Really nice app to build your German vocabulary. Learning everyday 3-5 words helping a lot. Thanks for this app.
Extremely well done. Presents the learner with the pronunciation at an ever so critically reasonable rate instead of near light speed only understandable by native speakers, then continues to repeat those words one did not remember until by sufficient repetition one can get all in that section. Also, very critically, it provides the correct article with each word. A suggested serious improvement would be to continually test the correct article for each word. This is ever so important.
The app is great, but the repeat should be improved, for example to be for separate levels.. To choose the level you would like to repeat, or to be divided into easy, medium and hard words, for example. But to repeat the whole words from the beginning every day, is not helpful at all to learn new words.. Also the cards need to be randomized
This is an OUTSTANDING app! EXTREMELY well-designed with a clean, user-friendly interface, and above all, extremely helpful as a companion to your main German studies, or just to enlarge your vocabulary. Each noun is given with its article and plural, along with usage in an example sentence. After my first five minutes of using the app, I was sold. It is definitely worth the money. If you're serious about using this app, just pay the $5.49 to unlock all levels and get rid of the ads.
So far I like that the ads are only after a section is done, and that they teach a whole sentence with a word that helps you learn it in context with other words as well. Very helpful feature. It'd be nice if the sentence could be said out loud too, though. I've already studied some German, and it's nice not to have to start with the extremely basic tourist phrases.
Just great! This app is perfect for learning. It is challenging, free, beautifully desinged. If you don't have the best memory this app makes sure you do with imagines for every single word, with games, word-sounds. I would like if there will be some vocal games, ideal when you review the words or even when you learn them. Thank you for making learning fun
Very good. Would be much better though if for the games section it was broken down into levels that just focus on each group of words, and then as you keep going they could also have some previously learnt words thrown in for example. At the moment the games just go through all the words in one continuous stream so each word only seems to appear once. Its therefore loses a really good tool for helping memorise new words you have just learnt.
New nouns with articles and verbs are given to practice every day along with the plural form of the nouns. It is really helpful since the images are given along with the words so it helps in memorizing. Also the voice is very clear so the sound of the words remains in your head. But there should be a way to revise the words that we have completed. A section with the entire list that we have practiced
The best app to learn German (not only words, but the grammar too, because it gives a lot of sentence examples). You enjoy the app while learning. The app gives you 70 units with 50 words each. So when you finish the app you know at least 3500 words. You can save the words that are hard for later, and also add to your favorites, so you can easily check them. 5/5
Great app for memorising words. This is the first app that has helped me to quickly memorise words and also articles. The app is basic, especially in design but, I find Tobo far more efficient than many bloated language apps. Yes it is filled with adverts, but they help keep the app free! When an advert plays I simply use duration of the advert to practise words I have just learnt. If I encounter an annoying advert then it's simple, I won't download that app.
It is a very fun way of learning words and practising them. What I really like are the several different ways to practise words through games (bug - the games throw in some words not yet learnt). I especially appreciate the part where you can practise just the articles of words as that is what I find hardest (my language also has m/f/n and it clashes with German). The review part where you can categorise by difficulty is neat, as well, as I can choose to review just the harder ones later.
This app is perfect for me, learnjng on tram or bus, and suitable with sb prefer little lengthy games but still effective
It's great so far. The flash cards are real nice. The games are clever.
Really liking this app for a flashcard type learning aid. Easy to use, and fairly intuitive. If it had one more feature I want, I'd give it 5 stars. Just wish there was an option in between total mute and playing the pronunciation of every word.
Things I love about this app: • Each section has 50 words, but they're served in sets of 5, so it's easy to pause • There are games that test your recall instead of just recognition • There's a practice section. You can skip words you forgot and it reminds you what they mean • You can rate each word by difficulty to improve practice effectiveness • Each new word is presented in a sentence where you can learn how to use it in context as well as other words and sentence structure
I have a premium and this is the best app I found. I wish I could add my own vocabulary as well, then it would brilliantly complement my German book. Words should be ordered in the course by frequency in real-life language, I'm quite sure they're not, this is not clever. Pronunciation of plural forms would also be highly useful.
Would be better with some improvements. Needs more customizable options. It would be nice to be able to spell words with our keyboard and not with jumbled letters. And to have words in each lesson divided into easy, medium, hard etc. overall this can help build vocabulary.
Excellent, very impressed with pronounciations
Great app for practicing the most common german words. I've been using it for almost a week and I'm surprised how helpful it is. But i have a suggestion: Games should have checkpoints. In my opinion it was better if it was just random words tou already learn with the current game flow (without advancing through checkpoints and not seeing that word again) especially for the Der Die Das game which is super important
Great app for learning vocabulary. I'm using it to improve German vocubalary and it is really helpful. It always shows articles, that are really crucial in German, and lets you train in an easy way.
Bought app without ads. The last 9 stories are locked but not worth it additional 3 euros. The fist words are described and in the sentences which is great. About 90 percent words are without sentences. So it seems a bit not finished app. So the 3 stars is for whom trying to finish whole course. The app simply gets only for first 100 words.
Im using Spanishwords from this series too. I think, especially, at first you need to absorb as much vocabulary as you can, and this series is the best. The GermenWords is better than SpanishWords, because of the example sentences. It has the plural form of the words and articles too. But it lacks pronounciation of the plural forma and the sentence. Please add the pronounciations too. Thanks A LOT.
Nice app. Better than rest. 1. Not sure why right swipe does not count as word learnt. It should. Also does not show up on practice unless I flip to english translation. 2.picture should be on learning side to help visual learning.. Setting? 2. Plural needs to be bigger font and as separate words. Thanks
I dont mind ads in a free app, but sometimes after learning a word I will be taken out of the app to a website in my browser belonging to an ad without even clicking on the ad. That is completely unacceptable. I do not want ads to automatically take me to their website when I did not even click on the ad. Please use a less aggresive ad model.
fulllllll of disturbing ads. While you are practicing the new vocabs, by a single wrong answer you are forced to start from the very beginning unless you watch an ad for about 25 secs or pay for an upgrade, this is not fair actually. We dont have access to international shipping systems in our country and this makes using this app troublesome.
It's O.K., but nothing more. Words come in sets of 50, that are then broken down into units of five for memorisation. There seems to be no rationale behind the grouping of the words in each set of 50. Why not group them by theme, such a home or holiday? When presented with a word you have a choice of ticking to say you know it or putting it in a pile to revise later. Each word is put in a sentence to show its usage, but sometimes these sentences use words that might be considered advanced. The adds are a bit annoying, but they pay for the app: their blessing is they can be stopped after 5 seconds or so. I certainly would not dream of paying for the app as there are far better ones out there.
Superb app to learn vocabulary, easy to use. Includes interactive games, cards with images to practice.
