After 3 months of use as a Spanish vocab supplement, can't recommend. As I start to get further down the list of words, I noticed that the creator stopped adding pictures for each vocabulary word. Also, if you get a word wrong, the app allows you to continue saying you learned it. You can literally get words wrong and move onto the next set of vocab. When I go to the review section, it won't tell me which words were wrong. I will continue using until I reach end but not impressed.
This app is well designed, except for one serious problem. The font size is quite small, especially for mobile device screens. Readability is a real problem. I hope they improve the app to allow the user to select larger fonts. I'm learning Mandarin and both the English letters and Chinese characters are hard to make out. Also, some text is white on emerald green, witch is also a poor choice. I don't use this app as often as I otherwise would, due to these readability issues.
Too many spelling errors, so it's confusing for beginners. I am an intermediate in Korean and have been using the app to brush up on my skills. But, I keep seeing errors like 아바지 instead of 아버지 or 두 instead of 둘. Also, some of the translation is off. For example, they translate 연습 as exercise when it actually means practice. It would have been a great app otherwise.
It could have been better but has major flaws. First of all, it takes a lot of time to load the content. Then when you finally get to it, you only get a disappointment because you can't hear the Pronounciation of the word even though a button is there for it but is not working at all. It's very difficult to understand a new language without a sound. Please work on it. Because I found modules to be good from It's outlook so guess there's a scope.
I honestly like the way the app is structured, it is very simple and straightforward as well as easy to understand with repeating words and getting them into your head! I am currently learning Korean and my pace is kind of fast when learning certain vocabulary, so the voice that pronounces the words are in my pace, which I love! I hope I can move forward with this app, learn more grammar, vocabulary, etc. I am looking forward to learning more as it goes on, I enjoyed the experience, thank you!
This is a great app. It's very similar to Duolingo and the way that everything is set up. I love the app, but unfortunately, I've deleted it as the Spanish is not accurate. I am a Native English speaker and have been learning Spanish for two years. The number nine is incorrect (they said "nuevo" which means "new" in Spanish; "nine" is "nueve"), I don't know what else could be inaccurate and I don't want to learn the Spanish words wrong. So, I am sticking with Duolingo and Mondly.
Hello I tried this with German and I didn't like it over duolingo While it does have potential I think it needs these Things 1. Placement test. The, Beginnger, intermediate, and, advanced don't usually work 2. Better UI The UI just doesn't look good IMO 3. Sentences I've just used it for a bit but it doesn't have any sentences. Sentences can make you memorize vocabulary, definition of words, how they're used an,d grammar. There are some other things but other than that the app 👌
I dont know why this app is so underrated, its so so so good!! Even better than duolingo. This app is teaching you some words, it's not boring while you are learning and it doesn't take too much time. And I like how you can learn from your own native language. ( there are some mistakes though) I hope you will add more topics and even some grammar exercises soon!! (I'm learning Spanish from Turkish)
This is an awesome app My only drawback so far is the spelling quiz. For example: lo siento(Spanish for Sorry) is two words, the spelling quiz has it as one single word(losiento). There is no way to space the words. There is no enter button to push to see if you got it correct. I just skip it and I still pass.
This app forces intermediate/advanced learners to complete beginner topics before moving to more appropriate lessons. It asked my Italian level, and when I selected advanced, it brought me to a lesson on hello and thank you. After exiting that, I tried to select a higher level lesson but they were all locked until the beginning ones were completed. Why bother asking the level? This app kind of feels like Duolingo and Memrise had a weird baby.
I started learning Italian and this app is helping me a lot! It has a diversity of languages and will be very useful because it has all the languages that I'm learning. (English, Spanish, Germany, Italian, french and Korean) (my first language is Portuguese). And the most important thing is that it's free, I'm not able to pay for a course and this app is my salvation at this moment!
There is a glitch I found when I am trying to play an audio it won't play until the question I answered was over. There is also a bug on the Korean alphabet. It just shows a white screen and that's it. I definitely think this app has great potential which is why I'm putting a three star review.
