Just like everyone else, I get the network exception. I thought it was my phone at first. Finally after seeing the review to download the la view one app, at least I can see the cameras and that app works ok. I wish I never updated, the old version was perfect. Hopefully they get it fixed.
(update in april 2019: with april 8th update, push is again working, adding a star and personally TURNING OFF auto update.)Updates tend to break things (push notifications at the least can no longer be set up, resulting in a push token error with the September update.) The DVR is good, but HIGHLY advise you don't autoupdate this app as previous versions aren't available and the tech support is nearly nil.
P2P disappeared with recent update. The app worked fine until last week when it updated itself. My p2p account disappeared and I had to create a new account as my prior information gets rejected. But, the QR code on the P2P screen doesn't work, so I haven't been able to add P2P anyway. With no P2P access, the cameras can only be viewed from the home network. There's no help on this issue anywhere on the internet, including the laview website.
Laview connect app is very much working, as of 4-20-2019. And I can connect to my camera's from my android phone, even when I am out of home coverage area. And FYI, I recently had an issue connecting my Laview doorbell camera to my NVR and I am glad to report that the laview support team is indeed very proactive and they took some time, but indeed did resolve the issue. I have had this system for approximately 18 months and am indeed satisfied.
I followed all their instructions for installation of this current app but it failed to recognize the QR code nor any attempts at manual input. It wasn't until i read another reviewer mentioned to roll back to 4.4.1. That version worked flawlessly. I then upgraded the latest version and it blew out all my settings. I had to re-install 4.4.1 and go back through the install process. Pitiful that they put out an app that obviously wasn't properly tested.
It worked for a few months, but after that it wouldn't allow me to view my cameras. It said network exception and nothing I do works. For some reason, it works flawlessly on iOS, but it is useless on my phone.
New update 4.7.1 breaks P2P, which is the primary purpose of the app. Like others have noted,you get a network exception error when trying to access P2P. I had to revert back to 4.4.1 to regain access to my cameras again. I opened case with their support but never heard back.
fix.. I had the old app on my note4. great app, now on this Samsung 8, it will not work, no matter what I do, I can not log into my cameras at home, to see what's going on.. until you fix it. this is my star review..it will not even scan the QR code. says Cantor find, this App, is a lot of rubbish
Figured out how to make it work except fast forward. The option is grayed out. As soon as you pick the single playback camera. No longer an option. Please help!
Used older version of Laview Net, worked only on wifi for p2p account. With the new version it wont even let me log in. Found Laview One app, tried it and it works good on both, wifi and mobile networks. This leaves me with 1 star unless it gets fixed.
This app does not work if I'm not home! What a waste of a system if I can't remotely connect to view it! It's a bare bones app and trouble shooting is literally impossible.
I cannot get alarms enabled to facilitate Push Notifications. The settings are correct and identical to my iPhone. I would like the same functionality on my Android.
The physical system works great at home, the app only seems to work when I'm at home. Once I leave I can log in but the cameras never ever load, no matter how strong the wifi is.
It's been a month, still not fixed...Since the latest update, mobile viewing is only working when I'm at home which isn't when it's needed! Help section is not very helpful. Hopefully I can figure out a solution soon, how do I use a different app??
Older version of app worked great. The newest release is very slow and sometimes doesn't connect. Very frustrating.
app is worthless. I cant connect to my cameras when my phone is connected to wifi but sometimes it works with cell data. no updates since I downloaded the app and no support. really regret buying these cameras.
Quick update, google search laview net version 4.4.1 apk download to get your remote functionality back. You're welcome. Why are you guys taking time out of my life? The app was no where near perfect but at the very least I could check in on my house at any time and now after this update the app is completely useless! I've spent all morning on this and still have gotten no where. Why? Whyyyyyyyy?
cant get the online features to work. enter all info nothing works. try the QR scan to connect... nothing. it just simply does not work. cams and recorder work but I bought this for the online stuff. fix it you lazy lint lickers.
App stopped working same as all the other reviews here. Going on 2 months and not a single update. I'm an installer and laview just lost a bunch of sales and recommendations from me. Lot of customers complaining and I can't do a thing about except install the poor ONE app on their mobiles. Customer service is not helpful and poorly informed.
So many people said it does not work. Keep in mind you have to do several things to get it to work. In the NVR you need to pick a "server port" or use the default of 8000. The NVR needs to have a static IP address in your LAN. Once you get it set up with a static IP address, then you need to set up forwarding of TCP port 8000 (if that is the server port) to that static IP address. There's also the pesky problem that probably your WAN IP address is a dynamic IP address, so you will need to set up some kind of dynamic DNS on your system. And of course you will need to set up a user in the NVR, probably a "user" level of user, with a password. Then in the app you need to enter the address which is the dynamic DNS address, the port number, the user name, and the password. If you do this all correctly, you will be able to get the app to work just fine.
mobile viewing on my phone only works when im at home! if I'm any where else it says connection timed out. app is useless. bought this system so i can see whats going on when im not home and I can't. very disappointed
Warning! Not sure this company is in business anymore. Zero tech support. They do not respond to calls, tickets, facebook posts or emails. Strongly suggest you consider another supplier. Our system is useless right now and we can't get ANY acknowledgement from this company no matter what contact method we try.
1/24/19: DO NOT BUY LAVIEW. the app has stopped working for a month now and they have no timeline when it will be back up. their customer service is awful on top of it. 3/21/19 So I buy a security camera system and the mobile app doesn't work making it almost entirely useless unless. If you are looking for a security system, consider a different company that actually cares about its customers. 7/8/19: ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME LAVIEW? 8 months and no service, YOUR PRODUCT IS THE UTMOST GARBAGE. SCREW YOU FOR RIPPING ME OFF
Worst app I have ever used / tried to use. App keeps telling me "Calling has reached upper limit" what in the hell does that mean? Uninstalled it now tells me "user doesn't exist". Tried to re-register now gives me error 41......JUNK got cameras and no remote viewing ability
Like everyone else, at some point after this app was updated, remote viewing (Laview P2P) no longer works (all i get is "network exceptions"). I got one stock response from Laview tech support, then crickets. Laview is clearly aware of this issue, but evidently making no attempt to address it. Like others mentioned, the Laview One app, while far from ideal, at least (currently) works with remote viewing, so using that as a workaround for now. Motion detection at night is all false positives.
