LeftTimes is a balanced news feed covering issues of politics, race, sex, gender, economy, environment and world news from a wide variety of perspectives across the left
LeftTimes aggregates articles from authors, blogs and publications from across the left, synthesizing them into one feed of 24 articles: the 6 top trending articles and 3 articles in each topic around politics, race, sex and gender, world, economy and environment - with extended feeds available for each topic.
We will only ever show you the top article from any given source, and we put small blogs on a level footing with more popular publications.
Our goal is to make it easy for news readers to discover and following some of the best and marginalized voices across the left. Rather than endlessly curating and browsing social media feeds, digging through lots of stuff to get to the good stuff, you can now get a single feed where every article is worth your time.
We are always adding new sources to our aggregator, tweaking our algorithms, and trying to discover the best up-and-coming writers. Sources we pull from include:

Fantastic idea but the app is really slow to load the main screen of stories and crashes a lot. Please fix it and I'd start using it every day.

How can I set up push notifications?
UPDATE: it's speed in much improved. It is now usable. Thank you. Earlier review: really want to like this app. I like the content, but both this app and the website are excruciatingly slow. Fix that and I'll increase my rating to 5 stars.

A nice aggregator of actual news... Easy to feel smarter after having read some of the articles... Not just entertained.
Very easy to navigate -- and to use to share articles with friends. It's also very small and fast, which of important if I'm thinking about what to add to my phone without slowing myself down.

I've been following the left times since it was doneleft and this is becoming a really cool app. I love that you now have topics and aggregate from so many great sources. Keep up the great work!
Great selection of articles. However, the app recently started cutting out and sending me to the mobile website every time. So, I can no longer select a tab, such as Economy, because the app does not stay open to reveal the tabs and the articles.
