Learn Japanese - 6000 Essential Words

I'm rewording my original comment. You seem to have misunderstood it the same way you have with similar reviews. I understand the need to make money, and as I said, no problem with ads being used in a free app. My issue is the way you flood the app with ads. Fullscreen ads popup while trying to use the app. I try to click on the app and an ad appears, I end up clicking on the ad. Ads are fine. How you use them isnt. Your answer, buy it. Why would I do that when i havent been able to try it first

This app is very helpful when it comes to learning Japanese. It gives us the opportunity to learn Kanji and its Romaji. As for the English translation, the feature of having pictures to differentiate same words with different meanings is great. They used these and categorize it in an understandable aspect. For example: the words back and back. We don't know for sure which is the body part and which is the direction or place. To help us comprehend which is which, they used pictures. Thank you!

I really like that the vocabularies are grouped together based on topics which makes it easier to learn. However, for those who are fast learners and don't have that much time to flip each flashcard, I suggest that you also add a cumulative vocabulary list for each topic where you can just scroll through all vocabs at once Edit: omg I'm really positively surprised by the new update! The vocab lists are nicely designed with pictures which helps remembering the words. Good job!

NOT ACCURATE I'm an intermediate- advanced learner and wanted to improve my vocabulary. Just going through some of the lists to check off what I already know and there are too many mistakes. Sayonara is not goodbye, it's farewell (as in I'll never see you again and is sort of rude). Foot for distances had the picture of a clock?!! Do not use this app if you're starting out because you will learn the wrong words/ usages.

The ads are wayyyyy too much. Every 2 clicks I did was an ad. Every lesson isnt available for free either as the app is a bait to buy the pro version for $30. With everything I found it looked like it was only pictures with flashcards... with only a minority of the dictionary/encyclopedia for the sections such as food. There are many more better options to learn Japanese, even more so for pay options. Not to mention this is $30 for a fraction of Japanese

This is really, really cool. This is exactly what I've been looking for and I've been frustrated while looking for anything like this. This app has such great categorized vocabulary that's actually useful and not just JLPT focused, with visuals and large print for the vocab to make it easy to learn! I haven't explored the app very much yet but just those alone was worth dropping the cash. I'm so excited about this app.

Edit (response): Yes, it's useless because that isn't how language learning works. The price is absolutely extortionate for an unusable and extremely limited dictionary. This is my single most regretted app purchase. The developers must know the quality is poor; at that price bordering on a scam. Original review: Can't filter by difficulty level. Spent loads on it but it's basically useless without that.

After actualization add appears every where you clic. Most useful and interesting lessons are only premium. If you are no interested in paying that's really no reason for you to download it. However I think it could be useful with premium. I understand you need adds for earn sth but now it is impossible to use! Before update adds were only sometimes so it was cool, but now I can't give more the 2 stars

Don't know what happened here. The other app of listening to japanese is way better. This one you have to download everything. 🙄😔 I guess if you open every single word while online when you go offline, the sound is there, but it makes the app heavy storage-wise. The same as if you just download all the audio for offline use. Five stars because I really liked your listening to japanese app😘

Its exactly what I needed to improve my vocabulary, basically a dictionary with audio and pictures. A really wonderful study aid, when Im feeling unmotivated to learn even a passive scroll reminds me I still have much to learn and its all right at my fingertips with this app.

I had a great experience using this app. But I don't know if is a bug or just something is wrong but found some sounds expecialy in the particles lessons that is different from what is written, for example the word for "over" that is written のじょうほう i hear the sound のかみがた

/edit/ 3 to 5 stars not exactly bc they fix what i dont like but i appreciate the effort they put into the app. Also, again, please provide an option to disable romanji completely in the reviewing, not helpful for intermediate learners. /old/ I like this app, more comprehensive and organized vocab activity than other apps.

This is my first look review. I absolutely adore how convenient it is to surf through all of these flashcards. I think start by learning the vocabulary for the place you spend most of your time at. For example your bedroom.

This app has been very useful, it's a flashcard method with pictures, sound, pronunciation, and written form. Perfect for memorizing words and quizzing yourself. It's perfect for self-learners.

Edit to last review: It's Not Google's fault for Your failure with ads. YOU control WHEN and HOW the ads show, not Google. YOUR programming allows ads to pop up in the middle of flipping through cards. To fix it and still have pop ups, change WHEN the ads pop up to only do so when first entering one of the activities, and to NOT pop up in the middle of the activities. Popping up in the middle of activities is what's intrusive and not conducive to the learning process. Zero Stars!

My biggest dislikes are: 1. there is no text setting for romanji, kana, and kanji. I like to turn off romanji and need this as an option. 2. The cards and quizzes don't have kana/furigana to help read. For questions, you have to spell in kanji, which makes it hard to study. 3. The lesson category words(health, food, home, vegetables, fruit, etc.) Are not included in the study words, and only have kanji to read them. Those essential words need to be included as words/cards to study.

Love the app and go pro right away since it's not too expensive like other interactive vocab app. but can you give options like to hide the romanji (i'm trying to remember the reading and romanji is distracting) or let autoplay audio after i answer a question or flip a flashcard? I want to hear the words as i learn it.

The app is very helpful for studying japanese. However, downloading the sounds of a topic seems to be quite slow. Im using wifi and it kinda irritates me. It would be much pleasure if you can improve/fix this. Thanx :)

I am honestly glad that applications like this, particularly this one, exist. At last a simpler method to learn Japanese. It is so precise with its interpretations that makes it advantageous to consider even learning this language. I am also thankful that you can download tabs for offline use as well. I truly applaud the team that put this little astonishing app together.

Thank you so much to the creators of the app because I did not know which words to start with but this app grouped words into sections which was so helpful. Again thank you <3 ........ Definitely works out for me. Great for beginners like me. This app is very different from most of the others educational apps as in this app we can actually learn the meaning and grammar of the words and sentences which helps out in properly speaking japanese. Quite satisfied with this app

My main concern with the app is that many essential (N5) words like 飲む, 売る, and 曲がる are not included in the app, even though the app says it contains essential words. Considering that they responded promptly in my previous review and that they are working on including JLPT vocabs as mentioned above, I think the app deserves a 5 star.

The app could great, there are too many full screen ads while evaluating the app. I'm a premium app user and usually buy apps. But this one is so annoying I don't want to. Either make a premium ver or use a sane, reasonable ad policy.

Okay so I really love this app. But I have to give it 4-stars because those words with kanji in them, you can't see the sequence as to how the kanji is written. Other than that, this app is completely fine. THANK YOU, PORO💖

really nice and all but after studying for a while and showing the Kanji I learned in the food section to my Japanese friends, they couldn't read most of it. I hope this app would tell me if the Kanji is common or not at the very least. Overall, this was kind of useful; just not the Kanji part.

I don't get why people gets angry about the adds, like, this company or the people who made this also needs some income and we don't pay for using this. But on the other hand, you really make one of the most helpful apps for learning other languages! Keep it up!

Not Loading Content... Something is wrong, the other apps work but this one doesn't load any of the content so I can't use it. It shows wifi exclamation mark symbol instead but I'm connected to wifi.

I really like this app. It has multiple features including flash cards, which I really enjoy. There are also a wide range of topics about loads of different things! I would 100% recommend 👍👍

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! very frustrated. be aware app need constant connection for app to function. Developer refuses to reimburse because it need to download offline packages, which is a challange while you overseas with limted data. very frustrated!