Great app İ am learning turkish at the moment and i can say it's great for vocabulary , of course i don't think it will teach you everything, just expands your language vocabulary . İ myself have the "İstanbul kitap (yabancılar için)" and started watching shows and interviews for pronunciation and listening. İ do watch some educational turkish videos as well. And Google translate too, i want to learn spanish and french later as well. Definitely recommend it
This is a really good app I'm having lots of fun using it I can even use ofline. The only reason that I'm giving 4 stars is because it talks very fast that is the only problem. What I think to improve the app would tha add a speed up speed dawn button and add somthing on the app were the different languages it can tell you what it sounds like to people speaking separate language if that makes sense besides that it is a really good app I love it and definitely recommend it
The concept is awesome. When learning arabic you have to write the words backwards to get them correct that very confusing especially when you are a beginner. Also it starts right away with words and writing them instead of explaining the alphabet first.
I love this app it really helps me learn languages that I always wanted to learn. I learn the right pronunciation, the writing and the meaning I definitely recommend this to everyone who wants to learn languages without having access to a native speaker it's free and you have a big variety of languages you can choose from
I've only been using the app for a little under 5 minutes and I already have a complaint. Though I love the layout of the app and appreciate that it puts commonly used and important words/phrases first I have to give this app a low rating due to the fact that that's literally it. No lessons on Hiragana and Katakana or even Kanji. Some of the first words it gives you have Kanji right off the bat. As a beginner this is a complete setback as I don't know a thing about Kanji.
I really like this and it's a lot of help (since my teacher refuses to actually teach us and tells us to learn it at home) and I am having an overall good experience. Though the ads are kind of annoying, it's worth it for the amount you learn between each one!
This app is amazing! Unlike duolingo and the vast majority of apps where you have to pay for unlimited use, or pretty much all of the rest of the language apps where you have to pay to learn anything, this is one hundred percent free. And it's amazing. You learn quickly and easily, and i would definitely recommend it. Not a very wide selection of languages, but that's pretty much the only downside. There's no reason not to get it if you're trying to learn a new language. Thank you!
I am learning Hindi. I uninstalled this app in less than 5 minutes because the spelling portion is entirely inconsistent when it comes to the order used when placing tiles to form words, particularly in respect to adding matras onto the consonants. It sometimes would follow the order one would normally use when typing with a keyboard app (which should be the order always used) but other times would tell me that order was incorrect.
Nice, friendly interface. Haven't checked if there's a setting to make the character bigger, which would make it easier to read. It works well if, like me, you need a mix of repetition, focus on writing and listening.
I'm using Duolingo for more than a year and this lingo king is better than Duolingo, I started loving this app a lot, but the only suggestion is you should improve the "writing" (filling the empty boxes) and there is less content for some topics ( in Hindi there are only upto 11 numbers in the number topic) not only numbers there are more, I hope you add more in future, Other than that this app is very much recommend to those who love to learn different languages.
Nice app, and I really like that it's free! Though can I suggest adding quick tests that alloe us to demonstrate our mastery in one unit and unlock the next? Many things I know but have to relearn in order to move on to new things, which can be tedious.
The ap is nice and despite being free there are no ads. The UI also looks good. The maim issue i have with it is that i have noticed some words misspelled, which gets in the way of learning.
I started learning Korean with this app! It's super helpful with numbers, common phrases and many things. I can't give it a five though as I have not had it for long although, I would definitely suggest this app for those who are interested in learning languages. It's a life saver
It's good for learning vocabulary, but the review section could be improved - specifically if there's more than one answer. Eg, there's no way to distinguish whether the app is asking me for orange the color or orange the fruit. I know that I know both words confidently but I don't like when the app counts it against me if I guess the wrong one with no clues for which version they want. Even something as simple as Orange (Color) or Orange (Fruit) would be super helpful!
