Using Lead Core while trolling is a way to get down to deep water fishing. Lead core is marked with ten different colors, each color ten yards in length. These colors indicate how much line you have out, and determine along with speed how deep your lure is. It's an inexpensive way to get to the water levels fish are located without using expensive downrigger or weights. With this App you’ll be able to determine with improved accuracy the depth of your lure while trolling deep for trout, walleye, bass, and salmon using lead core line.I troll for trout, and bass, and I wanted to determine more precisely at what depth I was fishing with lead core line. Basic lead core rules of so many feet in depth per color at 2, or 2.5 mph, and partial charts were just to general, and not the accuracy I needed.I often vary trolling speed while fishing for best results, or increase speed for better control on windy days. A few tenths change in speed makes a big difference in the depth using lead core making it difficult for accurate lure depth placement.Version 5.4 of this App is my best effort to achieve lead core depth accuracy. It’s easy to use and increases my confidence of lure placement. Last year was one of my best in total catches while using this App, and this year is starting off Great! it’s one of my most useful, and depended on fishing tools, and each revision has increased that usefulness..
How to Use-Just enter speed, and desired depth, and App displays required colors out. Or enter colors out, and see your current depth. With the ability of changing trolling speed, and seeing the resulting impact.
Auto GPS Speed
- Enter basics, and amount of colors out, then activate the Auto GPS Speed feature to monitor depth as speed changes. This feature has built in averaging, and auto restart interval to better match the actual changes in Lead Core Depth.Note: GPS accuracy dependent on your device GPS Satellite acquisition.
Speech On-Turning Speech On will voice your expected depth, or required colors out in standard mode, and when activated with Auto GPS Speed Mode
- Speech On starts announcing Depth and continues announcing in set intervals of approx. 20 seconds keeping you informed of changes in depth in relation to your speed for complete hands off use.
- Adjustable intervals
Sink Rate Lost Factor-When Colors Out exceeds 3.9 colors, turn Sink Rate Lost Factor On. Sink lost will occur after 3.9 colors out, the amount is a factor of how much line out, depth and trolling speed. The Sink Rate Lost Factor feature does an excellent job of determining current true depth. (Currently can only be used with Colors Out and Auto GPS Mode.)Lead Core Brand Customizing Compensator-Using a different brand Lead Core Line, and feel depth per color is different
- NO PROBLEM! If you know the actual depth at any given color/speed just enter your speed, and colors out into App. Then take the difference in depth of App at that speed, and color out, and divide by the numbers of colors out to get the difference per color. Click on the App Setting button, and select in compensator your difference from -2.5 to +3.5 feet. Setting is permanent until you change it to something else. To return back to default set compensator back to 0.0 feet.Feature can be used to adjust for non-diving heavy lures outside App lure weights. Adjust back again when within App ranges.
Note: Brand Customizing Compensator uses sink rate curve in relation to speed. The compensator brings your brand within usable accuracy.
Eliminate guess work, need for charts, and because developer is a user the application will be reviewed on regular basis for improvements and adjustments made if merited.

The lead core line that I use has a normal sink rate of only about 5 ft per colour. The app overestimates my actual lure depth. Even if I set the minus/plus feet per colour to the maximum setting of -2.5, it still greatly overestimates the depth that my lure runs at.

Horribly designed interface. Doesn't fit on screen of phone so I can't access the 'app settings' button. Can't scroll, no other way to access 'app settings'.

Just got upgrade first time didn’t fit for me either. Your Second try was right on. Good you react to users and upgrade. A lot of your numbers agree with what I was figurin.
It shows an error every time I enter information have a note 9 gives the information eventually figured it out have to give permission in settings fun app works well
