Have just downloaded this; looks o.k. but complicated to set up. For example, you need to sort the order of your favourites in advance, because you can't reposition them once you tap on "favourites". Right, you just have to have them in alphabetical order - not always what you want. New snag now. When I bring the app on, the wallpaper picture fades; why does it lose brightness? Not ideal. Otherwise, the basic idea and operation of the app is pretty good.
Great app. Works awesome. Will continue to use. The customization is top notch. Setting it up at first can be a little rough but after messing with it for little bit it becomes second nature. Please add folder support in the favorites section (That's reason for 4 stars) along with being able to change individual icons. Other then that this is a must have app.
Edit - I wish I could give it more than 5 stars, simply because it's so convenient to use! I wonder how this was not built into any OS as a native feature. I'm already missing this on iOS as well :) This has become an indispensable application. It's such a simple concept, but so useful! And it takes quick launch / shortcuts to the next level. Upgraded to support the dev. Maybe it can do with a little polish to the user interface, but immensely useful as it is. Would definitely recommend.
After using the blackberry keyone for the past 3 years, I've missed the physical keyboard shortcuts to open apps without having to have messy icons all over my screen. This has made me not hate using a standard touchscreen phone. It'd be ace if you could make a feature where you can open an app by simply pressing a 'dedicated' key instead of it acting like a search bar, and/or long pressing the key to open another. Edit. Also would be good to change wigit text size.
It works, all the time! Seems like that should be a "given" for all apps, but I've used dozens of apps that quit working, are updated and changed dramatically, "hang," consume too many resources, require too many permissions, etc., etc.... LaunchBoard simply does what it advertises, does it well, and is my primary "organizer" and quick launcher for the many, many apps on my phone and tablets. Life is just easier with LaunchBoard. 5 Stars and a big "Thank You" to the creator(s) and sustainers.
Brilliant in its simplicity. Tap a letter, tap an app. It is so fast and eay to use, with no real learning curve, that I almost cant believe how much I love it. This makes using my phone faster and more comfortable. I highly recommend you give this a try. A little frustrated with the way that ads / premium got rolled out, but it's a bargain price for a one-purchase of an app that improves my phone experience so many days every day.
Edit: My bad, I missed thus setting. Thanks to the developer for the quick response. Added an extra star now. Would give 4.5 on 5. The 0.5 is more subjective, I think the UI could use a bit of polish but like I said, this is subjective. Thank you. Functional. But basic. Badly needs an option to search not just with the first letter but beyond that.
Awesome app. I have some ideas that I think people would appreciate if you added. First, an option to disable rounded edges on the widget would be nice so that one could have the widget stretch right from one side of the screen to the other without having the corners appearing cut out. Also, an option to add shadows for the letters on the widget would be great so that letters could stand out more easily if you want to have a transparent background widget on top of a colorful phone wallpaper.
Works great at what it's designed for. Easy to launch any app or contact quickly. Nice that it can be set as the assist app, making it accessible with a long press of home, but that means no Assistant. So my only suggestion for the future would be maybe to offer a floating button (with configurable appearance/transparency and can be docked to a screen edge) as an optional way to trigger the keyboard.
As of 9/23/2019: LaunchBoard is slower now. Despite the Turbo Mode, launch animation is stuttering and with delays. Even the icons are loading one by one. This update is a hot mess. ------------------- Original review: I hate the latest update! Why does it have to close my current app when I'm calling launchboard? I prefer and loved the instance wherein it will only show up on top of an app.
The greatest ideas are usually the simplest, most obvious ones. After a few days with this on my homescreen, I simply cannot ever go back to scrolling through endless pages of apps looking for an icon! I thought it was weird at first that it's a widget instead of a launcher like everything else. But no, its perfect, focuses only on providing a small, fast way to find and launch an app. I can use any overbloated launcher to handle my homescreens while this focuses on getting my apps up FAST!
I love it! If you only knew how many apps I've downloaded & tried, only to ultimately uninstall for various reasons, you'd take me seriously when I say I REALLY like it! I've found myself using it often throughout the day. It does what it is supposed to do & does it well without ads. If I had any suggestion for improvement it would be to have a shortcut or gesture that takes the user to newly installed apps. That's just a suggestion to consider as an add-on. As far as what this app is intended for, it does its job consistently and well. It's more than worth a download.
Very nice alpha app launcher. Would be extremely nice if the keyboard letters were in upper case. Lower case really doesn't look very nice. Capital letters would give it class and a better looking display. Also, there is no mention of what extras you get for purchasing it. All I know is that it allows color customization. If it contains being able to display capital letters, I would buy it.
