Excellent product. The improvement I would like to see is the use of flash cards for vocabulary learning
it was good at first I thought it was going to be as good as Duolingo, the pictures were great , the grammar explanations were good but then i realized i needed a "subscription" to acess all of it. I will not pay money for an app. if it were free i would definitely use it. also please tell me there's a way to turn off the leaderboards. i don't like competitivity on an language learning app. until the this app is free, im not using it. at least place more ads to make money. i wouldn't mind ads.
I paid for premium so I don't have any annoying ads so I can't comment on that. As for the app it is very nice, I'm learning much faster than on duolingo, since the exercises are much more challenging. I prefer that as i avoid repeating the same basic sentences as a beginner. However I use duolingo to learn basics and to complement the fast pace of mondly. The voice recognition is actually good and picks up where I don't get it right.
looks like a great app, the free content is limited and won't be able to progress over the learning map. But after using it for a few days, I came to like the daily free short lessons. I think it is useful and fun app for learners of Arabic especially if you have some initial background.
It is a good app. I learned words, phrases and verbs with conjugation quickly. It encourages you to study a few minutes dayly by taking weekly and monthly tests. I didn't learn the alphabet though. The latest update annoyed me, they took away the extra points for reviewing the learned previous lessons in the leaderboard. I can only earn ONE for ea! That's not fair. I already was in level 21 and was the first one in my country's leaderboard. I erased Mondly! ....but I think I'll install it again.
Liked it very much at first. But when using chatbot the options for reply dissapear so I need to press what the lady says over and over to get it on the screen. You can't have it in Arabic letters and western letters. Asks about words not yet learnt. I'm on a new samsung tablet and getting silly technical issues with the options disappearing is just too annoying. I'll keep using it till my subscription runs out but I've cancelled it. Much potential but too frustrating to use all elements of it.
Good App but need more clarification... Computer speak and tell the answers this is not good.
Been doing french, despite telling the app I'm already intermediate level all lessons are beginner things and they're all pretty inaccurate. It's teaching much longer sentences and giving the wrong translation. (Eg "where is the toilet" is a pretty simple sentence but they're teaching you to say "where may I find some toilets" which is completely different to the actual question. It's different words entirely and a different meaning which means you won't be learning words accurately)
Not impressed. Daily lessons are too short. Free program is very limited. Chatbot is unable to recognize phrases spoken perfectly. It says there's background noise when there isn't, asks me to speak more slowly when I'm already speaking slowly. You can't skip the phrase and carry on the conversation you're stuck until the bot recognizes a phrase. I don't have this problem with other language apps like Duolingo or Hello Chinese. Doesn't compete well with the best language apps on the market.
I enjoy using the app a few mins each day and very gradually learning useful language. the speaker is extremely clear and easy to understand. I have no desire to learn written Arabic and struggled to find a programme which was purely spoken with the words transliterated into Roman letters. The paid for version allows you to learn faster if you want.
Very good app, 10 out of 10 learning Arabic. One little thing, after completing a question, let the user pass to the next, rather than automatically, so that we can have time to analyze spelling, structure... Other than that, perfect!
Congratulations, the daily lessons are amazing, short and diverse, ensuring review of past lessons and progress. Issue: It is difficult to get the app to capture what we say.
I like this app a lot and I'm using it daily but I think the basis for learning a language should be revision not necessarily new vocab (I have just started learning Arabic so I don't need words like 'astronaut' in my 3rd). Not all words introduced are the given exercises to practice. Not all new verbs have sentences introduced. There's only an option to revise but perhaps instead of daily lessons you should have daily revisions. And then the user can learn new vocab through lessons as they are.
