Now I have used this app for several months, it is becoming clear that it is great for beginners, but beyond that you don't really learn anything new. It has different levels of "difficulty", but advanced has exactly the same phrases and words as beginner or intermediate. Someone who has an intermediate level of Spanish, but wants to learn more, doesn't need to learn how to say "Buenas tardes", or "Nosotros tenemos una casa". Excellent for beginners in any language, but not very useful, after.
This is a hard one to review. Started working my way through the beginners sections and found the app to be really well made, really easy to use, and overall just really polished. There is a premium option, but I thought there is no point rushing to the end, I'll just work through one module, complete it and unlock the next one. However I have got to the point just after the first full module where now all the rest of the content seems to be behind the premium paywall.
Very good app, but.... I really like the app! The developers put a lot of thoughts into it. Intuitive, short sessions, good recap. BUT: no offline option. This is why I am downgrading the app. Developers should have considered that not everyone has Internet access all of the time. And not being able to use it when travelling is really a major deficit in my view. Ideal would be a full download, but limiting Downloads to 8 or 10hrs total (plane rides or similar) would still be OK. No offline content is NOT OK!
I have been using this application for learning for a very long time. I am a visual learner, and the pictures it shows help me pick up on words quickly compared to other Language courses. You can easily switch which language you are studying, and can even save your progress while switching from one to another. ita very easy to use and navigate, and for its price I LOVE it. I highly suggest this for anyone with spare time wanting to learn a language. it won't be an overnight, but it's worth.
If you're teaching people how to speak languages, what's the point of a premium. If you want to know a few simple phrases then this is for you but if you have to pay for a premium might as well try learning a language somewhere else. The audio is good with pronunciation when compared to other language apps. The methods of learning are great. Just too limited for an app that's suppose to teach you a whole language. Would recommend dropping the premium. It just wastes people's time otherwise.
Too many repetitions. It was interesting at first but after using it for some time, I notice that the vocabulary is often repeated . This may help me to remember the words I have learned but at the same time I feel that the vocabulary is not big enough. Also I think it would be more useful if more whole sentences are taught instead of just doing verb conjugation in the simple present tense.
This app is very similar in the Duolingo--except you have to pay. I do prefer the design of Mondly as it's more grown up looking but I'm not prepared to pay for a better looking interface when I can learn just as well using Duolingo for free. I fail to see how this app can compete when the ads on Duolingo are so unobtrusive. Also, the screen seems less responsive so I have to press things 2-3 times. Uninstalling, sadly.
Good App but I paid for a month subscription which is now over. However, despite having paid for the whole month of May, I can no longer access previous learning that I paid for - very disappointing! Also, at the time I was charged for a month's subscription following my one week trial, the monthly subscription offer was still on, yet, I was charged £9.99. It does not make sense to pay £9.99 for a month access and not be able to have access to what you paid for as soon as the subscription ended.
I like the format of the app, as it's similar to Duolingo with some extra features. But I find the app laggy and unresponsive, which makes me much less likely to do more than the minimum required. For a paid service, I find it unsatisfactory, as I get similar interaction from Duo for free.
Just discovered this app. Reviews seemed impressive. I am an intermediate/advanced language user, and want to develop better conversational dialogue and understand the spoken language fluently. I upgraded to premium/no ads so I could have more versatile training aids during my commutes and while on monotonous work assignments. Since this is my first mobile app for learning a foreign language, I think I've picked a very good one.**Thanks to everyone who provides reviews and feed back on apps👍🏼
Changed to two stars. No way to access my old info after I paid 60$ I switched phones and it logged me out now it says it dsnt recognize my email. Waste of money.
So i really like the app. Seems very effective in teaching conversational Spanish. What i do not like is after the first 7 2 minute lessons, you only get 1 lesson every 24 hours for free. If you choose not to purchase the premium then you really cant learn from this app unless you buy it. And I dont think its a one time purchase. I believe you have to pay a monthly fee for this app. I could see maybe making a one time puchase if u really want to learn Spanish. But not paying for it every month.
The best language practice app I've tried until now. Much better then Duolingo.
