LEGO® POWERED UP

Combine this app with the LEGO DC Super Heroes App-Controlled Batmobile (76112), the LEGO City Cargo Train (60198), or the LEGO City Passenger Train (60197) (each sold separately) to operate the motorized engines via Bluetooth controls, or use your imagination and build entirely new creations using LEGO Powered Up components and bring them to life by coding them. Make your models move and respond to real-world events.

The LEGO Powered Up app puts you in the driver’s seat of the awesome 4-wheel-drive Batmobile to speed through the streets of GOTHAM CITY™. Drive forwards, backwards, left and right… or pull 360-degree turns! You can even activate cool tricks and stunts as you become the Dark Knight and fight crime. You can customize and code your Batmobile tricks and choose your sounds and movements – pretty awesome!

The LEGO Powered Up app also controls LEGO trains to haul goods or pick up passengers around LEGO City. You can control the speed, change directions, and bring even more life to your play with various sounds such as a whistle, passenger announcement, railroad crossing bell, and more! The Bluetooth remote control app and the remote control handset included in the LEGO City train sets aren’t compatible with older infrared remote-controlled LEGO train sets.

Thanks to Powered Up components like hubs, motors, sensors, and lights you will be able to bring your customized creations to life. You can also bring your existing LEGO models to life.

works for on my old tablet, but my pixel 3 doesn't function correctly. Thank you for the reply. The app does download and technically is does connect. The issue is the left/right motor controls appear to have a glitch in the programming. After using it on both the tablet and phone, they both lose control of the motors. The forward/reverse functions don't work consistently. I suspect it's a bug in the programming. I wish we could edit the motor controls instead of just the three special buttons. That way I could trouble shoot your setup.

Edit: Lego's response here show's how little they understand the problem. Let the user decide when they want the dumb "smart" hub to stop. I run trains at home and at conventions and expos. Can't do either with a phone that has to constantly stay on to be connected. Doesn't show up in my list of installed apps even when I type in Lego. But, that's not the bad part. IF you can get it to connect with the train, good luck using the app. Soon as you turn off the screen, switch to a different app, have a screen saver kick in, it tells the train to stop. How utterly dumb. I'm not going to leave my cell phone running the entire time i have the train going. Just plain stupid. If you're going to insist on that being a function, have it one you can turn off.😡

Despite the fact that I still really don't like to be forced to use a phone in combination with Lego, I really see a lot potential and possibilities with the coding in the app. The issue I'm facing from time to time, is that the calibration of steering is buggy. It doesn't go to center afterwards. BTW, how about providing more info what bugs have been fixed???

The sounds are horrible. I meant not that I didn't like the sounds, but that the sounds are a lot of white noise instead of the actual sound it's supposed to make. In proces. But I want to add lights to my 4 trains and that would be another investment, but just saw that in the app all the train controls only have one motor control, and no way to add one. I would like the normal controls to be more customiseable or the customisation to have controls that stay at the position you put them in.

I tested out this app this morning with the Disney Train and Station set. I had problems getting my train to start and my stomach just sank after all that work. After making sure there were 6 AAA batteries inside (3 on each side). And resetting the app, you should see the hub flash different colors and the Bluetooth connection screen go from 0 to 100% and it worked! I almost gave up there should be a video made on how to set it up correctly. It works, but it could be more intuitive.

It's great when it works. Hey not sure if other people have experienced massive bugs but the One plus Update happened and the Powered up is Virtually unusable now. It's not loading and I've downloaded and installed numuorus times as well as restarted my device. The cute Disney overlays for the Disneyland train set are great. It just would be better if I could actually have the app load again. It worked a few weeks ago . But it's always had problems with the one plus Android software.

App works fine and connects fast. Its a lot of fun building controls for your Lego creations. My son and I built a speed racer and it worked great. Few improvement ideas for future versions: - in app pop up help of what the different modules are. Currently it's a bit of guess work. - more variety (sizes) of input devices, such as sliders, dials, levers, buttons, joysticks. There are a lot of options for color, but not so much variation for functionality. Cant wait for future updates! Thanks

I downloaded this to work with one of my new Lego sets. It's fast! But I don't love it because 1) Bluetooth receiver; only links to the app, so you can't access it over a wireless network 2) app not available for Windows 3) Interface is simple but has no tutorial or detailed help, and nothing came with the Lego set either. 4)app refuses to run in the background. If my screen goes dark or I switch to another app (to, say, take a video) the programmed routine stops. Not a permissions issue.

