The choice of words chosen in the app is excellent. I would suggest /point several things for improvements: 1. Opening the app interrupts music playback even though I don't play any words pronunciation. This discouraged me from opening the app during commute while listening to music. 2. The daily quiz is limited only for ten words per day, would be great if it is manually configurable, or at least more than ten. 3. Seems that there is no sync between devices.
It gives you extremely good and needed words, and describes them very well while also giving you the option of listening to how it's pronounced and using them in a sentence. For people trying to learn german and lacking in vocabulary, this is honestly one of the best apps for it. Especially because it lets you view words from previous days and therefore giving you more and more necessary knowledge.
!!! No suggestion to buy Pro !!! I delete words from word list but they are still there!! It seems they haven't ever built this feature but they sell it. It is unpleasant to see uninteresting words or the words which you have memorized before, but they still shining there and making your list longer. The free version has enough.
I rally like the push notifications as they keep me motivated to learn. It would be better if they included pictures at least with some words, as the explanation of a plant, for example, is a bit confusing as it could apply to many.
I like really this app. When I dont have much time for heavy stuff (grammar, complex texts), but still want to learn something, I use it to enrich my vocabulary. 4, 5 or more words, every 1 or two days, is better than nothing.
Great and helpful app, really like it. It would be great to have at least the new world translated to English, but of course it would be better to have translated the examples as well. Another great thing could be a widget. Thank you developers for this app.
I particularly like the selection of vocab, which is very practical. Also the examples of usage help a great deal giving you a better understanding and contextualisation, which in turn help remember the words.
Its actually a pretty simple app which is useful and practical. Although the audio files are not available offline, the word and examples themselves are still availabe to review.
Primitive, useless app, which allows you to do exactly 3 things: 1) look at a single "word of the day", which is NOT chosen based on your interests, vocabulary, previous words you learned etc. Instead, the word is the same for every user. The description for the word is often too short to understand the meaning, unless you already know the word to some extent. E. g., on 21 Jan 2020, the word of the day was "geborgen", and the description was "sicher" (yes it was 1 word!). So what's the difference between "geborgen" and "sicher" then? You'll never know. 2) buy another app, "Pro" version. 3) Go to the "Settings" menu, which has (surprise!) absolutely NO settings. You can "restore your purchase" here (purchase??), "rate the app", see hyperlinks to Privacy policy and Gen. Terms/Conditions and the developer's e-mail. Again, there are NO settings. You can't change and/or customise anything in this app. I'm uninstalling immediately.
Good in general... 2 problems though: 1- No copying option, which is a very important feature for learning. As I need to translate some unknown words or explanations. 2- On one update it stopped giving daily words. Now solved.
It's simple, it's efficient for its purpose. There is the word, the meaning, an example, and an audio pronunciation. Great for level A2 and above
A word with relatively short sentence and native sound is great. Wish to see English translation and different voices are more helpful. But great app.
The feature to delete words from your list doesn't work. First of all, it would be of great benefit, if this would work. Second of all, why have the option if it actually doesn't work? Besides that the app is nice.
It would be easier to see also possibility of translation in English at least. Otherwise is great! I like examples and sound
Nice, but can't copy the word nor the explanation text. No option to translate it neither. So not so useful unless you are already fluent in German.
mega toll!!! German it's hard because of the gramatik of course but as well because it's a loooottt of vocabulary to know! so this small every morning reminder it's kind of cool or more than that pretty amazing help 😁😎 thanx!!!
I like everything about the format: it really forces me to look up more words. I love seeing conjugations in context, being able to hear it in addition yo the definition 👌
Great app, it's easy to use with very good explanations and really interesting/creative choice of words and expressions.
Easy to use, everyday a new word is shown. There is just an explanation not a translation so makes you think more about the word.
The words are a mixture of normal and unusual so you get a good variety. Can go back to previous words to brush up as well.
This app is great for boosting your knowledge of German. I love that the explanations/definitions are in German and that the word/expression is shown in context.
Nice app to learn new words on daily basis. Sometimes it's tricky to understand German-German translation (especially for beginners) but we always have translator :)
Very nice app. To be better, could download a number of past and incoming words and sound files over WiFi and keep it.
I wanted to rate 4 start because the developers could make it possible to change to at least 2 words per day, bus since it is not the promise of the app, I gave 5 star. Good job after all.
It is a good app but I expected to have translation of the dayli word ad sample sentenvce too, saw that orhers complained about same subject.
The vocabulary is nice, the example sentences are great and the voice-over is brilliant.
Since i am still learning German, it would be great if Wort des Tages would integrate with Google Translator or at least allow me to copy the text that I would then paste on Google Translator
The app is useful, but it would be better if the definitions and examples could be easily translated to English. I am trying to learn German vocabulary, and I am having a difficult time with the definitions and examples because my German vocabulary is very limited. Perhaps a button that would allow users to get English (or other) translations? I realize the text could be copied and pasted into a translation app or portal, but that is awkward. I will struggle with it a bit more before I give up on it, but I think I will look for a different app that translates meanings of vocabulary into English. But this app is useful and well done. If I already had a better grasp of basic vocabulary, I imagine it would be very helpful.
