Pretty weak app overall. Limited appliance control options and it's slow to connect, which is frustrating to the point of overall uselessness. Clunky UI. I have a hard time understanding why GE would outsource wifi connectivity for their top of the line products to such an unimpressive solution. About the only thing that works is the remote alert feature and even then I cant control when and how many notifications I receive. Just a very poor app
It does what is says it claims to do but with a few flaws. First there is no settings at all for this app, you get what you get. I think being able to change the notification settings would be very useful but sadly cannot be done. Second there is no family settings. If you want to share the wifi features with someone they need to log into your account which will kick you out. Next time you want the wifi features you'll need to log in again
The app is misleading, GE's website is misleading, and the information that is provided is extremely vague when it comes to WIFI features. I bought a washer and dryer "PAIR". The washing machine I can use the app as a remote with the CONNECTPLUS WIFI MODULE plugged into it, (START, STOP, DELAY) using the Delay button on the machine and the app taking over from there, however on my MATCHING DRYER with the CONNECTPLUS WIFI MODULE plugged into it, I can extend the tumble time....that's it when tapping Delay on the Dryer to setup the "remote control", no START, no STOP, no nothing else. I understand not wanting to update FAQ's and re-write manuals HOWEVER, looking into the "compatible models" for WIFI connectivity when it comes to washers and dryers is not a large list and there is another large difference in their products in the fact that the premium machines have WIFI built in and the lower models support an accessory called the CONNECTPLUS WIFI MODULE, why is there a difference in what this app can do between the built in version and the module version??? WIFI...nope....an inability to upgrade....nope....it's a good $800 dryer with a $50 WIFI TIMER plugged into it so that's cool.
This app is useless! I downloaded the app. Registered. Granted the app access to my wifi enabled washer & dryer... and then the second I clicked "yes I allowed the app access" the screen went blank... so I closed the app and opened it back up and all the screen has is the GE logo and it does absolutely NOTHING!!!!! I paid a heck of a lot of money for my washer and dryer be wifi enabled.... this is horrible! Please can someone contact me to help work this issue out? I will return both!
The remote function really needs more features. There needs to be a way to change settings independently from the knob. There should be a remote setting on the knob where you can control everything from the app.
Wont open. I got new washer and dryer with wifi I downloaded the app registered a account signed in put in washer info then it said server error and closed app now I try to open app even the day after and it just shows the ge screen but never loads and opens the app. Very frustrating bc I would love to connect my appliances and use them with all their features
Works great on some devices like an S7, but unable to use it on either a Pixel or Pixel 2 XL as it gets stuck on the "GE will provide you a new laundry experience" launch screen. I've waited for over six months for development to address this.
Can't connect to GE wifi device with Android 9. I completed installation with a device running Android 5. Once wifi device was setup, I could run app in device with Android 9. This app is below beta version. The most frustrating part of the GE appliance is trying to use this app. The best thing it does is letting you know when the cycle done.
Can't do much other than starting or stopping the washer. I don't expect the dial settings to be changeable, but at least the button press settings should be. Kind of a low effort app.
What's the point in having a smart home washer/dryer that requires me to remember to set the delay wash/dry before I can connect through the app? Why can't it be powered on remotely to set the delay wash/dry which then activates wifi functions? GE this is not it.
What gives? I have Android 8.1.0 and new software says it's not compatible with my pad and I can't get past the new app download page to use the old app. The smart feature on my washer that I paid extra for is now USELESS. Giving zero stars is being generous. I had to give 1 for it to post
Not great at connecting to you're appliances. It often disconnects from my Washer or Dryer. Works sometimes, not all the time. Take home message, download it, but don't depend on it
I bought this stupid expensive "smart" washer and dryer and now it's telling me I need to buy an additional $50 dongle for each appliance just to use the features that I already paid for. Screw you back GE, I'm returning these dumb overpriced appliances and never buying any of your crappy half working appliances again.
useless. doesnt connect. doesnt find the dryer. i thought it would actually put the clothes in the dryer, command the dryer to dry them, take the clothes out and fold them and put them away... this app is not even close... once again: useless!
Cannot do anything but see how much longer until my clothes are done. Continue to get error message when trying to use the remote control.
It's too basic. The app doesn't take away from this awesome machine though so don't let the app deter you buying one. It's fabulous!
Generic Directions not specific to my appliance. Unable to connect even though the appliance has a mac address and wifi device. Online and owner's manual is just as weak.
How do I set up auto replenish for detergent with Amazon? Is there a notification on the app that liquid detergent in the resovoir is low? App is very basic... Needs to have more features.. Potential is there... Come on GE!!
Makes me enter the model of the washing machine every time I open it. Dryer works fine though. Frustrating.
Complete waste of time. Will not connect. Could be GE trying to maintain corporate distance from its customers. Great job GE.
can't control the settings even after setting the washer and dryer to where I can control it with my phone, I wish this could be fixed
Laundry room is upstairs, while are usually downstairs, so it's great to have the app tell me when the cycle is completed.
This app is TRASH I've had my washer and dryer for a year now and this app still won't connect. If you are reading this more than likely you too have been screwed out of your money by GE.
Too often, when machine is running, it displays "Offline"! This is not helpful at all!
Too bad the app on the phone and the washer app speak different languages, or whatever is the reason they don't talk to each other.
App is good but not great. As others have stated control is very limited and requires you to put the washer or dryer in a special delay mode to access operation. The app would be way better if you could see what the machine was doing in your selected cycle. Right now it shows the remaining time but I don't know if the washer is in a rinse cycle or spinning or balancing or what. Same goes for the dryer although I know from the manual that the last five to ten minutes are usually a cool down.
