LaView ONE

Had to update my review from two stars to just one. The app shows the alerts on the notification bar but no sound. Also, it takes forever to get the notification. Running Android 10, all permissions on. Obviously I am not the only one with this issue. The app needs to be updated. I can no longer recommend the camera because of the software. Update: uninstalled the app for good, it is useless.

When they stay connected, the app is easy to use and set up. I use sd cards to save $, also easy. Capture screen shots or video clips. Low stars as I have to either restart the app or cams as they frequently say offline. None are further than 75' from the wifi. I have used wifi analyzers checked actual bandwidth from their locations... just no rational reason to keep going offline. Firmware is also been updated.

I first thought the camera wasn't sending the soundwave, but it's a very light/ delicate sound. Turnoff all background noises to hear it to connect. Since setup a few months ago all has worked as stated except the email notification alerts. I remember turning it off, but turning it on again has not made a difference. However, it could be user error.

i don't write reviews unless it's great or terrible. I bought the pan and tilt cam and while the device is good the app is terrible and if you give it a few the device is too. The camera actually panned away from motion when it's supposed to track it. Camera fails to load constantly and the app crashes every time you try to change a camera setting. Camera needed an update, refused to accept it. I would throw this in the garbage if I didn't want my $60 back. Save yourself from the headache.

I wanted to hopefully help peeps that can't connect! I totally stumbled on to what needs to happen, Bluetooth your phone to an external speaker THEN send the soundwave! Works every time for me on my Aomais Bluetooth Speaker. I find the camera to be great, the app isn't even too bad once you get the cam hooked up. Sometimes it lags or force closes, but it's actually pretty rare. I had a smaller hidden cam that I couldn't get hooked into my WiFi to save my life! I try again every 2 or 3 weeks for the past 6 months, to no avail, so I was pleased fully that this worked immediately and easily due to blasting the soundwave outta my Bluetooth speaker. Hope this helps someone! It sucks to have a useless gadget and I never return things, although I probably should start.

Wish there was a setting to not have to get notifications but still record any movement. I use a front door camera and anytime I go out or come in it notifies me and I really don't need to know my own movements. A away from home setting would be great to setup a different preference. Also the recordings need to delete on their own as they just keep building up in the app waiting for me to delete.

What's positive...the pictures, the 90degree turnable, the picture enlargement feature, the quantity of cameras that can be added. Price on closeout was 30-40. Been using 2 mo. Negative...notifications, is difficult, if you use a chip instead of cloud...one does not know if it was a motion or sound notification. The volume on sound is very weak...actually annoying.

The app could use some fixing and updates. The one halo camera used with blue Iris is very good. The app takes many minutes to be notified after the doorbell rings. Working fine in blue Iris. Motion zones are too broad, too many false alarms. Update: use the laview connect app. Much better app and more control, especially the motion zones.

I have learned that these cameras are always running off and doing their own thing. They have a stop at full right and full left and that is where the spend their time. Pointed the wrong way recording the wall. Put the full stops pointing at your area and no matter which way it runs out you will get great footage. Once you learn this everything is great!

Garbage. Will not set itself up on either iOS or Android. Both the wife and I tried setting up and will not. Reset the device and the wifi numerous times on both operating systems, nothing. The device blinks a blue light and the "audio" setup is terrible. Glad it was a gift and didn't have to spend my own money. Don't waste your time or money.

Couldn't even set up my LaView doorbell with this app. It kept saying that the device wifi credentials were incorrect (when the app was the one that copied the password to my clipboard) and my phone was reporting that the WiFi connection to the device was fine. When I tried the iOS version, it got a bit further, but told me my home WiFi password was incorrect every single time. Had to return the doorbell just because the app couldn't even set it up. The signal strength tester is also in Chinese.

Cheap for a reason! Charge ONLY lasts 1 day if not in hibernate! Connection problems, Wi-Fi problems along with other issues! App not the best to work with! I would not recommend this product to my worst enemy! Day 2, charged all again!!! Now wants to go offline and a pain in the ass to reconnect! Worst buy ever! 2.8 waiting for a reason! Didn't tell you app before hand to check first! ARLO was better but not by much.

This updated version fixed the problems I was having (see review by "A Google user" Aug 1, 2019, 4:58:42 PM). I can now rotate the phone and watch live video full screen without the software exception error. An apparent new feature is when using multiple cameras it will sort them alphabetically so to put them back in the order I wanted I added the appropriate letter to the beginning of the camera name string - numbers should work also (1, 2 ,,3). This version dropped support for phones older than KitKat which is reasonable.

