Annoying and disruptive ads come up way too frequently. edit: I understand they need to pay for the development and 2.99 is a fair price that I'd pay if i like the app, but being greeted with full screen pop-ups after nearly every screen is so repulsive that i can't stand evaluating the content - it was an easy decision to uninstall after 1 minute. edit 2: reinstalled to get the latest version they mentioned, but I'm not seeing a difference.
As far as basics go, this app would be like a transcript for anime dialogues, if one wants to learn the kanji for those dialogues which isn't necessarily bad, but I don't think I would recommend this to any beginners (mainly people who don't know Japan's polite culture) cause the language here is very informal and since it's very accessible I fear complete beginners would have the wrong idea of conversations. Still the app has a good base if its worked on more it can become a lot better.
I'm using this along with various other apps, books and flash cards. I think it would be useful to slow down the speach and maybe have a spaced sentence as well as one with no spaces. The food and drink section seems really odd. It's only got one thing relating to food or drink. And that's 'im hungry'.
This is for the free version. If you pause and press play,during the add the app runs in the background causing you to miss parts.. have to start the part again if you do that while listening.. you have three 5 second add in less than a minute. That's way too much.
Very nice definitely worth it, only problem is there doesnt seem to be an option to mass download all the lessons, even then they take very little to do so, so its fine, but it would really add to the off line experience.
I love the app but I think it would benefit from added notes so you can see how the sentences are made like the place markers {I believe that is what they are called} etcetera. For example the app says "I read alot of manga" but someone may want to say "I read some manga" perhaps adding notes would help make it clearer and so people can change the sentences {sorry if this doesn't make sense, I am not to sure how to word it} Despite that it is a great and handy app, thank you for your time. Yuna~
The apps ya'll make are fantastic but the ads are quite distracting. I would like to know if the ads would be completely removed from all apps with the 10 dollar donation or if i would need to pay 50+$ to have a better experience. Great app but would be disappointed if that was the case, thanks.
Super awesome and easy to learn. The voices say the words at a very nice pace so they're easy to understand. Most of the phrases are everyday phrases, some are not phrases I would typically use, and some are just plain funny, but overall extremely awesome and user friendly!
If you could add a no audio mode for when you are in a crowded area. Or forgot your headphones that'd be super. As is you can turn the sound off. But, then you can't hear the people speaking during the test.
Please fix this app asap!! So many bugs. I can't down the audio data also. It always said 'Check your internet connection' in fact my net is ok no error. I did uninstall and reinstall the app but won't work still can't download the resources data. Please fix it!. Thanks.
this app is full of programming glitches. When the screen format doesn't match up. often the answer is not visible or reachable through touch. having to answer incorrectly just to push past the poor pagination take away all the fun.
they updated the app. i see no change other than changing the interface and adding the ad so that people can pay them. that is fine, but still no hiragana. i would pay for it if it has hiragana above those kanji. also, i prefer the old interface. the new one is inconvenient. it doesn't really look good either. edit: very rude. won't take suggestion and criticism. drop to one star.
Helpful. I like that you can read sentences combined with Kanji. I wish you could put sentences you don't know on a separate list so you could study only those. otherwise it is an excellent app for reading Japanese.
I really like the app but I find the sound app makes after a correct answer really distracting and there is no way to turn it off in the settings (only all sounds...)
The app is amazing, not only the UI but also its topics for learning. Frankly, I downloaded most of PORO apps since they're so helpful and makes everything easier to remember! However, I notice that this app doesn't have Furigana, there is Romanji, but I'd prefer Furigana for reading Kanji.
This app is awesomely good at the moment because I just installed it... I really have problem about the downloading thingy... Can you guys put some things offline??? It is a good app for learning japaneese especially when working with the making of sentence it helps a lot for it contains so many helpful sentences....download it is a good and wonderful application.
I love this amazing app but I'm giving it a 4 star review hoping to get your attention, could a furigana option be added to the app? It already has romaji setting but I would love for furigana to be an option to enable as well to make kanji reading easier. I can't use it at all! It says there's something wrong with my internet connection. But I checked and there isn't. I even tried using mobile data. I allowed permissions and everything. Stupid app won't work :(

Easy to use with lots of options for hiding either japanese or english writing, very handy in the learning process.
Planning a vacation to japan soon and want to not be a ignorant tourist assuming everyone will know english. i want to actually immerse myself there and learn as much as possible this app is definitely helping along with textbooks. :)
it is improving conversation skills with romanji and audio lessons included. It comes with many lessons too.
This app is amazing to learn the daily day to day life real sentences which helps a lot for who studys japanese.. it has also furigana also kana to understand..
Every time I try to do ANYTHING on the app, it says data download fail. So I literally can't do anything on it.
I love that the app provides all of content without charging your customers and you only have to pay if you want to remove the ads. The app allows you to remove romaji, it's easy to use, has audio files for all the content, which is so important for conversational understanding, and has a simpler user interface than other similar apps.