Good but weird permissions. App is much better than using the remote since you can see what speed setting its using but I don't understand the need for GPS and/or media storage access. The sounds are built into the app so why is media access needed. The GPS part I just flat out don't understand. App won't link up if both aren't turned on/allowed.

I got this for the haunted mansion set. The power function was on backorder for months. The set works fine manually but with the app (after trouble shooting/watching YouTube videos) it only sometimes works, is very noisy, doesn't catch the chain well, and it doesn't bring the car up all the way to the top most of the time. It's not intuitive at all to use and is not helped by the fact that pushing the buttons only sometimes does anything, and sometimes does nothing. Not ready for prime time.

The batmobile was cool to build, but once we connected the app we were very disappointed. Controls work for the first few minutes, but then the app seems to get messed up and often one motor gets stuck or won't send commands. We have to disconnect and reconnect to get it going again. Obviously no one tested this beyond basic startup use.

A fantastic app for coding the Boost AND train hub. It is easy to operate and pairs to the Move hub, controller and Train hub. I would like to see more support for the handset like setting modes. E.G. on/off or speed control. Also, LEGO, is there an adapter for the connector or is it something else. Please fix a bug I found. The bug is that sometimes it will not open the connection menu. Please fix this!

I know I'm tardy to the party but I got the remote control batmobile however long ago when it came out, but never really tried out the app. The app seems pretty well made and it's nice to see that Lego is implementing features like this in some of their sets. Now, the things I don't like: 1. The way the batmobile set connects to the app doesn't make much sense and doesn't work very well. 2. The motors on the actual set are very weak at best and at worst just don't work at all.

Works well. But it would be nice to have additional sets supported as well. I installed the hub and battery box from the Passenger train into my Creator Winter Holiday Train and I have to press minus to drive forward :( I also bought the LED light from my local LEGO store. There is no way to turn it on or off via Bluetooth. It turns on automatically when the train starts.

Batmobile kit #76112 is a nice build, and the app looks like it'll be fun (programmable movements, sound effects, etc) but the left channel glitches on my Galaxy S9+ and becomes unresponsive after a few moments. requires app and pairing restart, which takes as long as the play time goes. "Minutes of fun" and until the app is fixed, the minutes are over. Disappointment on Christmas Day - good job, Lego. Edit: App date Dec 12, 2018. I installed Dec 25.

Pixel 2 XL, All default permissions are allowed. App does not explicitly request Bluetooth permission, but tells you it is required (obviously). No way to enable this permission, and so no way to connect to the hub. Uninstall, reinstall did not help. Manual connection through the Bluetooth menu did not help. Confirmed: "no permissions denied" Official compatible devices does not shed any light either as 'Google Pixel C' is not a phone that exists. Tried with iPhone instead, no problems.

Great app, took no time to set up and my five year old can understand and use the interface. Totally worth it. Have been able to run the app from several phones and tablets of differing operating systems and years. Would recommend to anyone running a simple Lego train layout. Can't wait for more features and things to come out with this line. Thanks Lego for introducing the world of trains to my child.

As everyone here says: Attrocious! Batmobile controls do work for a random time between 1 and 5 seconds. After that one slider will stick and its impossible to control the car anymore. Clearly an app bug as programmed sequences work just fine. How can Lego, such a worldwide and reputable company release such a piece of garbage? Do they not do any testing whatsoever? (tried on 2 android phones, same behavior) Thoroughly dissapointing.

Jus. S. Oct 31, 2019

Got this with the Batmobile. Very cool app with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, aside from the preinstalled controls, the Boost style programming part of the app does not work. It works immediately after an install, then no longer. Both custom programs and preinstalled macros do not function. Galaxy S8.

Sam. H. May 12, 2021

The app is great and all, but the issues I have with it is the Bluetooth connection is terrible and it disconnects every 30 seconds. And you can't have the Battery Box at full power for at least a minute or it will die. Honestly you should have just stayed with Power Functions, that actually held it's power.

used to work great now freezes on all devices. both cheap android tablet and samsung S20+. App gets to yellow splash screen and thats it. tried resets, checked for updates, nothing. gonna try uninstall and reinstall next. more stars once its working again

Not ideal for lego trains. The app by design will stop the train when you leave it, open another app or your phone goes into sleep/standby. I want to leave the train running, it is not practical to leave my phone on. The older IR remotes are superior in this regard, shame they are being phased out for a system with less features.

Worked seamlessly for the piano (21323)... However. It's irritating that the sheet music for "play mode" doesn't match the actual songs. Even if the piano will play the next note regardless, let me pretend. :) Also, I'd like the app to be able to play in the background so I can take a video of the piano on my phone while it's playing.