Er... I love it! But surely this is the paid version, isn't it? This is far too good to be the free version, with no ads! You really should stick some pro features in and charge a little cos I will pay. I would of paid for what there is in there already! I love it! Maybe some other colour options with a colour wheel to get the perfect shade or choose your own picture as keyboard background, slap anything in and call it a pro version, make some money! 😍
This is a nice, clean replacement app for the now-ruined Elixir 2. Apps and contacts are accessed from a single widget with a configurable keyboard layout that has several color themes (upgrade to create your own), and it uses your native font. Would like to see the ability to hide apps from a single checklist; hiding each one individually is a pain. Would also like an option to remove text labels under apps and contacts, and to use pictures as backgrounds. Otherwise, fantastic!
So far this works as expected/hoped, very smooth & snappy, with great theming options. Only suggestion for improvements would be an option to add/ launch shortcuts. Still worth the small price for the premium, the recent update has added some useful features, that fixed 1 minor issue with the search, would still like to see support for adding/ launching shortcuts. Thanks
Absolutely LOVE this app. I have a terrible app drawer from Samsung bcoz I have a lot of apps I can't scroll through them everytime to find an app. Thanks to easy drawer I can now find my apps really fast. And also there is zero lag FEATURE REQUEST : Auto arrange apps by usage so that the apps we use most will be at the top so that we can have easy access to them.
Love it! And the customization options that arrived are really nice. But I really recommend to get rid of the nag popup for premium. People will get greatly annoyed by it, and you wilI probably loose new potential customers. Will upgrade to premium so it's not a problem for me for long, I want to support the development. But seriously try and make some irresistible premium features and skip the nag popup. 😊 Edit: Your amazing! Keep up the great work!
Pretty handy app. Using either the widget or notification bar shortcut makes for a cleaner home screen, as opposed to numerous app shortcuts, plus you can find seldom used apps quickly without scrolling through the app drawer. Only complaint is that the favorites and recent buttons are small (would like to see them stand out more since I use them frequently).
I like the concept, used the app daily & purchased it. Unfortunately, it has defects that make it problematic. The widget does not automatically start upon restart or reboot on all of my devices. This happens on my Galaxy Tab S4 as well as my Galaxy S20. It seems to work on my Galaxy Tab S7, but who knows for how long. One grows tired of re-adding the widget with every reboot. This app hasn't been updated since 09/2021 (it is now 05/2022). It's a great concept; wish it worked more consistently.
Excellent idea & implementation. After few hours of using this I am opening every app using this by totally avoiding app drawer. Can't imagine going back to old way of boring scrolling. My home screen is now clean and icon free. Love it. Can it be made to take more than one character as search input instead of the current one character? For example typing 'g' brings up all the apps starting with 'g'. How about typing 'gm' to narrow down to 'gmail' app? Maybe it could be added to Pro features?
Great overall. The minimalist look and fast access to apps are well executed. However, I keep having issues with the app "forgetting" every two days or so some of my apps and not showing them. The cache refresh does not solve the issue. 10/31/20 update: Issues seem to have been corrected in latest update. Awesome launcher! 5-star app!
Very good, quick, app launcher. Especially useful if you're not 100% sure what the desired app is named. The search is live, so it pulls up apps as you type, instead of waiting until you completely type the query and press enter. Displays a full qwerty keyboard instead of T9.
This isn't what I was looking for; HOWEVER, I did download the app due to my curiosity. I enjoy the simplicity of being able to use a widget keyboard to just type the first letter of the specific app you'd like to find. "Call of Duty?" Tap "c" and not only does "Call of Duty" greets you but the myriad of every app that starts with the letter "C" that is installed on your device appears. Very clean, customizable, and a small footprint. 👍🏼
I really like this app...it makes accessing the app drawer far more efficient and lets me keep a relatively clutter-free home page. I would like it even better if there wasn't any delay in displaying my favorites, but there's a slight delay. Still, excellent and useful.
I'm talkin like 5, fortunately until you fix/update bring back the widget I'm not sure what happened but I can no longer see my launch board, on screen or in my home launcher widget menu. Troubleshot it on my end by using 3 or 4 different launchers. Still couldn't locate the widget. it's a dope app love the concept. I have multiple app downloads, I can't necessarily find all the new downloaded apps in app drawer. works best especially for the function where you can just press the 1st letter.
It's ok, and does what it says. IMO, there are better apps in the store. Improvement areas: 1. Only shows apps that start with last letter typed. Other apps allow multiple letters and show apps that contain those letters 2. Can't be launched from anywhere. Others allow area of screen to be set to use gesture to launch from anywhere 3. Only shows apps & contacts. Other apps can show wider variety of items, and can create groups. Check out Everywhere Launcher & JINA for more full featured apps.
I just got this, and so far it is the best app launcher I have ever tried. Very different from other launchers and a very efficient method. UPDATE: Unfortunately, apps stored on SD card are removed from the favorites menu when you reboot, this needs to be fixed. Uses A LOT of memory. NO UPDATES SINCE NOV 2020, ABANDONED? Still nagging for ratings? - 1*
