Leia: Free Website Builder

Concept is great, but it could be executed better. I was investigating this tool for rapid prototyping and with some tweaks it could be great for that purpose. UX is fairly clunky. Would be great if you could more easily redesign select features more intuitively, for instance through clicking on the feature and clicking Redesign, rather than have to navigate through the less than UX friendly menu. Great interface and beautiful looking website design results. It asked questions, I answered and it built a cool layout accordingly. However, it's a bit too glitchy to actually use. If I can't make a simple edit to insert my desired text into the template Leia provided then what's the point. No "paste" ability means you type a paragraph or two and if something goes wrong (and it will), you're typing all of that all over again. Maybe even more than once. If it weren't for that I'd say this app is 5 star when it comes to design and grace

**Update, now that I'm no longer emotionally distraught, I've concluded that this is so far a very valuable and useful app. Save your work frequently so you don't have to start over. Caution: when you're tapping your back-button to navigate back to the previous pages, be careful because if you're not familiar with it's layout (like me) you may overlook the fact you're already backed out to the main page, and feel the need to hit the back-button once more to make sure you can't back out farther to confirm that it's the actual home page. Instead it that extra tap will send exit the app, and if you haven't saved your work recently, well, you do the math.

Really like the interface. Two things are just junk. I've been looking for about a week or so, and cannot find what the price(s) are. Sign up and cancel is just gimicki. But the app is faster than Wix for sure so that's good. Cannot edit html with a upgraded subscription. Yuk, so I create code and you assume ownership. No And on my tablet, every time I verify to edit some content, I have to reset the option so it renders correct. Google anyl.?? And often disregards edit conformation.

the apps not bad, but had a lot of glitches, that i have since found depends on the browser or platform you are using to edit your web site. the team still don't respond at all and emails sent don't show up. But the builder using a good browser is really good, and easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to build a site who have little experience. Very helpful tutorial videos

So far so good. I gave a 4, simply because I haven't been using it long. However, it rates a 5, if things keep going the way they are. The site looks fantastic, it works well. I just upgraded to the .99/month plan, so i can mess around with that. Even the "expensive" one is $3.99/month. I'm broke, and even I can afford that. Definitly an option, if you're looking for an inexpensive website host, while getting your project off the ground. In my case, a YouTube channel (Not under this name)

Very slow and hard to navigate. Too many popups to buy it. I barely was able to use it and every minute there was another pop up, so that was an immediate turn off. How can I see if I like it with all those popups?? Too complicated, too much info going on. Distracting. GUI w/iPhone is unnecessary and it makes things unreliable. There are many diff screen sizes, & this doesn't adjust for that. Can't trust to put in all the work only to have the site look funky on a PC 21:9 or a 4 to 6", screen

looks good so far. Edit 4 /5 /2019 Managed to make a website with it, I do like the concept, Computers are supposed to make our lives easier, you shouldnt need to be a tech guru to put a website together. I built the site on my mobile which looked goid, but when I viewed on my desktop, the font was way too large, Just a minor problem, I'll have to play with the fonts. So far, pretty impressive, once you get used to it.

The app is excellent but not without some bugs or missing tool. Why all the pages are listed on home page so you have to keep scrolling on? I expected one page should only be read or display on the homepage, with the abilities to add some code link to other pages one after the other except the tab or menu button. Can't upload my own logo, and the booking and shopping button keep going off the home page. Though I was pleased with this app, but would be more pleasant to add in more sweet tool and nicer PLUMBING TEMPLATES for such plumbing site. All I could see is a bunch of background pictures nothing else, nor templates as expected. Come on sweetheart, you got to do something quality. You really wanna trap some bait for a beginner like me before I could invest on such pro. I'm angry!

This was one of the more versatile apps I have used, however, my problem lies with the lack of intuitiveness when it comes to editing texts. Having to hold press each area I wish to edit is more than tedious, I was trying to work with it, but I can't seem to handle it's complicated operations.

At the end of the process, there is an error while building the site, saying "try later". I couldn't signed up neither with Facebook or Google. While trying to register with my email account, there ia an error on the "full name" and I can't continue with the registration. I've also tried it in different devices. Could you help me on this?

The good thing about LEIA is that it's FREE. But they've put up so many "requires LEIA PRO/LEIA BUSINESS" button which limits maximum criterias to built a genuine looking site. One thing I don't like about this application is that the App's procedure is too slow, you can't double tap anything while waiting for another pop up to edit value or edit size. The worst thing about LEIA is you can't reposition the text or any script. Even if you buy Pro/business version. Need quick upgrade. Flexibility.

Upon installing this app I found that it was easier to create an interactive website than anything I've ever used before. I am astounded at the amount of work that it takes in design temp. and coding to make this happen. Only minor setbacks I see to this wonderful idea 1.) Backing up of website data as my websites are now gone. 2.) Lack of alternative methods to login since phone freezes upon site creation. 3.) Billing integration with google play acct so account payment data is not lost.

