The game's art is beautifully made, love the sound, love the colorful characters and setting. That being said, the gameplay mechanics are rather obscure compared to other games here at the playstore, a player needs to grasp certain concepts and terms to get the hang of it, and the initial campaign doesnt do a good job guiding the players in that respect. I beat the first dozen of battles with hardly a clue of what's going on, at this point still I dont know what's going on.
The game is easy to grasp the basics but rewards critical thinking and general game sense. The Free-to-play economy is one of the most generous and rewarding in any game I've seen so far. It's fun, there's enough valid play styles and the meta is shifting pretty frequently so it do don't get stale for long. All around a great experience.
It's an amazing game. The fact that it's an online game only, they can do a lot of interesting things that other games like mtg can't. The single player campaign is enormous, if you just want to play the A.I. you play for months without repetition. Each playthrough your deck is different. There's also multi-player and tournaments, drafts, etc. Very free to play friendly as well. Highly recommended.
I really liked this game before the Path of Champions 2.0 update. The original PoC was great, it had fun story lines with voiced characters. Now it's just lackluster and all my progress was wiped. I got so far on Vi and now I can't even play with her because she's locked. Don't returning players get some sort of compensation for all the time we sank in the game just to have our progress taken away? I'm honestly just shocked and confused. Who green-lit this change?
Most of the time, upon opening the game, there would be an error message displaying "connection error" even though my internet connection is fine and then it restarts the client multiple times with the same result with just different codes relating to "connection error". The game is fun on PC as this problem occurs less, but on mobile it is exhausting to even get to play the game.
The new update forces you to play path of champions... couldn't find an exit screen anywhere. I don't understand why they're pushing so heavily on PvE. There's a very good and obvious reason that the vast majority of player-created content for this game features player vs. player interaction. This is a five star game with a very irritating implementation in the most recent update, hence the loss of score.
Great but they removed Expeditions and the Path of Champions is way too grindy. I miss the more rogue-like nature of the old AI Lab experiment. There are also a few minor UI bugs and clutter that mobile isn't great for in comparison to the PC build. But those are relatively minor. Just wish they'd bring back and/or improve the stuff they've removed.
The free rewards enable you to build good decks without the need to spend. The themes are interesting, and you can get creative with deck builds. The labs are fun, though different than when I started playing. PvP can be frustrating, there's players who just sit there almost their whole turn. The labs have good stories, but I wish I could skip the cutscenes I've already seen. An all around fun game.
I played this game when it first dropped and it was pretty much trash, it seemed like if you put money into it you got the wins, so I quit. Decided to try again almost a year later and it has improved substancialy, the strategy is challenging and fun to master. Tons of deck options and endless combinations and customizations for any player to have fun.
Come for the game, stay for the characters and the world of Runeterra. It really feels like a world that's lived in. I would say that I would want to see the personal adventures for characters outside of pullover/zaun and get to know their stories. The game is easy to learn but a challenge to master, and the free to play is great for this game.
Hey devs the animations are dope but don't go too overboard. I was an advocate for how amazing they were and then there was more lol. I wonder if u read. The thing is they do take time away from actual gameplay and sometimes (especially on slower devices), the UI will stop working for a moment and everything will freeze before the game can catch up with itself. So know this. Maybe u can do a lite mode lol. Everyone should play this tho if ur reading. 5 stars. ...... BRING BACK LABS !!!!!
I've been playing the game on my PC and on my phone. It is a really fun game that has a ton of variety and tactics when it comes to its cards and game modes. I do not see myself getting bored of this game anytime soon. Btw, it is really well-optimized for mobile, so good job Riot. Another addicting game, as if League of Legends wasn't enough. EDIT: Two years later and I still love the game. Balance patches, new game modes, and events keep the game fresh and exciting.
I didnt like this game at first. I didn't understand the turn system and the tutorials didn't help. A lot of it for me was trial and error. But once you start to get how to play then the game becomes much more fun. :) Keep trying even if you're discouraged. There's at least one game mode you'll like which will make you eventually branch out into the other game modes which will make you addicted.
Great and annoyed Been playing for a while and with recent update of the client, the game is forcing me to play path of champions tutorial when I don't want to. I don't like PVE. When this get fixed. I'll adjust the rating. Otherwise the game is incredible.
Overall, Legends or Runterra is an amazing game. The lore, The gameplay, The voice lines, It's perfect. There's just one slight problem. If you experience an error while in a match, You get signed out and the game closes and you wont be able to log back in. Other than that slight issue it's an all around good game.
Gameplay is interactive, doesn't feel unfair/cheap if you lose. Deck building is intuitive. Balance updates and new champs keep the game fresh. Most of all, the reward system is satisfying. It's actually free-to-play not pay-to-win. I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to play a TCG for fun instead of completing pointless quests for very little reward. Highly recommend. Over a year in. Full collection. Still very impressed
Great game. Nevertheless, I found a big bug, playing with a Galaxy. when swapping among apps, while playing Vi's walk-through it failed to reconnect, restarting the app & getting looped into that, over and over. It didn't get fixed removing the cache, requiring all data removal from the storage. Big disappointment.
Buggy. Can't exit adventure mode. Half the menu buttons don't show up. Game crashes constantly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and that doesn't fix the issue. Game looks fun but I can't play it.
Definitely one of the best card games I've played, especially for being cross platform! Its easy to learn.great for sharing with a friend or 2. Its incredible and has such a diverse meta. It's so much fun while remaining convenient as well as keeping all of the cards easily accessible
Great game! Challenging and seemingly well balanced, their are many winning strategies. Just when you think your strategy is king, another person show an impressive counter strategy. From the sting of getting soundly thrashed to the euphoria of flawlessly executing your strategy to victory, this game has it all. Maybe make it possible to win the premium currency through events or tournament but it's not necessary to play. Edit: they just took away expeditions. I will probably not play anymore.
It's a fun game and I love it but it would be great if the special event stickers would still be available in the store afterwards at some point. So that if you didn't play the game before a certain event, you still don't miss out on the cool sticker of your favorite champion. Please consider it riot=)
I love the game, I've played daily for months. My only issue(today is a prime example) is that there are so many bugs. I updated today and now I can't play bc login queue is full. I was mid match. It's aggravation at its best.
Something must be done to player who purposely never hit round end button and make opponent wait. Other than that... It's a great game. Edit: infinite loading with text "checking for update" fix this fast!
Excellent game. I came to this game as a fan of card games and riot properties, and this is no let down. The game is the most f2p friendly card game I've ever seen. Interaction is serious and competitive. Edit: still playing a year later, things I wrote before have changed but what remains above has not, and that still makes it stand far above the competition, digital or paper.
Like a step between MTG and Hearthstone. It's new pre-built deck mode is very fun. It seems like you can earn a good deck with not too much grind (a month or 2). Legacy format so rotation isn't a problem but often decks are over-balanced and fall out of the meta. Some glitches but overall stable.
Third review after playing a year. The game has really pushed me to the limit. The learning curve was steep as a beginner but always entertaining. I finally achieved master rank and I still have to discover the competitive side of the game outside of the ladder. The art, the lore, the reactive nature of the gameplay and the rewards... Great job Riot!
