Very well designed app. I enjoy using it, & I'm definitely picking up some Hebrew! Like anything that one is learning, you get out what you put into it. This app is a great vehicle for learning quite a lot of language & vocabulary. It provides a great start to learning a new language & pretty much removes obstacles & excuses! I wish the recap at the end was a bit slower. It's super fast. Also, being entirely new to Hebrew, I am instantly frustrated and annoyed being expected to spell in Hebrew.
pronunciations are not always accurate. audio clips are sometimes cut short. the app does not clarify the context of a word, eg translating ambiguously without specifying whether noun or verb. inconsistencies, eg translating a word in 2 different ways, or the same way but with different spellings. does not work without a data connection. to justify the pricey subscription better quality is expected
Simply advanced and outstanding. I am a Christian who also wants to be able to read and understand the Old Testament. It's very, very hard to find anything, translators, dictionaries, etc, with transliteration. This app not only transliterated but you are able with a single tap to move from Hebrew writing to transliteration. I can't brag enough about it. Thanks Mondly!
This is the best language app I've ever used. It gives you both alphabets so if you're just trying to learn to speak Hebrew you don't need to know the Hebrew alphabet. It gives the opportunity to answer the questions with your voice which helps to make sure your accent is correct, because it won't select the right answer without the correct accent. I'm honestly surprised about how comprehensive this is. It should have the option to focus on parts of speech like nouns and verbs, like in school.
I would like to practice with other of my Nation in other words Jewish community but it should be free until one reaches a huge level of Hebrew Language. Please Thanks!
I'm not sure I would ever recommend this app. I paid for the service to learn more than 1 language....and after checking the Korean and Japanese parts, I'm not certain I'm learning the correct vocabulary for people. The translations are wrong for brother and sister in Korean and Japanese, so I'm worried they're messing up other words too in the Hebrew part.
The ad is deceptively promoted as a free app. Most features are not free. You are given a very brief daily lesson. If you do not use the daily lesson precisely before midnight, it ceases to be available for free. You are constantly nagged to pay a very high price for the full app. Do not give them one cent. Find a more honestly promoted alternative.
It is enjoyable and nicely presented, and the path to learning is well-planned .. though I feel that some tutorial before the exercises could improve the learning curve, and an option to slow the playback of the speech would help me while I am totally new to the language.
First of all, this app doesn't open and so I downloaded the main app to study Hebrew. I checked 'Advanced' but am still getting beginning vocabulary and lessons. I have no interest in paying for premium until I know if this app can do more than Duolingo is doing for me. I was excited to be able to use voice input but what good is that if I can't try advanced lessons on my level? I deleted the main app and unfortunately plan to delete this one.
It's a great app that allows you to learn vocabulary and phrase for a variety of subjects through repeated engaging and interactive exercises. I would say it's more appropriate for people who already know the basics of Hebrew. It'd be great if some explanations on how to read could be included.
I cannot get a response from the programmer, after emailing twice with several days in between each email, concerning the app not opening for me after paying for the premium version. It seems like the programmer must be a theif since I cannot either get the problem corrected or receive my money back. I will be more than happy to change my review and give 5 stars if I can get help to continue learning Hebrew by being able to open the app, as I really liked it... while it worked for a few days.
Excellent app, and God Bless them for making it free! It might be improved by making all the buttons with words clickable/click-holdable for pronunciations, or other information, but this isn't a drawback, but rather an improvement. Looking forward to learning more!
The apps is helpful but i feel unsure about the usage of some words from how i learned it and i feel like it is too repetitive in ways that dont help me remember the words but instead get bored. It should make the user write more instead of just keep repeating the same sentences. Also the part where you have to put it in english is useless because its too obvious
One of the first apps I ever used to study Hebrew many years ago. It still be effective and I continue to learn. Thanks to the team that made it possible. For sure worth the time and dedication to study as it be simple for beginners and it's also for intemediate and advance students.
I like very much that everything is spoken.You can hear the pronunciation of every word. You can also speak in chat mode and it won't let you continue until you pronounce the phrase correctly. unfortunately, the free version is very abridged and gives you very short sessions. otherwise I would give it five stars.
Wow thanks Mondly, for making it easy And fun. It's really helping to get me back into the swing of regular daily mini lessons. I'm considering upgrading with the annual payment option, but for now, really appreciative of the free daily lessons which are supported by my own self paced studies extra to this app. 😊
I have seen several learning apps. This is the best in terms of learning interface. I just hope I can pick the basics of the language and then i would upgrade to the paid version. Team great UI and thanks.
Very good app experience. What let's it down is the voiceover which often pronounces words wrong or cuts out before finishing a sentence. This is very frustrating and makes the app almost unusable.
okay but...hard to follow pronunciation. Quizzes on words it hasn't taught yet. Doesn't give enough review. If you get something wrong, can't redo. Also no pronunciation guide, so it's hard to remember which syllable has the emphasis.
UPDATE ! 7/22,2019 I want to thank you for listening and adjusting your Hebrew App back to a much more understandable Voice and correcting the speaker's speed of talking. I just reinstalled the App again and if all goes well I will probably move on to the paid version soon. Well Done ! ( And keep up the Good Work!) [Maybe you should send an Email to anyone who uninstalled your App. before your updates. I believe that I would have returned sooner had I known.
Pretty good app, visuals to accompany the spelling and pronunciation of words and phrases. Perhaps needs a little more repetition with the lessons, smaller more repetitive sections.
As usual with language apps, this app too gives you a few phrases and no more (you can't even learn Hebrew alphabets). You need pay for getting anything out of it, if at all. I probably wouldn't pay seeing what this covert demo has to offer. EDIT: I reserve the 5th star for apps that are free and show no ads. The max you can get is 4 from me. And that's rare. Maybe 3 if I saw more usable content. Not that I want you to offer free and ad-free app. You too need food and shelter. I can understand.
Amazing for learning languages. No annoying ads. When you try to speak, the app actually understands you. Also, I quite like the interface and the design. It doesn't rush you into anything.
I love that it gives to visual and audio aids. It's been a week but great so far. The chatbot is really cool because it tests your annunciation so it's actually good practice. Great job to whomever put this together!
Tried 7 days free trial period, which should have been lasting till 4th May. However, on the 4th May in the morning I received a bill for the next month payment. So, I was blatantly fooled by this app. Give me my money back, the app doesn't worth it!
I just installed the application and I have some basic knowledge of hebrew , but now I am closer to REALLY learning to speak my native tongue than ever before. I have installed so many of these "learn to" apps, only to Uninstall moments later. I highly recommend this app to anyone who really wants to retain what they are learning! Thank you to the developers who have a one-of-a-kind app that DOES work.
There isn't another app that is intertaining and challenging than this one. The repetition of words through different challenges is a great way to learn Highly recommended.
I'm SO Enjoying Mondley. Here are Some strong points of this online language acquisition course: It's fun to interface with, the graphics are BEAUTIFUL...,although being female, I'm jealous of the picture perfect female models Mondley uses, repetition is excellent, verbal responses by student are encouraged, competitiveness with other students in gaining points charges the adrenaline, weekly and monthly tests are perfectly designed to language acquisition Weakness: NO human instructor available
This teaching app works for me. It goes at my own pace because I have to tap "continue" before it goes to the next step. I can also redo a day's lesson to get the benefit of repetition. I tried other apps. This one is best for me as a total beginner.
