The LegalSpeak-USA App is a tool for Lawyers, Law Students, Judges, Jurors, members of the Bar and the Bench of the judiciary and enthusiasts of law. This App facilitates the review of published 'Slip Opinions' of the US Supreme Court as well as 'Court Opinions' of the Courts of the various States in the union, in a faster and a more conducive manner. The App saves Lawyers and law personnel time, as well as reduces strain on the eyes by having documents read out to the user rather than spending hours reading. Thus, the user does not have to be at the desk all the time but may even review cases while for example, jogging, taking nature walks in the park, exercising at the gym, sipping coffee at the coffee shop or even still in pajamas at home, . In general, the LegalSpeak-USA App adds value to published law materials making them more adaptable to modern technology as well as contributing to sustained health for practitioners of law in the USA, in particular and the world at large. Basically, this App facilitates and cuts down on time required to site and quote court case precedence. The LegalSpeak-USA App integrates text-to-speech translation as well as customized search components thereby, making the use of these vital law documents easier and more adaptable to everyday living. The user starts the App either by (i) searching by any keyword(s) (for example, name(s) of petitioner / respondent, lawyer or judge) of any court case he or she may wish to research or (ii) using the App menu for specific document(s) given that he or she knows both the month and year when the Opinion was published.Having identified a document of interest, a tap on the link presents a dialog box from which the user can choose either, to view and read the document or to have the document read out. The 'Back Arrow' button facilitates navigation between different components of the system while the 'Back to Top' link facilitates document reading while other appropriate buttons facilitate receipt of improved audio quality. The vision of the LegalSpeak-USA App is to cover all published, with effect from September 2011, Slip and Court Opinions for all the States of the USA. This maiden version of the LegalSpeak-USA App, contains US Supreme Court Slip Opinions for the period September 2011 to July 2014 and Maryland Court Opinions for the period January 2013 to March 2014. More materials are being added on continuous bases and updates, reflecting these additions, will be available for user to download periodically.
