This is the most mixed review I could possibly make. I am a big fan of the Legendary deck building game in its physical version. That one is mostly Marvel, but it branched off into all sorts of other licenses, too. This app is a good chunk of the base game plus a little more, with everything re-skinned to be a generic fantasy theme. That's fine, licensing agreements can make things really rocky, so keeping it to a generic theme helps you keep it going forever. When the base content includes Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man, and Dr. Doom, from BEFORE the big acquisition, that would certainly make things difficult. To what the game actually is, I would say this is one of the best *systems* for a deck building game. It's immensely customizable. A random mastermind is trying to accomplish a random scheme, with random villains stomping through the city, and you recruit the skills of 5 random heroes to stop them (or all the randomness can be picked, which I usually do). Stars are used to recruit new heroes, claws used to punch stuff, punch the Mastermind 4 times to win. Cool, neat. It's a fun game to play, admittedly a bit diminished by the now generic fantasy theme, but I really enjoy playing it. For as fun as the game is though, there's a lot of problems. This game is SUPER glitchy! It's so glitchy, it has a "force refresh" option to quickly reboot things. That's a really bad look. Some scenarios can't even be saved by that! The campaigns are also effectively a puzzle with heavy RNG, so even if you've figured out the ideal strategy, you could just end up not allowed to win. I've lost to RNG far more times than I've won in the single-player campaigns. I don't recommend them. The theming is also pretty bad. Most of the villain groups are just one enemy, and the cards represent different aspects of that enemy. They don't feel like villains rampaging through the city, so when one escapes, I feel very little is lost. It doesn't feel like I'm really accomplishing as much when I'm effectively just "wounding" a villain instead of totally beating them. The henchmen are all just 10 copies of the same generic mini-villain, so they work out fine. However, the overall game is workable. For being a FTP game, it ain't terrible. Ok, the "force restart" is annoying, but it's still a way to play Legendary with your friends. That function on its own makes this worth a try. Just stay away from the single-player campaigns and you'll be fine. Content is still rather light as of this writing, but that's coming from someone who owns all the Marvel content in the physical game. I'm sure there's some shock factor involved in coming down to such a smaller variety. There's enough here to make each game at least interesting, so while I have reservations, this game is still a decent pick-up. ^^^ The above was mostly taken from my Steam review. Since that writing, this game has introduced epic masterminds. Most of the time in the physical game, epic masterminds are just so ridiculously overwhelming that I have trouble imagining any scenario that could beat them, but here, we finally have epic versions of the basic masterminds. I am extremely upset that you are forced to purchase that with real money. It's the only object that can't be purchased with in-game currency. It does not indicate health for the game (get the thing to stop glitching and maybe I'll support it). If nothing else, it gives you a basis for transferring those effects into the physical game. I appreciate that much.

I've never played the board game and new to the deck building genre but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it lol... I've ran into a few bugs but hasn't ruined the game play (as far as I can tell, still learning so unsure)... I'm not sure if I'm missing something but feels like there should be more of a selection of villians, rather small decks you play with while in a match... and would love to see some more animations, sounds and events... As well as restocking the store/market....:)

I'm having a great time playing Legendary. My only negatives are that the Starter pack doesn't seem to offer much and I don't understand the online requirement for Solo play. It can really interrupt a game when I'm in an area with an unreliable connection. Otherwise a great option when I dont have time to set up the physical game.

Just like the tabletop game but with different name and drawings, only draw back is the energy, no timer on it so you never know if it's regenerated enough to use, also only having a maximum of 6 energy (atleast from level 1 to 11 so far) isn't good. Would like gan makers to add timer and have it atleast 10 energy so I can play a good 3 to 5 games before waiting for more energy. Other than that, a great game

The regular Legendary game lets you chose what heroes you play with. This games doesn't give you a choice. Minus 2 stars. The only way you can get ahead in the game is to 'pay to play'. Minus 2 stars. I really like the game, but with these screw-ups, the game loses uts fun really quickly. Perhaps when these problems are fixed, then I will re-install this game.

I haven't been playing for very long, but I love deck-builders, and this seemed like a great one with a great deal of strategy required. I purchased the expansions and am glad that I did. Definitely look into this card game if deck-builders are your thing. This is not just yet another basic one with barely any thought required. I hope they keep updating this game! I look forward to learning the strategies necessary to become a successful player.

The game is a lot of fun to play. Problem is you don't get to play often. It has a energy based play system that gives you little energy, has large energy costs, and high recharge time. I understand most games have something to get you to buy things, but this system just makes me go play some other game till I feel like playing again!

Great game, I have a physical copy of the game and the worst part is rearranging everytime, this fixes that problem, the only thing I'll will add is make gauntlet free of energy so more people play, everyone plays co-op as gauntlet, also if you play with friends whoever hosts goes 1st everytime they should fix that. Other than that great strategy game.

Legendary is one of my favorite real life board games, and what very little I got to play of this version was spot on. That being said, I have fast internet and pretty good mobile service, but 80% of the time I try playing this game, it says I have "low connection" and won't let me play, even the single player campaign. This would be five stars for sure if it would just let me play, but instead, I'm deleting until I hear this problem is fixed.

