Learn English By Audio Book

Being a blind individual, any service that allows me to enjoy books and classic literature is a blessing; this application from audioVox is exceptionally credible, in its selections. However, to be totally honest; I gave it 4 stars, because the controls Are a bit unwieldy with accessibility features on my phone. Other than that, I would give it 5 stars; because of its quality. The controls not working well, with accessibility features; I have to give it 4, that's just to be fair and honest.

Great app with thousands of audiobooks but the app is sometimes a bit sketchy, doesn't open things right away etc, and the search results have no order at all, a 'sort' option would be useful. Sometimes the most accurate result doesn't appear at the top of the results but much lower down. Aside from these quibbles this is a fantastic app and I use it daily.

at first I was loving it. But there are a few bugs that are very problematic. Everything was fine when I started playing an audiable but once I pause it, it won't let me resume. I've even tried restarting the app and restarting my phone, yet nothing works. So, if you want to use this app you better hope you finish the book in one sitting.

Lots of free audiobooks for classics that have no current copyright holders, usually with competent readers. But... it does a poor job of properly bookmarking where you were in books. It kept spamming my notifications for no good reasons, until I spent the time in trial and error in figuring out how to stop this spam, without also turning off audio controls for what's currently playing. Also seems like a lot of ads and "pro" features built on free volunteer work?

Many great authors from every time period and genre. Crisp clear audio for an easy listening experience and a clean app interface. The ability to download your audiobook is superb! The few adds (mostly for Audible) are minor and easy to ignore. I have noticed that some titles that offer the text book for you to read along with give you the text from a different book entirely, so be ready for that. In all, I give this app a solid four 🌟.

pretty good app so far. my reason for only giving 4 stars is because I came across one narrator who sounded like he either couldn't read or was reading in slow motion. and there's no option for a different voices or to actually be able to read a chapter on your own, without paying for the pro version of course. My suggestion, hire people that know how to read or at least read at a normal speed.

Useless interface. Search doesn't work, UI disappears from the screen, bad & misleading English usage in the UI. Ads *overwhelm* the UI. The books are LibriVox's usual good stuff, but the app adds nothing to the content. It does load one chapter after the other, but requires the user to be online *and* in the player before it loads the next. It provides no controls for speed or short skips < or >. Disappointing AH. GREAT customer responsiveness tho.

Still exploring, but please make a quick settings for sleep, 10min/15/30 etc. A dark theme would be nice. Full screen ads are a bit annoying, I know you have to be profitable somehow, but smaller ads without sound would be much appreciated. Also the ads are supporting your competitor :/ A rating system for narrator and book would be great, and streamlined categories. A minimized player is needed.

I enjoy using this app and find it quite easy to navigate. Only problem is that between uses the book goes back to the first chapter and using the bookmark doesn't make much difference. would definitely recommend this app to others. I have just reinstalled the app on to my phone. How do I reinstate the adds free arrangement to get rid of the adds?

I really like this app. It usually works well. Great selection of books etc. However, recently when in the Home section looking for a new book, I cannot load anything. Retry has no effect.I tried uninstalling and installing but the same outcome. Please help!

App is so good for reading books.. but please add a provision to resume audio and text from where i was stopped last time on clicking any downloaded book. And if possible, also add time scale on each paragraph (which can be disappeared when not required) which exactly matches with time scale of playing audio for easily finding spoken word on paragraph. i wrote it as it is going to improve my English.

I am trying to get an 80 year old with visual impairement to use the app, and the full page audible ad right at the beginning and every time you look at librivox is not helping at all.

The app occasionally just stops and then I can't find a way back to where I left off. Also, I can't figure out how to go back to bookmarks. There doesn't appear to be any help section or explanation of how to use different features. The books are great and I appreciate the readings, but the app is difficult to maneuver.

Please, Please change the App so that you don't have to spend half a minute every time you open the app to go find the book you already started listening to and then finding the spot from where one left off. Otherwise nice app and i really like the inbuild text version.

It's a very good app. but when I stop listening to a book, it doesn't let me continue from the point I stopped it. I can not finish any book because of this problem. it's just says there is no connection although my connection is working properly and at the same time as plays new books. how should I fix it?

It does work, I use for audio books. But the sad part is almost everytime now when going to play a book it says that there is something wrong and it wont play the book. it has happened for 3 days in a row now. I wonder how long this will be going on. Mind you it is the same book only it is on three different choices of books. Doesn't work.

Really ejoy hearing these public domain classics. Unfortunately, the save feature on the app which is supposed to save where I left off reading, rarely works so I have to figure that out each time I return to what I was reading.

I like the content but wish the reader was listed and could be searched. The bookmark function doesn't work as I expected, there doesn't seem to be a way to mark what chapter I'm on and the app seems to close itself after a time so I'm totally lost and have to figure out where I was.

Works well but it's missing several basic usability features. It would be nice if it set a bookmark when it stops so it can pick up where it left off after restarting among other simple things.
