I thought this app was pretty good starting out as a beginner, but once I got to the intermediate stage, it started throwing in tons of Spanish words it hadn't taught me yet with no translations. I got through a few intermediate lessons and switched to fluencia. I am now 2/3 of the way through with it and like it much better. One thing I like about Busuu is that you can review other users and get reviews from them on your work. TIP: pay as you go instead of getting a long subscription so you don't waste money if you get stuck.
Overwhelmed. Frustrated. Stuck. For me, there's too much vocabulary that isn't repeated enough before I'm tossed into more unrelated vocabulary. I failed the first certificate test, which crushed my enthusiasm, and never received any certificate when I did pass. The newspaper lesson, though a good concept, was WAY out of my ability range. If I stuck to learning Spanish from just this app, I would give up. The best thing about this app is the interaction with native speakers in chat lessons.
I really enjoyed the practical style of this app. Gets you ready for day to day conversations. If you want the whole experience you have to pay for the the extended version which I did for a month or so. I liked the interactive format, fun excercises and getting feedback from native speakers. Definitely my favorite Spanish app
good learning platform with though-out concept! Feel like I'm progressing fast. Some bugs in the app: when I try to record audios during excercises, it always says "oops something went wrong, no connection" although if I do the speaking excercise at the very end of the lesson it is not a problem to record with the same wifi. Additionally, Busuu suggests me to "strengthen my weak grammar", although all topics are on green. Also, the grammar to be strengthened is still the same as in the beginning
I had a terrible learner experience as i proceed to more advanced levels where the course focuses on grammar and the audios for each grammar course are missed, so for every grammar course, i had to search vocabularies as they are all spanish and read with my best attempts. There arent translations so strong assumptions about the learners have been made. It becomes so hard to persist. Eventually the learning becomes ineffective and even useless.
Edit: as a Busuu user BE CAREFUL. Once you want to stop using Busuu you have to cancel ANY subscription, even when it expires. Ex: I subscribed for a 3 months access, what I did not know though was that YOUR SUBSCIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY, without any notification - and that's my issue with the app. Consider yourself warned. The app on itself is fine, easy to use, you got access to listening, writing, speaking and reading exercises. It works a bit slowly at times but it's not a big issue.
Free version you have to skip some lessons or pay for premium to unlock so stopped when got to lesson 9 and you can only complete some of the lessons 50 percent so maybe premium is worth it but can't afford right now
On it daily. The biggest advantage is you connect with other speakers, native or learners, they can correct your exercises and you can correct theirs and help out. You can meet people from all over the world. Advanced content only for paying subscribers but the basic version is great.
I have used Babbel, Duolingo and a few others without much success. I get bored very fast with those apps. Busuu provides a variety of activities and encourages interaction with others. So far,I think it is the best (I am studying Spanish). It's the only app that accurately assesses my level and starts where I am.
Is there such a way to make the lessons load much faster? The estimated time to finish each lesson was doubled. It lengthens the interval from one lesson to another. Whether it's downloaded or streamed online, still the same, it loads so slow. *Try using other well known language apps and you would notice that their lessons loads faster. * I really like Busuu because of its content and provision of certificate but I'm really having second thoughts purchasing this app.
It's a very great app! It has a method that help your memory and you can review the vocabulary you have encountered. Too bad some content aren't free🙃🙃😅, I think it's worth it Please fix the video and sound problem.
I was first using the app Bussu but it was full of bugs and some lessons couldn't be completed. I changed over to this Bussu Spanish and my previous lessons were completing but now this app keeps crashing and I have to quit as the lesson won't proceed. The overall idea is good but the app need a major fix.
This is the best language learning app I've found but It losses stars for very bad app. It takes ages to transition between stages have have to press "continue" up to 10 times before it moves on. It's very frustrating.
It's a good way to start learning Spanish and honestly that's all I really expect from any of these language apps. However, just like many other mainstream apps, you only teach Spanish as spoken in Spain when I'm sure most people downloading this app want to learn Spanish as spoken in Latin America.
Amazing. I'm also learning German and ive learned more in 2 weeks than i did in 6 months with books and Duolingo. Best app EVER!!! I can write well and speak...sometimes...decently... I'm excited to improve and work towards being fluent. Love this app. Literally changed my life!!!
I really like the service Busuu provides and it was great for a long time but the app now takes at least 30 seconds to load a single menu screen. I don't know whether it's my account or what but it really slows down learning.
Buggy! Love this app but its lacking. Its always asking me to review grammar but almost never review vocabulary. There are words I have only seen once. And when I do review vocab, it will sometimes mark those words as unreviewed. Also, the grammar review only includes the A1 grammar. Where is A2 - B2? Sometimes it will award me 10 stars but only give me 5 stars. There are other times it will take away 5 stars for no reason. Its not important but looks buggy.
Its simple to use and pretty enjoyable. I think the learner community is a great feature. Users correct each others exercises which is great because I get to help other users learn as well as getting feedback on my own exercises from native speaking users.
You occasionally find examples that need further explanation and there is no way to get community feedback. Also, a few times the audio wouldn't work on a question and there was no way to report or skip the question except by clicking "I don't know". Overall, it's a really good app. 4.5/5 stars
This is hard. It doesn't start off with easy things it goes from "I am" to "Where is the nearest hotel" in about 2 lessons. And you can't review without paying. I recommend Duolingo to the people here. (Español) Duolingo es más fácil.
Great lessons I paid for the premium and find it really useful. But the app crashes a lot and says I have no internet which is not correct. I uninstalled it but makes no difference 😕
The app works ok so far. One suggestion i have though is that persons who correct someone else's exercise should be able to edit their corrections/comments. I made a mistake and I don't see anyway to correct the mistake via editing.
I love Busuu. I have the premium subscription and definitely worth the money. The app lags when accessing a lesson so hope this is fixed very soon. Sometimes, minu I see from other comments that they wish it could be free. Who on earth is going to make a free language learning app, with great, content where they have native speakers in the dialogues who are giving their time? Who is going to pay for the team who develops the app, the servers we connect to...etc? Everyone has to earn a living!
I really love Busuu and its scheme/method of teaching is very comprehensive. But right now I'm unable to login back after mistakenly clearing data from my phone. It's not "continuing with Google" not is it going through when I put in my Gmail as well. Help?!
I was not impressed with the trial. Using luck to place phrases you don't understand does not help the learning process. Am reluctant to pay money to see if the full version is better. If it is still a bust I have just burned what ever money it cost. think I'll pass on this "pig in a poke."
There is not enough content for even a month. Year subscription was a huge mistake. Also would be nice if it stopped harassing me to invite my friends, if I already paid for it, it shouldn't bother me with their promos!
Best spanish learning app. They provide good explainations and example for each topic and lets you practice your newly learned topic/skill. A very good value for money online education app.
Rubbish, down loaded tried to purchase premium unable via cc or PayPal. Read website for solutions and tried them . Contacted support explained everything that had been tried and they sent me a link to web page, contacted support again still no use. Uninstalled will continue with duolingo. Only 1 star because you cant rate zero
The Busuu app seems to have lost the "weekly challenges" in the most recent update. This feature let you have free form exercises corrected by native speakers. It made Busuu stand out from others and without it, it's hard to say why it's better than anything else. Truly baffling why it was removed without a word.
