Suggested search queries aren't great, and seeking through videos in 10 second increments is frustrating (UI elements inexplicably disappear, and no support for the de facto "tap n+1 times to seek 10n seconds"), but other than that, no complaints. Video playback and app interaction is fast, responsive, and smooth, and native features like picture-in-picture playback are supported.

I'm a strong supporter of what Odysee and LBRY are trying to do but the platform's growing pains haven't really improved in 6 months or more. The app crashes every few videos, as it has since I first installed it. My new problem is that after moving to a new phone, I have to log into the app every time I open it (via a magic link sent to my email). I don't see anywhere I can enter actual password nor do I know if that would fix the problem.

A few problems with this app (1) there is no support for Chromecast; (2) No playlist feature; (3) every video I tried to stream had extremely bad buffering in playback. It feels like I am a step back to dialup internet speed (all other streaming works fine on my network). Sadly I will go back to YouTube as buffering and chromecast are deal breakers for me. I hope these issues are top of your development plans. I want to use and support LBRY after these two issue are fixed.

I appreciate that someone is trying to compete with YouTube. However, this app does not have the functionality to be a proper competitor. It crashes often on a Samsung Galaxy 9, and there is no search history. I liked the dislike button enough to want to switch away from YouTube, but I don't *like* to use it.

It's extremely crashy. And I wish the minimised player could be accessed with a swipe rather than back button while watching a video. ( And Fullscreen also being a swipe up instead of tap on the video to show the Fullscreen button and tap again to go on full screen.) I also would like to make a suggestion, instead of particularly selecting tags each time, having tag lists for moods would be really useful cause switching multiple tag each exploration is a bit of a hassle.

Completely unusable. A typical experience using LBRY is: open the app & it crashes, open the app again then the video buffers every few seconds. Literally can't watch videos on it at all & it's gotten worse over the past 6 months. Throughout the video expect further crashes. I'm on strong WiFi & other reviews & content creators talk about the same issues with this app. C'mon LBRY sort it out it's been long enough, I'd rather pay subscription to help improve the app than put up with this!

Could you please stop sending in the app your notications about missing dayly login credits or whatever. I got several every day with the same bloody subject that cannot be answered, disabled by config or acknowledged in any way. They just keep appearing again and again. It is ridiculous. I'm just avoiding using your software cause I hate having pending notifications. In Odysee web I just use an adblock to send the whole notification bell to null. That's the level of annoyance.

I like the idea, but I'm getting increasingly annoyed with it. The app insists on running in the background, even though it's set not to, in settings. Has to be force closed every time. Notifications are relentless (also turned off in settings). Same notifications over and over, plus emails. It's like settings are just a suggestion. I really want to like it, but I'm about ready to delete it.

Seems designed for phones, and I'm trying to use it on a Chromebook. Anytime I change window size, it has to connect anew, and it loses whatever I was trying to watch -- annoying! But I love Love LOVE the concept -- a better marketplace of ideas! I hope it won't get overrun with spammers; but for now, a lot of the people whose stuff I love to watch are here. Feature requests -- ability to change playback speed would be AWESOME. Also, some kind of better cropping when resizing.

Freezes my device. Not just the app, but my whole phone freezes every time I use it. Sometimes it's immediately, sometimes it takes awhile. When it doesn't freeze up it is hard to navigate because of the terrible UI . You can't collect rewards to be able to tip or comment until you are verified , which isn't working through Twitter and now waiting on manual review. Hopefully it gets better. Pi Network is coming out with something similar. Maybe they can improve on this.

Good app, the main problem I have is that you can't adjust the stream quality so at high network traffic times of day the buffering makes it unusable. It also seems to use the full high quality video stream even when you are only listening to audio. That means it will probably use too much data if you are using a mobile network with a data cap. Unfortunately this means it's not a YouTube replacement yet but it's getting there, and it's great on an unlimited, high bandwith connection.

UI is not very configurable. When playing videos in landscape mode, the videos are still too small. The video will only be about the top 1/3 of the screen, with most of the window being the list of other videos (and their formatting seems to waste a lot of screen real estate). Also needs the ability to buffer more of the video, especially if you've stopped the video to let it buffer. Hard to find channels you know exist.

