquake.
Found no relation with reality around our position. The latest, which made my mind up and finally cnvinced me to uninstall the app was that it did not report a major earthquake of magnitude 7.4 in Turkey and Greece. It was less than 600 km away from us. Yet no report ..... is it politics or was it some thing else other than an earthquake, such as an under water supersonic explosion??? Come clean and play in the open, explain!
Great and useful app, helped alot during the Albanian earthquake. Even though I understand that You have only one IT guy working on this app, I would recommend him work a bit on the UI and make the UI a bit modern (the colors look like android 4.0). But still a great app and great idea. Keep up the great work! :)
App stopped working. Edit: to the developer my response is I ended up uninstalling the app because it never did work properly. I put it up against the volcanoes and earthquakes Discovery app and my notifications with that new app were much faster and more accurate. There were many notifications that came in on the new app that were missed with your app. I was using your app while on the ground at the Ridgecrest earthquake both is 6.4 and the 7.1 and was receiving notifications with the new app.
It feels unstable, the notifications aren't good. I feel an earthquake, then i go check out where it was and I see within a minute where it was, sometimes.... Most of the times I have to wait 20-30 mins to make sure the ppl i care about aren't close to it.
App worked well until recently; I was able to see where quakes had occurred worldwide & what their severity was. Now, for reasons unknown, I receive no reports of any quakes anywhere... I just have a blank gray screen. (Android phone, if that matters). Tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, with no improvement. So, now I have an earthquake app that does nothing but occupy system resources. Thus, the one-star rating. Too bad, guys. App was good before, but went off the rails somewhere.
