Learn Chinese - ChineseSkill

I went in HSK Pro section , and I could see many categories like food and clothing but when I clicked on food , the characters described words related to clothing , related to a different category. I was wondering maybe there is a mistake and the vocabulary has been misplaced, it's not a big problem the app is great though but it would be nice if it could be fixed!👍

It would be nice if you could add a button for neutral tone in the pronunciation chart. After selecting a tone, there is no way of listening the neutral tone again. Thanks Edit 2 I would like to suggest that you sum all points and rewards to a single score. I.e. if If we play in the arcade or practice drills, add points to the general XP score. Thanks

Very comprehensive app. Teaches you how to read and write hanzi, plus it has high quality audio pronunciations. There are many different levels and games so it doesn't get boring (like Duolingo). The one thing they could improve is to stop having there trainers speak outdoors in noisy places - very hard to understand what they are saying.

Please continue doing what you're doing so far, in regards the app games,software updates I feel so pumped up and always thrilled to open the app and keep learning the language I'm currently working on which is Mandarin as matter of fact. Only 2 levels available before you are required to pay for the app. The app is very expensive and there aren't nearly enough writing practice examples.

It's really good I started earlier in the day and then Like I got used to it because I know a little bit of Chinese and stuff But. It's a great app to use if you want to like write or speak or learn the language that you wanna do!!. But also again great app love it so much😁

You gotta hand it to them, this app had some real initiative put into it. A real recommend for all first time learners. But sadly, they removed some good old content & replaced it with a price tag.

This was my go to app since june of 2020 for learning chinese and I am sad to give it this review. After taking a short break I have come back to find that you must pay quite a sum for a premium account to have all the same features I once had for free that made this app stand out. I thoroughly enjoyed this app and I will miss it but for now I must find a replacement.

I am amazed... It is such a helpful app. Well organized, great learning program, good explanations and interesting examples as well as games for practice :) Great !!!

I bought the app and would say for an app the price seems high. Compared to lessons it is cheap though and I feel especially for learning characters it is definitely superior (I did two HSK1 courses for 520€). One point off because I have experienced some scaling issues where I couldn't see the whole question. This only occured on my Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra. I will soon be switching to a newer phone where I believe the issue should be gone.

The app itself makes a very good impression. The only thing that's bothering me is a bug, which causes whatever "letter boxes" you press on to be inserted twice. (So to enter one box, e.g. 下午, you need to press the corresponding box, it inserts 下午下午 and then delete one of them.) Idk if this is just a bug on my part, but any help on this would be appreciated. Already tried reinstalling the app entirely.

I really like the lessons, it makes understanding the characters easier.

Best Chinese learning app in my opinion. A lot of other apps seem to be missing something, but this app does a good job teaching grammar, vocabulary, and pronounciation. I opted to not learn Chinese characters though, just speaking and listening skills. With that said, Xie xie!

Taught me to speak, read and write from beginner level. Fun to learn.

Its the best app and it keeps getting better. I've used it on/off for years. It has grammar lessons, video from natural speakers where you pick what they said, great vocabulary options, pinyin, characters the ability to use one or both. They added another level recently. There is no better app paid or unpaid It's confusing because it seems like you have to pay but you don't. The old version is still available

Wow! Very impressed by this totally free learning app. It's well-structured, easy to navigate, and quite intuitive. The graphics are fun and cute and attractive to even my 4 year old son, making him want to learn along with me! Because of the simple and easily navigated design, it loads quickly and easily and it downloads the lessons only when you go to use them, leaving your hard drive free of unnecessary content until you're actually ready to use it. Would definitely recommend this app to anyone beginning to learn Mandarin Chinese! And I'm looking forward to sharing in this learning experience with him! 👦‍👩💓

I was enjoying this app because it taught me a lot, and included immersion, all for free. But now they've overhauled it and made it the same as any other app, I lost all my progress and now charge for the rest of the features. FYI, if I could pay for courses, I would be attending them, not using an app, and while I believe in supporting good resources, the mandatory change is not appreciated, especially after LingoDeer did the same thing. Goodbye, there are other apps to use.

To Whom It May Concern: I love the well ordered examples as well as the layout and design. It's very intuitive for me to use. It was well thought out. The videos are decent and give good enough explanations. The audio is well recorded and clear, and the writing section is also a fine feature. I am really enjoying your ChineseSkill app. And because I like it so much, I am motivated to practice Chinese pretty much daily. Having fun. Gerald

Off to an amazing start on my quest to learn Mandarin in my own space and time. Excellent for absolute beginners. The lessons are interactive and fun. Develop and practice listening, reading, writing and speaking skills at the same time. Each bite-sized lesson builds up vocabulary in an integrated approach. Review and scoring makes learning experience effective. Love the use of real native speakers of the language of all ages! 👍👍👍

The new learning pattern after the update is her good! However there are a lot of bugs. I had spent close 4 hours practicing and then chose to press the backup button which erased all progress of my time spent. I also went to the section where you choose which language you learn Chinese from and clicked English, and suddenly my progress is 100%. I hope you can fix this great app for the better soon! Keep up the good work!

Very fun and interactive app. Makes it simple to learn and have fun while learning. My only problem with the app is regarding the questions where you write in your answers. Sometimes it doesn't accept my answer because the accent marks are wrong in pinyin, but other times it does. It's very disruptive that it's not consistent. I find that taking the time to put the proper accent marks slow down the experience and I would like it if it accepted all correct answers regardless of accent marks.

it starts out great. As you go along it stops teaching and just throws things at you. But it is also written by many different people with no one checking for consistency so it defines the same word differently within the lesson and marks you wrong for answering with the word you were taught. I'm only halfway through. if it gets any worse it won't be worth the trouble.

After update it removed a lot of features that used to be free (class notes, lesson review and quizzes). I understand the need to boost income, but to make the product deliberately worse is not good. Also it does not check pronunciation of phrases on both of my Android devices. In Apple version, after you recorded the phrase it shows which words you said correctly, but not for Android. The main competitor, Hello Chinese app, works correctly on my phone, so this was the deal-breaker for me.

I've tried many language learning apps, and this is my favorite tool for learning Mandarin. It teaches useful words and sentences, and introduces new words at an excellent pace. I love that it's not too repetitive and I always feel like I'm progressing. You can practice listening, reading, a little writing, and practice pronunciation with the graded speaking practice. I recommend this to all new learners.

Reinforces everything. Practices speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and at a pace appropriate for those who find learning new languages almost impossible. It makes it all so easy, and makes me feel successful. I've tried many language programs, but this one is by far the best and really understands the learners needs.

Excellent.... is really a great supplement to turn to on a daily basis before or after your primary course. It's fun and effective. I've only had slight problem understanding some of the tones which are really.. really similar in real life anyway... let alone on a simulated voice. All in all... however, I'm having fun with it and it helps when you're new like me.