Bought the free trial and canceled before the week was even over. This outdated, elementary method won't teach you anything more than basic vocabulary words by painful, rote memorization. When will developers learn that this is not how people learn languages in the real world? The app itself is actually well-designed – aside from the cheap stock photos — but the material is totally lacking, some of the final lessons available incluce counting to ten! 🤦♂️
Super useful application for learning Arabic. Multifunctional and easy to use. Sometimes it's difficult to understand menu. Sometimes it says you are wrong eveyn if you make correct mistakes. I wanted to put there that screen shot but I don't know how.
There are some inconsistencies. The exercises seem somewhat redundant or one dimensional. They don't seem to compliment each other and progress thru realistic conversation. I think the program has potential, it is better than the others I've tried, but it needs an upgrade now!
Overall structure and design of the app is fine. However, there are some mistakes I'm encountering in pronunciation of certain words. Also, I realised that some nouns are presented as plural form without any information where it supposed to be singular.
I subscribed for multi language pack looking at the ease of learning in this app but after almost 6 months I cannot find anything else except words words and only words. There is no lesson pattern of moving from novice to ace. Their is neither sentence formation lessons nor there is proper grammar teaching lessons. You just keep on completing daily lessons which are often repeated in every month and the weekly and monthly quizzes are just aggregate of these daily lessons. Not satisfied at all !
For some reason the audio isnt working. I clicked on the speech button, my volume was up and the loading bar even completed but there's no sound. The app would be perfect otherwise. I'm a fan of the HelloChinese app style you've implemented.
Worth the price. It will only teach you to speak Arabic though. It uses romanized Arabic and won't teach you the Arabic script so you will never be able to read anything, which seems very strange. The structure or sequence of learning seems completely random too, with the exception of the beginner lessons. In response to Mondly, that is a nifty feature I forgot about, but still not a proper way to learn the Arabic script.
1. I am a paying member and yet it doesn't show up on ATI Mondly app. 2. Though I have the Mondly App with morn that one language down loaded and again I pay a membership. I dont understand if Im on an old app or what 3. Everytime I get a notification the app sound goes mute and I have to start the course all over. I like the app but there are a few bugs that needs to be fix. As mentioned above.
it's really good but you have to pay after level 2 that'd bit annoying, because the beginners are trying to learn words first, and not everyone has time, so they learn in their spare time but you have to pay monthly, that I do dont agree, I think it should be free.
I just started using this app to learn Persian, so far it seems like great app. I would definitely recommend it, $9.99 for 1 month for access to 1 language, $3.99/ month or $47.99 for 12 months for access to 1 language, there is also a special going on for a little while I guess (as of 1/10/19) for $47.99 for 12 months for access to 33 languages. I'm not sure what the normal price is, but it seems like a good deal if you want to try and learn a few languages in a year.
Learning lots! But painful when trying to test your pronunciation. Please stop the bot re-asking the question each time I mispronounce. It becomes even more frustrating when I have to wait for her to repeat herself before attempting again (think 15+ attempts frustrating) I'm picking up bits but not sure of the structure. Do I just keep doing random lessons? Also my gf is Arab and tells me the words they use are not commonly used (eg for 'cash' it was a more complex word than normally used)
Easy to learn. Nice app. User friendly, easy, pictorial, progress chart, extra lessons, redo pre finish lesson, new words etc. are very good features. But two women's pronunciations are totally different and one woman is confusing. Arabic letters are too small and struggle to read those...
Looks neat, no audio. I followed the troubleshooting steps in the app, tried with and without headphones. It's a shame, this app looks interesting, but I'll go back to Duolingo until the devs here can figure out their audio issues.
The worst language app i have ever used. It is full of questions instead of teaching the arabic words or letters first. You get 2 prompted answers after which its full fledged questions and you have to find the answer. No skip option. And you will have to guess the answer based on the picture, not knowing which words is what. Installed and uninstalled within 3 mins
I cried. In a good way. I am learning the beautiful language of my ancestry in a really fun and easy way. I only wish I had done this sooner! BEST APP I have EVER bought and BEST beginner language GAMES I have EVER played. I cannot recommend this enough. It pays for itself over and over.
