I learned a lot of words very quickly, but only in written form. The pronunciation is MUCH more difficult, because the speaker goes WAY too fast. Also, almost everything in the app is for purchase/subscription only. That is obviously the norm for free apps, but there's usually more free stuff than is offered here. I did like the things that are free, and I learned to recognize words and phrases quickly. You'll want something more comprehensive if you want to go beyond that though.
Well,I just open it and I think it really help me alot to learn Hindi,,,few words and phrases a day will not make you struggle on memorizing them....keep practicing...just the sad part is I don't have enough money to open other lesson ,maybe I will just use few lesson that are free ..btw thank you for this application ,I will try to recommend it to my friends if they wanted to learn new language too ❤️
I am puzzled as to how you learn. It shows me four pictures with Hindi on each, and then it will ask me to clarify click on the dress, for example, but I don't need to know the word for dress as I can see the picture. Then it will ask me to translate a ten word sentence that has nine words that have never been taught. Go figure. I've now been using it for a week and I have learned nothing. A complete waste of money.
this is a great app. I have tried quite a few. There is good access to the modules in the free version. the sessions are not timed which is helpful. There is also a choice between the romanized and Hindi alphabets. however at the moment the sound module keeps disappearing and you have to continually clear the Cache. Very Annoying!!! . if I could I would downgrade my rating to 4 stars because of this annoyance
I'm giving this 5 Stars. I have not been on this app long... however I feel comfortable with it. I love the repetition because that is after all how we learn. I also love that I can press the speaker button during the lessons and hear the proper pronunciation so that I may practice speaking the words and phrases as I am learning. I am finding this app extremely helpful and am very pleased so far. :)
Very funny and flexible learning method.
As a Deaf, I am having trouble with microphone. It pops up frequently. The rest is very great.
This app is very nice. This app is very easy to use & no ads disturb in-between. It's very easy to learn!
Marked as a free app, but the first thing that comes up when you download it is a message to say you have to put in your payment details just to get a 7 day free trial! That is definitely not free! Update: The free lessons are quite good once you access them, but you definitely need to change the starting screens to not put people off
Very nice to learn Hindi 😄 but if you can can you add more languages pls it will be fun and remove the premium option pls
Well, I learned many in 10 minutes, very good application for learn spoken hindi
It would be handy to have more hints and grammar and an introduction to the alphabet but the conversations are good.
Its very good but its takes time to open catogaries sometimes
This is a such bad app because it always asks me to take subscription for money then i disagreed and continued to learn without subscription at one point of time it denied to learn without subscription for money
The only thing missing are the fundamentals which you can get from other sources. It's an excellent language app but few tweaks like slower speech could be useful. However, it's not truly necessary for the serious curious learner. Great job Mondly, thank you!
I enjoy the format. Has a list of words to memorize, but has the option to look at and learn different tenses or application of the same word if you want. At every point you can switch the translation and learn the meaning of a word. I love this feature
Good initially but misleading. I now understand why they want you to pay for a year. Seem to be guidance regarding verb declension etc but this is not a core part. A lot of the time your left guess what some of the words mean which means you don't learn word order and grammar and opens one to reinforced learned error. Try a different system not this one, overpriced.
After last update went very bad down. Often lost voice during lesson. New system of writing words isn't user friendly. And not at last elavuates mistake everytime different (same mistake once only "almost" once mistake). Don't mentioned very bad translations to Czech language, can't fit right answer when Czech sentence doesn't have sense. This is reason why I left paid version as well...
I have enjoyed using this app for many years, and maintained a daily streak for most of that time, until yesterday when my streak of 1476 was reset to 3. I imagine the system was restored from a two day old backup perhaps. I have written to Mondly in the hope they will fix it. It'll be heartbreaking if they do not.
I use this app to study Hindi when I'm in coffee shops. It's got a lot of very useful expressions and the exercises are helpful in helping you to remember the vocabulary. Although not exactly cheap, I do think it's worth it if you're really interested and you know that you are committed to learning. Highly recommended.
This app is so buggy that I cancelled my subscription. Quick review function got stuck on first lesson; chatbot speech recognition fails at some point and does not let you move forward; oftentimes voiceover starts to cut first syllable of all words/sentences and even restarting app does not fix it; etc. Otherwise, the app can be used to exercise some useful phrases. But it does not teach you script, so you have to learn it beforehand. And it does not explain any grammar, so you get lost soon.
I subscribed yesterday for a month but I feel like I wasted my money because the app reading, no sound. When I first downloaded using free version it was reading after buying it stopped. Update I contacted them and they fixed the problem...its a good app.
This app helps to simplify the learning of a new language, it encourages its users to learn small portions of information daily, and I believe that there is no more powerful (and more challenging for me) strategy in learning a language rather than being regular. Thank you, Mondly! You helped me overcome my "lack of time" reason to not progress.
It's awesome app, but I need to know about particular topic related for example, how to speak with drivers for booking car and how to tell where I am standing , and where are you , how long it will take , like this type of options should be there. If this kind of options available it will be great. Otherwise it's awesome.
basically a paid app, but it doesn't tell you that when you download it, instead they call it 'free' but only 1 lesson is free and 3 or 4 daily lessons are free, after those you only have the option to pay for a subscription or delete the app because it's useless without the subscription
It's good but I think the lessons move on too quickly and introduce words that aren't then used again or explained. More repetition is needed for learning and consolidation. I would also like the Hindi letters to learn at the same time so I can recognise the words.
Just started Learning Hindi with it..The interface is fluid and the lessons are helpful..But there are certain errors in grammar basics..For eg. "He learns German"-correct translation is "वह जर्मन सीखता है" since the sentence is in Simple Present..But it is given in the app as "वह जर्मन सीख रहा है" which is actually Present Continuous tense.I wonder how these basics go wrong..Pls correct such errors soon so that total beginners to the language won't get their basics wrong..
Don't be fooled by the free download, this is a paid app, one small trial then every other feature is locked. I chose begginer level there was no basic start. The only way I was able to complete the trail was based on previous Hindi lessons on Duolingo. It would be impossible to learn from scratch on this app. There was also no option to learn the alphabet (Devanagari) so if you don't know the letters you have to learn in English symbols (Latin-script alphabet) useless app. Get Duolingo.