App is alright, definitely it glitches and freezes when I need to pause something I'm watching and come back to it. If I leave a video long enough paused for like an hour or more, the whole app will freeze and then I lose my place, have to restart the app. The worst thing is, I literally have to sign into the app multiple times a day! And each time you sign in, it makes you email yourself a link. I made a password for my account, why doesn't it just let me sign in with it?? So frustrating! Fix!

Would like to see video go from portrait mode to landscape mode and back automatically. Also a double tap to fast forward or rewind would be great. Sometimes when you try to write a comment you can't see what you are typing. Kind of annoying. Shared links come up as "nothing found" when sent to friends half the time. I have referred 10 friends but have received no referral reward, 0. I really like the idea of Lbry but the bugs need to be worked out.

Glad to have an alternative to YT, but the LBRY app has a lot of issues that are quite bothersome. When you click on a video to watch from the notifications, it doesn't automatically take you to the video (the video will start playing), but you must click on the bell again to get to the video. The streaming is less than decent, a lot of buffering. Auto-rotating has issues. I wish it was easier to leave a comment.

This is a great alternative to Youtube provided your content creators are on there. Tells you when it is running in the background so you can shut it down if you want. Only issues are notifications for videos come hours, sometimes days, after uploaded. Also when you close the app and stop it from running in the background the video audio will keep playing.

I don't like how everytime I open it, it stays open in the background and in the notifications menu. I'd have to stop it manually. Also, it's way slower than youtube, playback wise. I wish it had brightness and volume swipe controls like pipewire or youtube vanced. It would be great. Also, it is a little crowded and can get confusing to new users. Especially on the rewards/wallet part. I don't know which is which.

A good alternative to YouTube. Format is similar enough so it's intuitive. The background player is better than YouTube's. A big issue I have is the app crashes when I push the app to its limits. For example, when I click on something while something else is loading like, adjusting play speed before the video starts, press the back button to go back to my feed before the video starts, etc. Has not improved since my initial post.

Fantastic project with a few bugs: 1) The app keeps running even if I close it. I have to open the notifications bar, swipe down the notification that informs me that the app is running and hit "stop". 2) I find it hard to find stuff. 3) On my tablet, there is a white stripe on the bottom of the screen when I full screen a video. Unpleasant, esp. at night... Hope to see improvements so I can use the app (and the mobile version) more comfortably!

I really want to use this over YouTube, there are 2 things holding me back. 1. Watch later. Without it, it's super hard to collate any significant string of things to watch. it should be a long press on the title or the box, that gives you a context menu to do everything, and/or a 3 dot menu, preferably both. 2. Video performance. I only get 30 seconds of play before buffering. please add a quality select menu ^-^ otherwise its great! missing a few other features but i don't mind

Overall this does work, but problems have arouse. 1. I would open the app and it crashes, I'd try again and it works. 2. I would lock my phone, and it would eventually pause the video, and pressing play on my earbuds won't play the video. I'd have to open my phone, push play and it works fine. Neither one are deal breakers, at least not for me. They're just annoying over time.

I want to like LBRY, I really do. Some of its features are great, like the ability to play videos with my screen turned off, as I like to do with podcasts, such a simple feature that YouTube will charge you for. But setting up as a small content creator is the WORST! Requiring some form of points or monetary system to setup your first channel is horrible, and the verification system is such a confusing run around. I'm about ready to quit right now.

Too many inappropriate stuff, no management is terrible. There's few time I searched stuff that I like to watch, but it always come out something unexpected and it shocked me... and the most issue would be loading time is too long. Sometimes I click a video and it crashed...and crashed few times. I'm sorry, I have to uninstall. But it does have one good thing, it can play when I play games, this is good.

Maybe my tablet is old and slow, but sometimes when i change my mind about a video I'm watching and try to "back out" of it to return to the list of videos I can select from, I see a notification that I'd just REPORTED that video. I did not intend to report a video, for any reason at all, but the app seems to interpret my touch screen inputs as an attempt to report the video for some reason. Perhaps a method to report videos that is less prone to accidental activation would be helpful?
