Does not work on my pixel 2 at all! Worked fine on my old ape phone though. Please update this app!!! It's super frustrating having to transfer photos from the Leica to laptop to phone.
Works as described with no problems. Camera controls work perfectly. Transfer of images seems limited to Jpegs and not raw files.
Doesn't connect anymore with my Pixel 2XL (running Android 9). Why don't you just expose the file system via WiFi so I could connect with anything including my Mac?
I've used this app to transfer photos to my phone but today I'm not able to. I have a LG V20. Please help fix the issues.
It doesn't work on my Pixel phones. The iOS version worked.
Simply doesn't work. Very unstable buggy software.
Cannot connect with my Pixel 3 at all. Can you please fix this??
Was working fine with my note 8, now can't connect to my note 9
works with iOS but not android. Very disappointing.
Leica Q stopped connecting using either QR code or login. useless.
Doesn't work on Note 9...
It is not working at all
Does not work in Huawei Mate 20 X !
Cannot connect my Q now!
Does not reliably connect with my Pixel 2 XL. Very slow and mars the camera experience. Worse than Sony's camera companion app, which I thought unlikely to be possible.
Doesn't connect at all to the app on Android. I keep getting the error "Connection failed " It seems Leica only cares about IOS owners.
Doesn't work on Android but works on IOS. Optimize for Android now, your users didn't pay upwards of 4k for a camera that has a broken app feature.
Great app. Easy to use. But now I got problem. The app cannot connect to my Huawei P10 for few weeks now. Can you please fix this?
Doesn't work with latest firmware update. App became unresponsive.
Please fix this on Android !!
This app would be great if it connected properly! It is extremely frustrating, it takes ages to connect, when it does that is... Maybe Bluetooth would have worked better but in this case? I don't think it should have been released in its current stage. That makes me want to sell my Leica Q and look somewhere else. At the price of Leica camera everything should be work perfectly.
Seeing the Q as a tool for creativity, it's app feels like it's handcuffed. But, first the good: - Connects without issues and I like that. - The UI is intuitive enough I don't feel lost. - For it's basic functions, it does the job. The bad: - The remote control function is confusing for long exposure times. I was trying to get a +30s exposure and for some reason could not select on the app but could on the camera. The T function is also bound by the maximum exposure time, so it's sort of useless (unless i'm missing something here). - It needs some serious updating. It's using some really old android APIs. Icons are not scaling well, for example. - I wish there was more of a community around this so people can make interesting apps to connect to the camera.
Rest assured that it works as intended. You just need to get the configuration right. It's logical but requires some knowledge of how WiFi connections work. You need to ensure you've set up the Wi-Fi parameters in-camera before you try connecting the app. In-camera you have to specify the SSID (otherwise just leave it as the default), and also specify the password (or else leave the default as-is & note it down). Recommend you change both for convenience. Next, turn on camera if not already, launch the Wi-Fi menu option and turn on connection/remote control, you will see a screen with a QR code. Next turn to your phone, launch WiFi, search for the Leica specific SSID that you have previously defined, click on it & enter the password as you previously defined. The phone should then connect to the Leica Q's private WiFi network. Once connected to the Leica Q's network, the app should automatically connect to the camera after searching for a few seconds, you just then have to tap the app screen to connect. The alternative is to scan the QR code on the camera screen with your app QR scanner. This should also trigger the connection & link up app functionality- from which you can control the camera or view & download/delete/play the images to your phone. Good luck! Leica ought to have step by step instructions for the app connection for the less tech inclined.
You'd think that a German company of this stature would make it easy to do this. But it doesn't! And still can't. These guys need to ask Sony for some tips... This is a pathetic app. If anyone knows how to transfer images please help me! What a waste of time....
Extraordinarily poor app and shameful treatmemt of Leica's premium clients. I too should sell my Q and use my M6 and M7. I am highly IT literate and this app has worked only one time in a hundred attempts. Andoid is in a process of continual improvement and Leica can't keep the pace. Shame on Leica for distributing such poor customer experience. Their digital camera division appears slow to learn and even slower to respond with a fix that delights their demanding clients.
Piece of cr*p. Wifi connection established but unable to download any picture from the camera. For the price of the camera it's insulting they release this useless app. And why do I need two different apps for two different leica cameras. Disappointing.
I expect a helluva lot more from this brand. Leica has no excuses for throwing this app out. The backup function seems to be non-functional. This app should have never seen the light of day.
The app worked well with my HTC cell phone prior to this updated version. Now, it can never establish a connection with my cell phone and thus I can't transfer the photos from my Q to the cell phone anymore. It is disappointing.
Connecting is so impossible that I stopped trying. Can't be true for a Leica .. It's almost a laugh. UX is very poor too in comparison to camera design ..
Cannot transfer photos from camera. I used to think that there might be something wrong with my phone, but I tried with my friends' phone. Still cannot transfer. Tried with 6 my friends' phone (both apple and android), it turned out that can transfer to only one phone out of 6. So disappointed.
