LeafSnap - Plant Identification

Loving this app. Moved and have a garden full of plants, I know nothing about. Although at times it is hard to decide which is the right one, by close observation of leaf shapes with flowers in most cases I have been able to identify what it is/maybe With billions if plants/species I am finding thus excellent to catalogue what is growing Yes adds are annoying but it's worth the small inconvenience to know what they are

Pretty good app. I realize the developers need to get paid but I'm having a hard time getting past the persistent and very annoying ads. Every single time you select an option you need to wit and then cancel an add. Most apps it will only be the first click in a catagory, not every single time you touch your screen! Normally I would have paid for the ad free version by now but honestly I'm not sure I trust it would actually be ad free!

Somewhat broke. Cannot close all ads anymore. EDIT: It appears to be only video advertising coming from one server that is affected. Ads with the "skip video" button in the top right will skip the video, but they will not close on the next page. The ad for tiktok is one example. Other ads close just fine. EDIT 2: Seems to be mostly fixed. The app itself is amazing and has helped me around my yard and garden very much!!!

I tried it out this morning I like the appearance and the response. I haven't a problem with using this app using ads but they're like a 2 parter, the first bit then leads to another ad, which counts down before the x to close which is the bit which is annoying. On my brief use I'd be happy to pay for this app, to avoid ads. However I've only used this once, so see how I go.

I just downloaded this app 10 minutes ago. (FREE version) Tried 6 different plants, (flowers, shrub, young Weeping Willow tree) Took clear pics. Not only were there dozens of results, they were ALL wrong. And thats with me clicking on the category, which I may not always know. Also, it says "Get Premium Version for more accurate results". What? So the free version gives inaccurate results? It was already free for me to guess the wrong answer without an app.

I would give 5 stars if there would be option in the settings to change calendar to start from Monday, as it is in most EU countries (where I am from), American week calendar format is really uncomfotable. Everything else is comfy, love reminders to water my plants, it is relatively easy to use and free version is definitely enough for all basics!

Obviously, the app designers deliberately make the ads as obnoxious as possible to force people to upgrade to a subscription. Usually returna a correct ID, however you have to pick it out of many similar options. To read descriptions, you have to endure five seconds of pop-up ads before each option. Would be better if you could also enter some identifying details, like "has thorns" or answer questions like "are the stipules fringed?" That would narrow search results out the gate.

Great idea and very useful for gardeners. Unfortunately, it has a crippling bug where it crashes out to Acrobat whenever you click on an identification. Devs, info from an app must be presented WITHIN THE APP. If I wanted to use Acrobat I would open Acrobat. Response to dev answer: did you even read my review? The issue is IT CRASHES OUT TO ACROBAT. It is not an ad related issue. I just used it again, and now instead of crashing to acrobat it crashes out to a different PDF reader. Uninstalling.

Free version doesn't work. Uploading and image, the "loading" animation spins forever until it eventually says an error occurred. Did not try the paid version, other free apps out there actually work.

Good so far minor feedback would be to change to be able to use metric system based on what country you select. I have it set to Australia and still uses Fahrenheit and the seasons don't match the months.

It's OK. Can't do too much with paying and in my opinion it's isn't worth the money. Does help toy finder certain plants but ONLY if you start typing the name or a name to search. It has never once been able to identify any of my plants from their photos which is annoying ad troublesome

Ads in your face immediately. Cannot close them, in fact if you click to close, it either takes no notice or opens the ad anyway. Not the way to get people to go 'premium'. If you're so desperate for money just offer pay only, not a 'Free' option. Sorry, but this is not on at all.

Free to use and very easy for anyone to identify plants. I haven't found a plant it couldn't identify yet. The ads are completely understandable and tolerable as they're not a nuisance compared to other apps. I have been looking for an app like this for a long time and I would be delighted to pay a small amount to upgrade to the premium version.

Overly intrusive ads. Edit: Changed review based on developer response. Indeed, I did get a full-screen ad that didn't appear to have a close button. That said, I do still feel like the ad frequency and size was too overbearing.

The main function is ok, but it has irritating bug - since I used a OneDrive directory to import a picture, the app remembered that path and no matter what I do it constantly returns back to it. I can't make it to start looking into local files again even if I select next picture locally.

Awesome app. Was able to identify lesser known succulents. Only thing i would add is the ability to choose different varieties of the same plant, but whatever. Ads can be closed and every feature is free. Love it.

I think this app is great particularly taking into consideration that it is cost-free! The only referral I would certainly have is to be able to duplicate and paste specific words on the display of plant kinds. Specific words may be tough to mean and also it's not duplicate obtainable

I really only use it to keep count of my plant collection. It is nice when you buy a plant at a big box store and 95% the time it's mislabeled. 9/10 leafsnap figured out the exact plant. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the ads are so deceptive that if you click on the wrong place boom, you've opened something that probably gained your info. Buuut this app has been the most accurate so far and easy that I'll delicately click out of the add.

This app is more for people that are growing. Not what I was looking for. I was trying to identify a tree that was growing behind my house. I took a lot of pictures & had to keep going back to the beginning of the app if it was the wrong pic. Choose to take a pic or upload, look in gallery, find tiny pic to upload and upload. It gave me names of all over the USA. NOT localized like I would think. None of them matched my pic. I chose USA & it still showed trees from China

Not free , pile of JUNK, I took many photos of different plants none of which could be identified it just gives many results then asks you to pick absolute junk. It says its one thing with photo then look name on web and shows different photo completely with a bunch of info unlike this app that says we are still learning ... again pile of JUNK

I’m a recent user. I appreciate the option of searching for flowers, bark, leaves or fruit. That can be very efficient and especially useful. Maybe two categories could be combined with the optimum overlap being selected.

VERY user friendly! ANYTIME you find yourself wondering what kind of plant something is. Take a photo and follow the prompts from the app. It's so easy. I'm no smart phone whiz but I had no problem. Take 5 min. to familiarize yourself with the dashboard at the bottom of the page. It's amazing what you'll learn about that plant you always wondered about. I don't work for this company either.🙋🏼 Just a fan!

Absolutely furious! I somehow have got premium rate which I did not want on my app. I cannot get rid of it and when I follow all the instructions to unsubscribe I get the message that " this page is not available" . I contacted o2 and they couldn't sort it out either. Would like to give no stars but it won't let me. Only used it once! I

Wanted to try this out and compare it to a similar app, but only found out it requires payment first after downloading. The download is free, but using the app for its intended puropse is not. Not knowing that it is any better, I am sticking to apps that at the very least have a free trial!

This app does not work very well in the USA. Seems like it's a European app. Here in Iowa, I know what most things are. Snapping them is usually wrong with this app. Most things I snap with it tell me it's a European plant. Idk. It's gotten a few things right. I'll probably find a better app and uninstall.

This app is very useful and I would love to upgrade but I do not use it enough.. perhaps half a dozen times a year, to justify the price. Bring the cost down and make it one off and you will have a lot more takers.

A very good app. I just wish the ads were less intrusive. I understand you need ads to keep the app free, but the way it is done in this app is just way too blunt- unlike any other app I know