Absolutely useless app. Good only for viewing, other than that, notifications don't work, detection area does not save properly and creates random areas. Someone rings the bell but you won't receive the notification call until several minutes later your phone rings but nobody is there and the person left already. SD card keeps asking to be initialized but when its done, it asks to initialize again. Terrible! Should have gone with Ring or Nest.

I have several LaView camera system. The hardware systems seem to work fine. The wireless systems suck! LaView One cameras go offline constantly and for no reason. All 6 camera never work properly at the same time. Battery life is poor at best. The cameras can only be viewed by phone app, no computer support. LaView customer service it non existent. Their customer service was great at first but now they have no phone support. Very disappointed in LaView One.

App was very spotty since installation. Then I discovered that all of the permissions it requires to function were off, except storage. Has worked perfect since switching them on. Why wouldn't it ask for the necessary permissions? I don't usually go thru and check permissions of each individual app. Just grant or deny when I'm asked. -Samsung A50, OneUI, Android 9.0.

Stop recording and recieving motion notifications the weekend following the last update. Still not working. Live view works, but thats not what I bought this for. Another disappointment from LaView products.Had to reset camera after losing the live view. Seems to be working again. Cant add another star since the motion sensing and notifications are more unreliable than it's 1080p door cam.

junk software. my laview one halo refused to setup/connect to my network using the android/playstore app, no matter what i did. i had the clever idea of using an iphone/ appstore version instead, and it hooked up on the first try. i can access it now via my pixel (after adding it using am iphone), but it was significantly more cumbersome than it needed to be. i reached out to support prior to trying to connect it via iphone, but have yet to receive any response from them. go figure.

OK I looked for awhile to pick a camera system that had everything I wanted. I had a Zmodo & their app, camera, overall ease of isntallation are great. But I wanted an NVR so I don' t have to pay a monthly fee, flood lights & camera for outside. Zmodo did not offer it & one other company did as well. So LaView had a big sale & I took the bate. So far the app is horible, 1 flood light works buts all red, the other is being replace because it cant connect. I am dreading to install the other 8 i hav

App is ok to use. The camera is delayed and freezes often. I've had the camera 11 mo. and it has disconnected completely 5 times from my account. Very hard to since back up. I'd go with another brand but I spent $130 on these two. So I'll use them for a little longer

Well this would be a higher score if the doorbell functioned. The app is not being optimized, notifications can override do not disturb and can show up over other apps but it's still fails to open the call whenever someone presses the doorbell.

Camera app only works when you don't need it to. Everytime it sounds like something is happening I go to check the camera and it malfunctions. Waste of money. Definitely don't get a subscription. Completely unreliable. No peice of mind.

It's fine, and it works but I wish it was quicker to access the video feed. When I want to see who is at the door, I open the app, log in, and then choose the device. This takes too long. It needs to have a default device option and a permanent login option.

Easy to setup and use. Features work fine. Lost 2 stars because of Software Exception bug/error when rotating phone for large live view. Fails on KitKat and Jelly Bean - not tested on other versions yet. UPDATE 7/30/2019: Added 2 more cameras, total of 4 using Kitkat. On Jelly Bean cameras 3 & 4 will not display app fails with Software Exception. Deleted cams and readded them using Jelly Bean. All work now.

Great when it works. Lots of times I don't get an alert until 5-10 minds later, reinstalling it doesn't fix it, not sure how to get it to consistently alert at the time it's triggered.

Still missing...in the old (other Laview) app, I used to be able to move through "messages" by swiping left or right. Right now i have to click to go into each individual needle, go back, click to go in the next, go back, click to go in, go back etc... please bring this functionality back!!!

Lags constantly. Offline more than it is online. While reviewing motion detections, it goes offline and will not allow you to look at more than one. Terrible app. Terrible camera.

Slow to open for viewing at times. Can't delete call log of past events. Also can't find any solutions pertaining to this issue. Tried contacting Solution Team but hard to talking with them due to them not speaking English very well.

When you try to update the camera's firmware everything locks up. Also, my camera sometimes displays as "offline" even though it is fully functional. No support for 5 ghz wifi. Lots of small bugs.

Doesn't do what it supposed to do. you turn alarm notification off and your camera will never record any motion or any one at your door unless you turn alarm notification back on and watch false alert all day long as vehicle drives by and even send alert because of sound. Customer support is a joke too.