Decent Game. Shady In App Purchases The game play is pretty good. It follows the physical game and is good for learning the game and playing different strategies. I purchased the $4.99 pack so that you can play without waiting for energy. However, after the first 4 levels they bring the energy back, even with this purchase. Seems shady to me.

It's a replica of Marvel Legendary with new heroes and villains to avoid the complication with loyalty. It stay true to board game, so if you were curious about the Legendary, or always hated setting up for a round, I recommend downloading it. Dev seems to be working on it's 3rd expansion, so this is good time to start playing.

Ken. L. Sep 14, 2021

Its fun but it has problems. 1. There needs to be a card viewer. Theres no way to view cards you own OR the expansions before you buy. 2. Too expensive, it really should be $9.99 for the full game with all the expansions at this point. Future expansions can cost extra. 3. No one else is playing, have fun playing solo.

Fun game when it works. I play the table top version all the time. Wish the app would work right. I once couldn't play the game for months if not a year because the game would not load correctly on a Samsung 8. Now it loads and just crashes occasionally.

Kei. S. Jan 31, 2019

I REALLY want to play this game as I love the physical game! But it won't load. After I register it just stays on the loading screen with the rotating loading circle and it says "connecting" but never goes anywhere. Really hope this gets fixed as I'm eager to play.

Fra. G. Sep 14, 2021

Looks like fun but the app keeps freezing when I go to play cards and I have to force quit the app or lose my progress. Edit: still happening every time I play a card that makes me choose a card to discard (eg. Disaray the Sufferer's cheap cards - it stops responding when I try to choose a card to discard unless I force refresh)

Game disconnects constantly. On android tablet, on android smartphone and on my Windows 10 desktop computer. Very often loses sync, making it reconnect by itself, or forces you to reconnect. This often even happens multiple times per game.

Eli. D. Jan 21, 2020

The game is great, my problem is that I was double charged for the "starter pack" that removes the energy requirements to play, and the support team has not answered regarding the issue. Easy 4 stars once that's dealt with.

Rob. S. Dec 25, 2018

"Could Not Connect" ... that is the error I keep getting after my first time playing the game. I simply cannot connect to my account again. Okay game and adaptation of a proven system, but these bugs make it unplayable.

Wes. S. Mar 4, 2020

Glitchy and impossible to play. Takes me straight into a game when I boot it up. No heroes in the guild hall to purchase and I keep getting desync errors. Upon exiting the game via the menu and trying to start the campaign, I get thrown into the game in the same situation - I can't play the game as I can't buy any new heroes. If I play with the generic deck, eventually I get to a scheme twist which tells me to KO a hero from the Guild Hall, which I can't. Edit: Works on my tablet, not my Note 10

Horrible app. Every time I would try to start a game, it wouldn't let me. It would just stay stuck in the set up page. Now it won't even let me log in. Says my password is incorrect. I've reset it several times and it still won't let me log in. Terrible app. Already uninstalled.

Ale. R. Oct 1, 2020

This CAN scratch the itch to play Legendary that you may have. It isn't as fun as if could be. The cards are difficult to figure out, sure. They are no Marvel. Its is fun tho once you get if figured out. The bad thing is the game is heavily monitized. I would rather pay for a good Legendary game then play with all these cash grabs: challenges that give 2 coins. Chests that you can only feasibly buy with real money. Energy that drains when you play to stop the grind, and a pay wall to go around.

Kev. B. Dec 7, 2019

Game seems very buggy. I have 8 recruit but cannot recruit cards that have 8 recruit. I get "not enough recruit" error. Other times game freezes and needs to be restarted. Another bug, card states "you may KO a hero from hand or discard pile, if you do you may gain a mayor shufflebottom to you hand" no mayor shufflebottom gained.

Div. b. Z. Feb 3, 2019

Managed to play tutorial only. Campaign map just has a loading icon. Training mode never loads. Tried restarting the app, stuck on connecting. Propably their servers are down. Makes no sense that I cannot play single player like ALL the other deckbuilder let you.

Sha. N. Jun 16, 2020

It would be a lot of fun if it wasnt so buggy. I was one click away from finishing a level with full stars (took half an hour), then out of nowhere it kicked me out and I lost all my progress on the game.

A. G. u. Aug 29, 2021

Was fun and progress was slow unless you pay, which I didn't do, and then one day must have been an update and my campaign progress was reset to zero, so that's it, I'm done with this game, not spending all that time again waiting for my gauge to refill to play

Jim. S. Oct 25, 2019

This game is just a touch playable. The other part of it is inoperable. If it was slow, this is something amendable, but it crashes and kicks you out of online games. When I say I can't play this; what I want mean is that I am unable to play this online.

Rac. E. Mar 11, 2019

so... update on 5th Feb... Get into game. Attempt to play training mission. Game shuts down. Clear app storage and try again. Same result. If I didn't enjoy the game so much I'd have given up on it by now. So much for the latest update fixing it. 11th March:still broken. Game closes whenever I try and play a game.

Ale. d. Jun 18, 2021

The flow of the tutorial is so bad. And I'm not talking about the lips of the kind lady. It was so frustrating trying to do something but having to read stuff that I didn't want to read. For the 7 cards I kind of play, It didn't feel good. The feedback are not interesting. Maybe the game is good, but the first 30 seconds were boring and way to long. Have a nice day