I have a hard time with the fact that ALL photos MUST be a JPG or JPEG format in order to be used. Other than that, this app is extremely easy to use and works perfectly for all that I need a website for! (UPDATE 4/18/2020) I have deleted all 4 of my sites due to several technical difficulties with no response from anyone. Also, I have tried several file types on my websites and to no avail. And since no one seems to care or want to help their customers, I chosen another provider. Good day.

Leia showed such an accurate creation of the preferences I asked for. The websites inspire me to keep a project going, that is the sharing of content with a larger audience. I am happy with the results! The only room for improvement would be that the app is faster when opening the work page so the website is instantly available for me to edit quicker.

I freakin' love Leia and the people behind the A.I., the customer service is wonderful and the sites are perfect for what I need. I only wish upgrading was a bit easier. Going from Pro to Business, I want the features I don't have for the site I've already created & I don't want to pay twice for a site and features I already have. The prices are fair & offer lots, but they can add up to a high amount while wasting money. If you decide to go Pro or a domain, just go straight to Business.

over all it does what it says. it allows you to create a website that looks if not great, at least good. The problem comes when trying to edit text. Every time it zooms into the point you can only see half a word at a time. Not a deal breaker but enough to make it loose a few stars.

Good app, although error messages of interference occur when trying to edit site in the back office, also SSL errors indicated, though upgrades are continuously being applied to app, so this may be the reason for the above? Overall features are simple and easy to use. You may need to contact Leia direct to report problems if they persist.

its an excellent website builder. it's easy to use and the automated design is excellent. i tried developing by typing, it failed all the times. but when i tried to develop by speech it worked perfectly. the exception handlers of the project need to recode so that when leia is telling us, " oh error ocured," someone should know what the error is. example when i tried to create a website by typing, it showed "oh error" without a followup messeage directing me to the speech module. Just designed my first website with this app. It's easy to use and has some awesome stuffs. There's one 'but' though: It takes too long for the app to load and execute command. If the issue of speed could be addressed, I'd upgrade and also give a better ratings.

I can't get into my website to do anything! It just spins like it's loading. I have contacted support but they say it's fine on their end. I've tried multiple times and nothing. Cleared cache. Uninstalled then reinstalled. It's just flat out not working! I've tried daily for two weeks!

I started off liking my new website with this app; however, there are a lot of serious issues with this app! First, it is very difficult to type anything at all because the curser never goes what you clicked on for it to go. Secondly, I had to type what I wanted in my notes section and copy and paste it on this app! Theres nowhere to save what you update. I have copied and pasted repeatedly because my update would be gone when I got back on the app! By pass this app!

i LOVE this. but the mobile version is the most frustrating thing i have ever come across. if you scroll ot bounces to the top, every click takes 10-15 seconds, the pictures are blury, its slow, laggy and it just doesn't work properly. im abiut to try the desktop version. i love this app but it makes me so angry

If you are a small business owner and want a website that looks pro but have no dough, this is the app for you. Amazing websites that are too easy. Great layout, all custom, dirt cheap, zero technical ability required. If you can send a text, you can build an incredible website for a small business on this app. Great that it now supports stores selling product online too.

Not very good I paid for the year pro trial but It got cancelled by mistake! not very good as the Website is on my business cards and everywhere but couldn't edit it properly.. Looking at the reviews I'm not the only one that's had there money taken and not got what they paid for! They have rectified my account back to pro after I had to send proof I actually paid but I probably will be looking at a different provider when it runs out.

After non-existent customer support when first signing up and trying to upgrade, I started threatening to refund my purchase and finally started getting support. The support was terrible and after a few weeks, they finally at least helped me get my initial site up and functioning. After all the trouble, they offered to give me the site free for the year (39.99 value). I figured this would be a good value although I'm finding out the user interface is not an easy, non-time consuming one. Now recently, I received a notice through google that Leia's RENEWAL price for my site has increased to $79 for the year even though they've done nothing more, no added benefits, nothing. I definitely wouldn't recommend this site unless you're good with the free site template.

Really great. Easy to use and gives you many options. My only problem was the typing. it was constantly writing over my word before I even finished writing. Backspace was super slow. but that aside, still a great app!

Easy to use, great features, and amazing customer service at reasonable pricing. There were frusterations while the bugs were being worked out, but it was well worth the wait. I look forward to experiencing what the Leia Team comes up with next.

Really good for the app does. All you need to do is answer a few questions and the AI makes you a pretty good looking website that you can customize. To add things like a pay pal button and get rid of the Leia ad and stuff you need to upgrade to Leia Pro. Personally I think things like PayPal buttons should be included for free but Leia Pro is only about $10 a year. That's a good deal. I mean I'm not buying Leia Pro but that's still a good deal. So 5 stars because the app makes good websites.

Simple to use with a tutorial walk through as you set things up. The layout looks great and has extended features to customise your mock up templates to your preference. Looks great on my phone! I still have get to see it function on a pc as a builder for clients.
