It's great for reinforcement, it does uses quite a few kanjis but that helps for study references. The examples are real plausible conversations. Haven't upgrade to premium but is not an excessive amount of adds. I recommend it for students. If you're just starting with the language, this app may be difficult to follow.
This is a really good app for learning how to speak Japanese. As a student FORCED to take Third Language, I downloaded this app to practice speaking. It definitely helped! Maybe you can add a feature where the person speaking can say a sentence slower, as sometimes it's WAY too fast, and you couldn't catch it in time. Ads are annoying but are occasional, so it's fine. Overall excellent app! 👌
I just installed the app and started navigating to understand the concept, but on every link, it opens a video ad, which is quite annoying when you are on the first access. I thought of going for Pro as the content seems good so far, but I gave up as there are ads everywhere and I couldn't move forward to check what I can get from the app. I know ads are important, but a video ad on Settings screen, is a little too much.
Every single conversation, whether only tried out or completed, ends with a video ad, it's quite annoying unfortunately, so much so that I uninstalled after only a few minutes, even though the app itself looks promising. Ads are common and important, I know that, but it was really a bit too much, having to watch, 5+ second video ad after a ~15 second conversation.
Excellent! This app contains a treasure trove of conversational specimens spanning across a variety of practical situations & functions well as a useful aid to develop auditory skills in Japanese. 2 pointers for futher feedback: I do hope the audio will continue to run in the background even when I close the app for a while - & please add night mode, if you can :)
It offline and an extra 60mb to download the audio files. 130mb of storage, which is ok 🤔 Audio works offline, plus the words to follow. Lots of options. Even though it's an over 100mb, I think it's worth it, as most of the app is free, and filled with great learning information that I have not seen anywhere else, including stories and news 😘 Five stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I just started using it and it has exactly what I felt I would need to improve ky speaking. A large database of sentences read by Native speakers and the Ability to simulate a real life conversation by turning off Japanese and turning on English while listening to the first part of the conversation and responding. It is sure to drastically alter the way I speak. Truly Awesome
Great app! Actually useful dialogs! Easy to use, and it makes it fun to learn!! I have only one suggestion: dialogue practice mode, where only one half of the dialogue plays (eg, only blue bubbles or only white bubbles) and the user can try say what is missing. It would be especially good if it had an offline mode too (i.e. dont have to have internet to practice the dialogue). Thanks for the great work!!
Great app! Nice and understandable conversations with different difficulty levels and nice exercises to pracrice not juts hearing but writing and spelling. Also gives you different display modes when listening so that you're able to read it in romanji, hiragana or none if you're a pro already. The only con is the adds, but hey, they gotta live from something, and there are not wven that many.
Awesome app, nice and simple design, its really easy to use and it helps all levels of learners. Great variety of sentences with a good audio quality to top it. The only problem this app has is that in some sentences the english translation seems a bit off. Other than that i find this app the best way to train japanese on the go.
Excellent to practice listening and learn some new stuff... it is a great conplement and an amazing review resource. Just don't expect to learn from zero from it. It doesn't look like it was meant to teach anyone from a scratch. It isn't the app's fault.
I love using this app. I use it to play in the background so I can have lots of exposure to Japanese audio. They have various levels and stories and has proven to be a great resource on my Japanese journey
Very flexible for self-study. A variety of audio to practice with arranged by difficulty, plus common phrases, news segments, and short stories. I find apps like these more convenient than a book + CD and liked this one enough to pay the fee to remove ads.
I loved this app so much! The only problemi have is that I really want to learn japanese...its not actually a problemis just personal.Oh and I have another thing! Lots if apps don't do something that really can help. And that is to say the audio can turn slow. That would be SUPER helpful! But overall I LOVED the experience!💗👉👈💕
Really good app. It really helps me, I've been looking for a good learning material for studying the Japanese language.. and here you are. Didn't really mind watching some ads, as a fellow developer i understand that if an app is offered for free you must find a way to earn even just a little fund to even further the development of the program. Overall, very helpful app. Highly recommend to those otaku who want to learn the language.
excellent app. but it would be better if the color of the conversation is not blue. Because users hardly see the text of the second person. And the background noise is too high of the conversations.
The levels of conversations are perfect and extremely accurate from beginners to fluent speakers and have a great way of explaining the meaning of each phrase. A great way to put yourself into every day situations and scenarios, too.
Very accurate language expressions! Still need to explore more the app but so far I like very much the common phrases section. It includes a variety of common situations and the options for fast and slow listening speed are very useful.
Unlike other learning methods, this one includes romanji with practical use conversations. Most other apps require you to gain a certain level of reading and writing proficiency, which I am not that interested in, more to leverage conversational application. Very effective.
Extremely useful. A lot of ads but they did not interfere the learning in my opinion. Even if it become a problem, i would pay a no-ad version. Its worth!
Please use more basic and shorter sentences for the beginner lessons. It's pretty difficult to get the lesson with such long sentences being used, at least, in my case. I would greatly appreciate it if you implemented my suggestion in to the app
Very nice, short, amazing listerning practice, aslo u can pick up alot of expressions and words to help u in ur daily conversations, also it could be a nice reminder of what u have studied , a good reading practice because of the options in to hide/show kanji & translation.
App is really great. The only issue for me is that you can't type from keyboard, instead you have to select from blocks randomly placed at the bottom. It's really annoying
I really like the app and it's content. I wanted to get the pro access to have the full benefits but it's too expensive. Especially for one app. If you can lower the price and include all the PORO apps it would be great.
This sure is a really good app, It teaches you so many things, and it each covers a different topic. I had been trying to learn Japanese like forever, and this app really helped a lot. It's simple but useful, and it doesn't have all those sign in stuff. But the reason why im giving this app a four star is because you gotta pay for the pro version. I know that is what most apps do, but other than that, I really recommend this app! ( Also i edited this many times since wanted to make it clear) :)
I really like the flow of conversation being featured here as well as the guide to use Hiragana whenever a Kanji character would appear. I wish a Romanji explanation is available as well if possible, though. Please inform me if I had missed out any features that might have (or will) assist me in this matter. Thank you!
Provides 175 conversations, as well as common sentences, news stories and short stories, all with audio. It is an excellent resource. I don't recommend it for absolute beginners, you should be familiar with the language beforehand. There are a lot of ads but that doesn't detract from the excellent value this app provides. I also recommend the grammar app from the same team.
