Learn Phrasal Verbs - Wlingua

Lost for words? Catch up on phrasal verbs!Understanding and learning phrasal verbs feels like a minefield. This app allows you to learn and practice 1900 phrasal verbs. It’s 100% free and no internet connection is necessary.
This app uses a learning technique based on spaced repetition. It’s useful when acquiring a large number of items and retaining them in memory long term.

You will have time to be familiar with the new phrasal verbs and then you’ll be asked to do a series of exercises, organised into learning cycles. You can decide what phrasal verbs you want to learn
- the app will automatically propose more if necessary.

You can also browse phrasal verbs one by one to see their meaning and uses.

To make sure you retain it in your memory, repetition does not happen randomly: you don’t waste time on reviewing phrasal verbs you know well and the system will assure you review things you really need to review, because the system collects information about the words you remember and the ones you don’t.

There are four types of exercises, each of them represents a different level of difficulty:
- Let the right one in: Complete the sentence with the right phrasal verb
- Two of a kind: Match the phrasal verb and its definition
- Lost for words: Complete the sentence with the right phrasal verb (verb and particle will be apart)
- Unscramble: Complete the sentence with the right phrasal verb (letters are all apart)

Install it and get started!

Excellent, but not perfect (somewhere in between 4.6 and 5). In my opinion, there are several things for future improvement: 1. must have for implementation а. In the app's screen "Progress" it's going to be useful to have some way to obtain the list of PHaVE which you have already studied(for example by tapping on number of assimilated words ("high", "medium" and "low"). b. The frequency of PHaVE is different so maybe it's more useful to study most frequent first or add for example special list something like 25/50/100 or 150 of most frequent PHaVE. 2 maybe for implementation(this could seriously change game mechanics) In some point of your study, you remember the combination of words/letters (there are only two training sentences for one phrasal verb) it could be useful to add extra letters in "Unscramble", extra words in "Lost for words" and extra sentences (without disclosing them in card of phrasal verb).

1st_Seems that it's just waiting for me to tap on the back button on the screen and then hooorayyyi, it escapes out!! 2nd_there's no way to know where in the test you are, so it becomes exhausting sometimes 3rd_No history! No way to know your mistakes and weaknesses in the past! But after these all, your app is still great, I have to admit.

I found this app very useful to learn those bloody phrasal verbs so difficult for foreigners. I'd suggest the developer working on what happen when the Android's back button is pressed. Currently it causes the app to close so as you end up on the previous app used or the home screen. This is not very convenient when I want to simply switch between study and browse for example. Thanks for this good app though!

In the explanation of laugh at the verb giggle is misspelt. All techie aspects are key but spelling is basic. It is THE thing to improve.

This back button problem is really annoying! For iPhone it's maybe OK but Android phones have back buttons and they should properly work! Almost everybody mentioned that in comments but no progress... Shame on you developers!

This app is the best one to learn phrasal verb. But it still some bugs and need to be improved as: 1. I want a button to back to list when I am at praticing mode (currently I press back button of the phone, it exit the app). 2. I want a button to reset all words i add to favorite list. 3. I want a mode only to learn words i added to favorite list (currently it play some words i dont add to my list). 4. I want a place to manage words i click plus button. Hopefully, you will improve it.

It'd be better if you add audios to the phrases and verbs. Sometimes we find new verbs or words and exiting the app to find the pronunciation it's kind of annoying. Maybe you can add the translations as well, but I know that not having the translation actually helps better to learn.