I don't like this app. It's very slow and there is no real organization to your learning. I've been using Duolingo which I personally find to be way more organized making it really easy to learn. I only tried this app because I'm looking for an additional app where i can practice my speaking skills. Unfortunately this wasn't what i was looking for. Also many of the words they teach are not different than what's taught in other apps that I've tried. Biggest no is 1 lesson a day isn't enough.
I installed the app a few days ago and signed up for 7 days free but it charged me for a month at the same time despite it saying that it was free. I sent them an email about it and I got was that they can't refund a subscription once it has started. They are rather frustrating to deal with as they only reply after 2 days each time and are just saying telling me the same thing.
Very aggravating. After completing lessons for over 100 days, the app does not give you credit for that day. Twice I have had a hundred and something day streak erased by this app, even though I completed the daily lesson. There appears to be no way to get my streak back. I thought the first time may have been a fluke but now that it has happened a second time, I am going to discontinue using the app.
Only 7 days trial before billing. edit to dev. It is misleading to say 7 days free trial yet keep the content locked!!! The free part is too limited to let me decide whether premium is worth it. I bet it stays locked once subscribed and only opens up over time slowly. btw re-That annoying loud BING with every correct answer ......is there any way to turn it off or down? (When I turn down the volume on my phone I can't hear the instructions.)
I got the upgraded version for $20. Its one time which is nice. I've had this app for years now. It goes to each phone and I love it. Whenever I need to start practicing a language it's my go too (until I randomly stop because habits are hard)
It's a good app with a wide range of languages to choose and learn from. Very innovative and easy to learn with. Too bad a year of subscription wouldn't unlock all, just one. Education is expensive after all. Keep it up mondly
I think this is a really great app to use to learn Spanish on the go. The app is very functional and user friendly with a nice setup. So far I can say my Spanish vocabulary has improved, and I can definitely say my conversational Spanish has as well. I have had the app for over a year, and have yet to find a better app. If you don't have the premium version I highly recommend it! Otherwise, you get the full experience this app has to offer, and therefore can't complain! Buena suerte!
I've been using the paid version for over 2 months now and have increased my vocabulary and understanding of grammar. For some reason, I can't stick with any Spanish programs but I do with this one. I haven't increased my ability to speak yet, but I can understand more for sure. I have experienced several "aha" moments and that's a good thing. I've been trying to speak Spanish forever (spent lot$$) and this app is helping me gain the confidence to move ahead. And yes, worth every $
They teach me a word and then use a different word (similar), without explaining and it messes me up. And what's the reason for it? Also teaches me a lot of words I'm not likely to use! Like all kinds of animals-not a priority! Just think it could have been better, although there are good things about it to. Overall, I'm disappointed. if I could, I'd
Has issues. Have been using different apps to learn Spanish and wanted a different experience. I enjoy Mondly but the voice recognition is not friendly. I think that voice recognition is important. I won't be continuing without the voice recognition fixed.
I usually don't leave reviews, but this app seriously impressed me. Concise and fun lessons, good and intuitive UI. Tapping words to get the translations and full declination tables for verbs is incredibly useful. The microphone option helps a bunch with pronunciation. Thanks for this great app!
I had to uninstall this app after only 2 days. It kept asking me to subscribe for the 1 month or 6 months or a year, whatever. I couldnt even try to learn for free because they were so annoying I'm already subscribing to a n excellent Spanish app and I dont mind paying 12.99 at all because I'm learning more than I ever expected with the other one I just wanted to see if I liked mondays teaching techniques but they kept interrupting my learning with the "buy me, buy me now!" screen Annoying!
Really good app. Although, sometimes when I do my daily lesson, it basically says you have to have premium to do it! Went off the app and gone back in it and done it without premium! Plus, when I completed my 7-Day challenge it gave me free premium but when I pressed it, it's said to make a payment method!
It's really good except I wish it was Mexican Spanish, not Spain Spanish lol. The audio is obviously a girl with a Spanish (not Mexican) accent. Also, for example it teaches you that car is coche, but it's carro if you're speaking Mexican Spanish. Other than that it's great, and if you're from Europe wanting to speak Spain Spanish, it's perfect..
